Ellie working thru being a parent upon seconds of hearing the info

Yeah, that was rushed as fuck and felt out of place (along with the "I'm pregnant, now let's fuck" moment). It went from "I guess I do like girls more" to "we're going to spend the rest of our lives together raising a family" in like 3 seconds. I imagine the game gives that relationship more time to breath--and probably a few more near death encounters to experience.

Took me awhile, but.... the mom from the Ted tv series.

…. And from Waiting

…. And Sydney Sweeney’s mom in Euphoria.

She must be on the HBO call list with Jeffrey Wright and Lester and Herc from The Wire.

Her breakout role was as a prostitute with a heart of gold on Its always Sunny in Philadelphia.

I thought it was cursing and showing bush on Waiting, as her breakout role

It's one thing to not like the show anymore without Joel--to each his own, that's fine--but imagine being so fucking miserable and easily triggered that it's a "shameful push of gender politics" because two girls happen to like each other on TV.

Also uh, the game’s fan base shouldn’t be surprised about Ellie being gay?

This was an actual line of dialogue? No wonder people have stopped watching in droves

Dialogue during that scene was pretty cringey but yea gender politics is a stretch .

Writing and acting of that scene was pretty bad.

Jeffrey Wright as a fascist with a heart of gold was better.

So does he hold the record for most hbo shows appeared in?  They do like going back to their favorites.  He should do a White Lotus.

What does a lesbian take on a first date? A Uhaul.

Reddit has its uses. Posting random Reddit posters opinions of a show they are *allegedly* not watching is weird…..unless it’s Helobious then it’s just standard dumbfuckery.

They aren’t random users. They are top commenters on that particular sub and pretty well versed on the subject, and many of them do still watch it for the memes. The posts dragging the show have literally thousands of upvotes and comments, it’s one of the most intensely hated shows out right now due to its poor writing and treatment of source material.

What do you mean "ruin a person?"

As in, its unrealistic for them to have done so?

yes, pretty unrealistic to ride that far for that many days. For both the horse and the rider. What the westerns don't show you is that for a good chunk of the riding day, the rider has to rest the horse by walking instead of riding. So if you are riding a horse 20 miles a day, you are actually walking probably a third to a half of that time/distance. Or you have two horses and you switch off. And you should have two horses, in case one goes lame, just like you should always have a working spare tire in car.

But whatever. Its TV. I wasn't necessarily criticizing the show, just elaborating on somebody else's post.

edit: Google-tron gives me a range of 20 to 50 miles per day, depending on fitness, age, and experience of horse and rider, as well as terrain, weather, weight of rider, etc, and total length of journey (total miles). So maybe more than 20 or 25 miles in a day in perfect conditions (plenty of food, water, not having to carry a ton of weight).

Every time I read an Helobious post, I get a hearty chuckle when I remember that he's in his mid-to-late 30's.

Then I'm deeply saddened when I realize that perpetually online, self-important dorks and trolls who never grew up effectively control the world.

Aside from the shitastic dialogue, the entire escape sequence was so beyond fucking stupid. Why are they so shocked at the site of creatures they've seen before that they stop for a beat to say oh fuck/shit/ayeee?

Rooting for the mushrooms.

This.  They left Jackson Hole in the middle of the night and it was evening by the time they reached the graveyard which was like 10 miles away.  Reasonable.

the hooking up didn't bother me because it's a pretty standard trope, the heroes hooking up after some terrible traumatic encounter, it just happened to be two girls instead of girl/guy which should be normal.  however, emotionally it fell soooo waaay flat next to 'Long, Long Time'.

the baby/family/'daddy' stuff was absolutely ridiculous 🙄

i really like Dina though, she's smarter and more likable than Ellie.
