I noticed on his Rivals page that Jason Higdon put in a Florida pick for him a few days ago.

I guess Higdon will be trying to get a little more bama intel since his buddy Chuck is now a defensive analyst for Saban...

Of course not, you borderline overly-literal autist. The guy is basically saying the same thing you are and somehow you're trying to argue with him about it. Newsflash, motivation is a factor that Gerry and many others take into account when tryingt to grade the likelihood of a kid's success. Nice kids from good families, motivation/drive, hunger. Call it whatever the fuck you want. "Thats not a hot dog, it's a frankfurter! Totally different!" For fuck's sake.

Damn. You got that frankfurter in you.

Really hope we can land Baker.  Need a stud OT to take over for Banks in two years.  Maybe Goosby is ready by then?

There's not an obvious heir apparent to replace Banks in two years, but there are plenty of options to develop, and two years is plenty of runway for Flood

'25 has 3-4 in-state tackles in the top 10 at the position, and if we miss on Baker, I would hope we go harder at Fasusi and Haywood

It looks like us and every bluechip in the country is going hard at Fasusi, that could be a monster recruitment

In-state class in general in 2025 seems to deeper at several spots that the 2024 class wasn't as strong in (OL and DL notably). WR is another position that is stupid loaded. We should be able to throw a stick out the window and hit 3 good ones next cycle.

And how has that worked in the past?

Do you believe that past behaviors from prior regimes will translate into similar poor results in the future with the current regime? I would assume no. So why does your fucking question even need to be asked when anyone paying attention on this board knows that the current situation, and the current approach of this staff, is significantly different.

Reminding long time posters on this board that we need to remember what happened for more than a decade when a positive statement is made about the future is tedious. No one needs reminding.

Do you really think Fud is expecting the staff to be lazy in the next cycle? If your answer is anything but "no", just keep it to yourself.

Yes, it's difficult to replace a future top ten pick at left tackle, although Texas will likely have plenty of options between the 4th year guys from the 2022 class who will mostly have plenty of starting experience, several options from the 2023 class of physically high upside takes, and potentially younger guys from the 2024-2025 class. I'd bet that at least one OL from the options above will be adequate. If an adequate option doesn't materialize, then there's the break the glass option of tampering about the country looking for an adequate starter at LT.

Clan Manning might personally fund a left tackle if there's not one good enough on campus

I think Robinson is one of the guys that Texas will do what it takes, especially with Blocton and Lindsey getting NIL'd to our future SEC opponents.

There are 3 most haves along the DL and EDGE left, and Texas must win all 3 recruitments with NIL. Robinson, Simmons, and McKinley.

Potentially younger? They're more than that. They're actually younger.

I'm not sold on McKinley. I heard that his parents love him and that means he's lazy.

Or something like that, I don't know. I'm not a recruiting expert like Codaxx.

I merely mentioned what Gerry said and even CTJ confirmed it with "yeah, he isnt an animal", but go on.

LSU mod Bill Embody is saying that LSU is surging big time after getting more organized NIL wise.  He says there's a reason Colin is thinking about committing sooner, and part of that has to do with LSU hitting the right points recently.

It's been said ad nauseam that Texas will not lose the Simmons recruitment due to NIL.  Bill Embody is full of shit.

Anyone ever get the story on SImmons and LSU? There was a point where IT guys said LSU was fading. Sounded like LSU got caught in a lie or something, but those guys never elaborated on the story..

Gerry said he was real savvy guy and picked  up on stuff LSU was doing behind that scenes that differed than what he was told. You thought he was a guy with a head on his shoulders that caught LSU lying to him. At this point it is unclear.
