Tack on 180 days and a $2k fine (that's what's allowed).  Hit him with everything you've got.

Of course, he's in Travis County, so even if charged, the DA will probably blow the deadline to try the case.

Oh, I don't know. He sure sounded and acted like a white fella with some means.  Seems like a target Garza might actually put some effort into.  If it happens, we should take the win.

Well, this one made my blood boil. As someone who fished my entire childhood, and think it’s about as good an activity as a kid can be involved in…threatening to murder a kid for…fishing….pisses me off beyond belief.

My 14 year old son was threatened in Onion Creek neighborhood for fishing

Hope that this guy is charged both for the murder threat and interfering with a person legally fishing. And he’s doxxed and treated like the POS that he is.

What are you in for?

  Threating to murder someone...

Wow.

Also I prevented a minor from fishing...

He threatened to drown the kid. Is @Nicole44 catfishing us?

That  guy yelling at that kid and threatening him is an unhinged shit hole criminal POS.

Also, I am not a guy. I am a gal. Plenty of people know me from here. IRL.

Also, I don’t yell at nor do I speak to my prey. It’s better that way.

That's the type of guy who somehow snuck through life without ever taking an ass whipping, likely because he's only a dick to people who aren't a threat, like a kid.

ETA: From that Reddit thread it looks like the parents found out who he is and are taking action with law enforcement.  Good.

Need to dox this cat.

I’m gonna guess it’s a crazy homeless guy with a long rap sheet but little prosecution/jail time. Seems to be the pattern.

Shocker:

The suspect arrested for Saturday's library shooting was tied to another shooting on a city bus earlier that day, an arrest affidavit shows.

Harold Keene, 55, was arrested Saturday in connection to a midday shooting in a bathroom at the Austin Central Library that left one person injured, according to the affidavit. Keene is also accused of shooting another person on a CapMetro bus after pointing a gun at a mother and child.

Police responded to reports of a shooting in a sixth-floor restroom at the library just after noon on Saturday. According to the affidavit, library security footage showed a man in a gray hoodie leaving the restroom shortly after the victim fled. The footage then showed the man boarding a CapMetro bus headed westbound on Cesar Chavez Street. CapMetro reviewed security footage that showed the man exiting the bus at the Brodie Oaks shopping center and walking through the parking lot of the Olive Garden in the shopping center. Police located and arrested a man matching the suspect's description at 1:22 p.m. at 4006 South Lamar Blvd, near the Starbucks. The affidavit said Keene had a stolen handgun and initially identified himself with a false name and birth date, but police identified him as Keene after taking him to Austin police headquarters. They were also able to identify Keene as the man involved in a shooting on a CapMetro bus early Saturday morning.

According to the affidavit, just before 2 a.m. Saturday a passenger reported being on the bus with a man who was "mentally unstable." The passenger said the suspect, later identified as Keene, asked him for his Dr. Pepper, which the passenger gave to him. The passenger said Keene then started to "ramble on about the C.I.A. and conspiracies" before pulling out a pistol and pointing it another passenger and her daughter. The passenger said he confronted Keene, who then pulled out a bag "believed to be crystal methamphetamine" and ate it. The passenger alerted the bus driver, who stopped the bus near the corner of 32nd and Guadalupe streets. When the passenger got off, he said Keene was standing at the front of the bus pointing the gun at him. The affidavit said Keene fired a single shot, grazing the passenger's hip, and then fled the scene on a scooter headed south on Guadalupe Street.

In an interview with police, Keene confessed to using the stolen handgun to shoot both the victim on the bus and the victim at the library.

According to court records, Keene has an extensive criminal record going back decades. In April, Keene was charged with making a terroristic threat for allegedly pointing a gun at an employee of HireQuest, an employment agency in North Austin. In May of 2024, Keene was charged with assault while he was an inmate at the Travis County Correctional Complex in Del Valle. That charge stemmed from an altercation between Keene and another inmate, according to an affidavit. A sheriff's deputy who responded to the scene said security footage showed Keene and the other inmate fighting over a chess board in a common area. The affidavit says Keene punched the other inmate, who chose to press charges. Court records show that charge was dismissed because Keene was "receiving treatment through felony probation."

When the same suspects keep getting elected to City Council, the homelessness crisis isn't going to subside.

i have to admit, i am not some sort of fishing enthusiast despite having done it probably 50-100 times in my life (mostly in east texas). old white guys are often involved so, like golf, i'm sure there all sorts of pathetic unwritten etiquette rules, etc... that i am not aware of.

but why the fuck would someone give a shit if some teen was fishing in onion creek? why would it elicit such an unhinged response like that? i could understand someone being annnoyed/mad if the kid was fishing on their private property in some stocked tank (event then, threatening to knock him out and drown him would be completely insane) but i cannot imagine why the sight of a 14 year old standing and fishing by onion creek would make someone become completely unhinged like this. what the fuck am i missing? every time i walk/jog/drive by some rando fishing somewhere like town lake or a creek or whatever, i think to myself "hmm, that's nice. good for them." what am i missing that should make me ragey and go tell them they are going to die the next time i see them?

I have equal hate for all the influencers who have moved here as well too. You can’t even walk at the lake without getting nearly trampled to death by a dude bro run club which people pay to be a part of.

I mentioned it on some post before -- the tech and finance bro contingent at F1 was insufferable.  I'm glad I went, but holy shit that crowd . . .

Plenty of blame to be shared, including city management and police.

Name one major city “solving” homelessness. This is a regional, state, and national crisis. Hell, we have private and county prisons sending vulnerable pops to Austin and have been for decades. Cuts in public housing and hospitals have had a huge effect. As have our self-started opioid epidemic and policies attacking our middle class.

Stop talking about things you dont know anything about and focus on expanding Pflugerville’s strip centers and smoke shops.
