So I am reading that Arians told AB to get off the sidelines because he wouldn't go in and play on a hurt ankle and a $800k bonus was tied to this and Arians told him he is not getting this. Hmmmmm...

His ankle definitely looked injured when he did jumping jacks in the end zone and ran off the field 🙄

So he did, or didn't want to play?  Arians said if you're not going in now you're done for the game.

Hell....... Ronnie Lott would have just said cut the fucker off, I'm going in....  players today, soft I tell ya.... sheesh.....

AB was probably just throwing a tantrum so I am just responding to the general statement of players.

I contend that if you are out there in the arena you are not soft since at today's size and speeds you have to have some toughness to play the sport. Some players today legitimately don't go in as a career decision. Teams do not have the players best interest in mind. Remember David Ash miraculously being cleared of a concussion by team doctors since Mack had no QB. Larry Bird cut his career short due to building a drive way for his mom because he was taught to be "tough" and do things himself. We would all laugh at Larry today and say hey go the Tom Brady way and take care of yourself. I am OK in players getting a second opinion that could change their lives. I am not saying it is OK to buy a second opinion so that you can avoid meeting your contractual obligations. Yet that kind of stuff has nothing to do with being soft and everything to do with being dishonest.

So yes, this was Arians telling AB to get off the sidelines and he was cut from the team during the game itself. He was not cut because of what he did. He had already been cut with his nearly million dollar incentive right in his reach. Whether or not you believe AB was injured, I mean he didn't practice all week and been battling an ankle injury for weeks now. They pretty much told him get in the game or you are done with this team.

Waaaaaay different than how it was originally presented to us. Like Arians was being some stand up guy and cutting AB for his tantrum. The tantrum was a big fuck you to Arians and TB. Which I have zero problem with. Which is why his teammates had his back in the pressers.

This is not about AB having mental health issues.

Correction. Arians cut him on the spot. Hence the outburst. The outburst was a reaction to being cut during a game. Arians was not some stand up saint for cutting AB after that. But of course, we all react without all the facts and jump on AB.

I have zero problem with what AB did after hearing this news.

AB's contract is incentive based. He had $1million to still get. he has been hurt and was trying to play through it to get it. But felt it was too much and did not want to enter back. To cut a player for that? Yeah, very dick move and deserved the fuck you AB gave them.

What was the 1 million tied to?

This was the breakdown of what he needed to get the incentive

Antonio Brown needed: 8 more catches to unlock a $333,333 bonus. He also needed 55 receiving yards to unlock another $333,333 bonus. He also needed just 1 receiving TD to unlock another $333,333 bonus.

Also makes sense when Mike Evans went over and asked "WTF mate?", it stands to reason AB told him BA had just cut him and that's why he walks off.

Maybe not? But that was a moot point. Arians did not allow him to even try to get it. Arians never liked him. He knew AB would go ballistic and would be the bad guy. Then he can swoop him and tell everyone how righteous he was for cutting him. Hell even thought Ian Rappaport told what really happened, no one cares anymore. Damage done. It's like all these stories where the true side comes out later but doesn't matter because court of public opinion has already ruled.

Yep. And why his teammates defended him. But they weren't going to go into it with the media. I guarantee you Arians will lose some of that locker room. No matter how we view AB, I believe he was generally liked in that locker room. So many coaches don't get enough heat for the shit they pull. Players are piled on all the time.

I get AB has his faults and can fly off the handle but if you are cut mid game, what the hell do you expect? I'd be livid, too.

I'm not sure I understand your point.  How is Arians telling AB to go into the game preventing AB from trying to reach incentives?  Is it your belief Arians and the Bucs would rather save $1M than have AB on the team when they're already down Godwin and Evans is banged up?

Arians took the heat by ignoring his "one strike" mandate after AB's vaccine card fraud and you think now Arians is doing this to look good?

If you don't think he would've squeezed out 8 catches,  1 td and 55 yards in three games, what makes you think he would've done it in the final game? On a bad ankle.  Antonio burned any equity or leeway he had with Arians when he was suspended for the fake vaccine card.

In my younger days, I used to work for a certain computer sweatshop located in RR, making chump change.  As with most places, we had an allotted number of sick days.  It was a young crowd and with that there were quite a few partiers.  One, a reasonably attractive female burned through her "sick days" by April.  She ended up calling in sick, and this time she really was sick, and they fired her.  She had a doctor's note and everything, still fired her.  Actions have consequences.  AB will be ok, but I think he's done with football.  Unfortunately, this girl did not go topless when she was escorted out.

$1 million in bonus for some incremental catches, TD and yards that he felt wasn't coming his way this game and the next.  He's probably broke so that's his life supply of money and he went nuts.  Too bad, he's one of the fastest 30+ yo WRs I've ever seen.

So has it came out to what led to this? I haven't read anything about it yet or watch any of the game. Did he not get enough targets? Wide open and wasn't seen? This causes a titty fit for many WRs today. It wasn't like they are some shitty team with no future. This was a huge game for them to keep pace for the 2 seed. TB was going to keep him around as long as Brady wanted. He had it made.

top of the page -- we all saw that on Fox discussion with Bradshaw, Strahan and the rest , just minutes after the incident.

It's about the bonuses, the money of course!  Players are always upset about only 3 things -- money, playing time, some disrespect shit with teammates/coaches.

Yep, if he wasn't a jagoff twat-waffle to begin w/, he wouldn't have been in that situation.  Fuck him and his over-the-top bullshit.  Hopefully, the NFL has seen the last of this fool.

After he pulled the fake vaccine shit he has no one to blame but himself. That was 3 games worth of stats.

You place a lot of credibility in a 60 second segment with Ian fucking Rapoport.

Who do you think Rapoport's source is? Who referred to BA as a saint? BA didn't given him an opportunity to earn his incentives? I mean aside from telling him to enter the game thereby giving him the opportunity to accumulate statistics.

Do you think critically at all?

and he had a game and a half to get there, with a WR corps minus Godwin and with an ailing Mike Evans.

Not buying this bullshit( not directed at you Vic, but rather the sympathy line for AB.)  A professional sticks it out with that kind of money on the line.  IDGAF about loyalty or teammate horseshit in this discussion.  He should have stuck it out for AB.  Nobody else.

Arians should have cut him over the fake vax suspension as that could have decimated the team. The Bucs security team should have turned AB and the other two players and TBs trainer in to the feds for counterfeiting vax cards.

AB was cleared by team docs and has his own docs that could have voiced concern. He practiced , played, and could have pursued his incentives. No doubt AB’s future is likely a incarcerated felon. He beats women, a likely rapist, a criminal. A scam artist, which this is likely another episode of.
