You just described in a nut shell the middle/centrists.

That's quite a self-report to admit that you're cool with the destruction of our constitutional rights and the ongoing attack on anyone the Administration deems "other", as long as your stonks keep stonking.

I didn't say that was me. I said that was what the "middle/centrists" seem to be representing. I could be wrong, maybe centrists have a different north star. What do you think it is?

Are you "in the middle" on Trump's tariffs?  Militarization of cities?  Brutalization of immigrants and other browns?  Open politicization of executive departments, including DOJ, complete with retaliation against civil servants?  DOGE?  RFK?

Or is that all ok as long as stonks stonk and your taxes don't go up?

How about we make a deal. If I ever want to join “the sky is falling” echo chamber to discuss these topics, I’ll sashay on over to the CR. If you ever want to discuss the market, this is the place.

What I won’t do is head to the CR and call people out for not caring about the stock market, even though I know some of them do. Likewise, others shouldn’t jump into the stock market thread and call people out for not caring about social issues, even though some of us do.

You're the one that brought up Nancy Pelosi.  Not to defend her, but you realize that unlike most Congress critters, her spouse is a professional investor.

Also, point of order, those things I mentioned aren't "social issues," they are fundamental to our system of government and how it operates.

Almost assuredly, and maybe slightly more egregious than the greatest trader of all time, Nancy Pelosi. She killed hedge funds and professional traders while focused on her actual career.

There’s a forum for that…

Indeed.

Unfortunately for everyone not in the robber baron class, political office has enabled all sorts of egregious behavior which used to be prosecuted.  I think that reality reflects the fact that if you are in fact a member of the political class you can do what you want, unlike the peons outside the class.  We're stuck with rules.  Very Soviet like.
