Huh?  Warren is 4th or 5th in most states. The story tonight is Bloomberg fucking Biden.  Biden is sweeping tonight with no Bloomberg.

Warrens votes would be going to bernie most likely. If she would have dropped like Pete and Amy then Bernie might steal a few more delegates and maybe a state or two. It’s all hands on deck to make sure bernie doesn’t get 1 delegate more than he can. Liz is going to get paid.

Who built the cages Donald immediately started using?

Private prison companies built the current facilities. You’re incredibly intellectually dishonest if you are genuinely trying to compare Trump’s immigration policies to Obama’s

Bruh if Bernie wins he's gonna get slaughtered by Trump. I mean, I'd be down to watch it, but it's a cruel end to that turds career. Let em ride off into the sunset he's like 80 isn't he?

Well say what you want about president asshole trump, but I doubt he snapped his fingers and invented dozens of private prisons chalk full of convicted federal felons within the last two years.

No I'm asking, Bernie Bros gonna claim it's rigged right? Then Biden boomers gonna claim Russia rigs it for Bernie.

Agree, but Warren has barely any votes.  None of Bloombergs votes would go to Bernie either. 90+% would go to Biden. And Bloomberg has been destroying Warren in votes tonight.  If this was a 2 horse race, Biden would win every single state.

Any dramatic coin tosses or just plain ole DNC rigging?

Oh please tell us about how they rigged it? I’m gonna go out on a limb and say you can’t.

He’s a Republican. To Republicans, “letting people vote” at “easily accessible and not closed polling locations” is “rigging the election.”

To be a fair election, you need to make sure that poling places in areas that might vote for your opponent are shut down for “budget reasons,” and you need to set a difficult and time consuming bar for folks who might vote for your opponent to qualify to vote. Otherwise, the election is “rigged.”

There is thin empirical evidence of this.  I know a hard core enviro who is strongly pro Warren.  She hates Bernie with the passion of 1000 suns.

Legit lol.  The Trump backers trying to secure the high ground is pure comedy.  By trump I mean that one libertarian guy...yeah, that’s who they all voted for.  😂

I think Warren's current vote share is more likely to align to the Biden coalition now.  Most of those voters second choice in polling were the set of Joe, Amy, and Pete and I think they'll stay there.

Warren dragging this out helps Bernie, IMO.

Now that this thing is mostly settled, the VEEP pick is intriguing.  I think it's got to be Pete if he's willing.  Biden will need a swing state turnout machine as VEEP and someone to wipe the floor with Pence (if Trump doesn't scapegoat him for something).  Pete's ability to deliver post Iowa types speeches on the campaign would be very critical.  I'd be partial to Klobuchar but she's just not a dynamic enough turnout machine despite her Midwestern credibility.  I think Abrams would be a mistake.  That vote bloc (Southern state minorities) is already going to come out for Biden in massive numbers if today is any indication and although she may be able to help in Georgia and Florida I don't think that's the part of the electorial map they should focus on.

Biden will need a strong team and infrastructure in every facet (Obama, Bloomberg's money, strong VEEP, etc) to face the assault coming in the general.  He's wholly incapable of doing it on his own merit.  This is scary.  I wish this was Liz heading up this fight.

i'd be tickled if it's Pete...but if not, then DEFINITELY a female. Harris seems to be the name most often tossed out... that could be good, she'd probably distract Trump from Biden bc he'd be so furious that a woman was talking shit to/about him. she'd zing the shit* out of him on Twitter.

*sadly, this is what it will take, that's where our country is now 😐

Her moving to the left with MFA hurt her imo.

Ultimately that will probably prove her unraveling.  I think she's too pragmatic and smart to know that implementing it wasn't smart but at the time the moderate lane still had people like Harris and Booker and she triangulated that that was the right position to take.

Not recognizing that she was never going to get votes from Bernie's base was her failure.  Her platform is actually more "centrist" in this new era Democratic party and she waited too long to change course to presenting herself that way.  It sucks.

So olds are crazy moderate and still vote, and the black vote still ties Biden to Obama. Meanwhile the yoots are passionate for Bernie, but still don't fucking vote. So it'll be Biden vs Trump. Seeing the numbers, I'm surprised. But the numbers are in--the majority of registered democrats who actually vote (i.e. olds) like them some Biden. I saw some Biden today and he's stil pretty sharp and I think can hold his own against the orange idiot. I'm not yet sold that enough people will go out to rid us of the trump evil, but the numbers Biden showed in a divided primary indicate to me some indication of where the country is and he may have a chance as not only the Democratic candidate but the guy who doesn't support white nationalists and who doesn't lie about stupid easily disprovable facts and therefore the superior candiate to the status quo.

If he truly cared about America, he would have used that 500 million dollars to, I dunno, help the poor or something.  This was just vainglorious folly on his part.

His anti-Trump ads are on point. He should fund a PAC and keep doing them.  Rest to charity.

honestly... this is so infuriating. if they aren't motivated to vote in THIS election cycle, for someone that clearly inspires them, with the stakes being what they are... they never will.

very disheartening

Hey, I used to be a young Hispanic voter. Based on historical turnout, there were like 7 of us.
I’m, uh, not young anymore.

Democrats need to start talking about Climate and Economic Insecurity. Their issues. We are losing a generation of voters if they become cynical and they are a key demographic of the Democratic Party this year and in the future. Don't waste the seed corn.

Climate - Economic Insecurity.

Trump and his band of dingleberries is already trying to spin the narrative that “ THE NOMINATION IS BEING STOLEN FROM BERNIE MAGA MAGA”

these are downright shitty awful human beings we’re talking about here. These guys don’t give a fuck about Bernie. They just want Bernie to be the head of the Democratic ticket because Trump is TOXIC in the suburbs and that perception is never going to change. Running a socialist in the suburbs would be a very tough sell for the dems.

I really think Biden vs. a Trump would be close. Both candidates would start with about 240 EV each. Could go either way. At least the Dems would still be able to make gains in the senate and keep the house with a Biden nomination.

This might be the first time in this whole process where Biden has been referred to as “still pretty sharp.”

Whatever speech I saw last night he looked good and was sharp. Maybe it was adrenaline or a viagra but he looked and sounded good. I know he’s prone to mush mouth but trump is worse and also much much stupider. I’m not too concerned and I think he’ll do better than Hillary against the idiot.

Travis county had a weak Biden showing in the early voting, 38k Bernie to 12k for Biden. But Election Day voting was 44k Bernie, 38k Biden.

bernie should be going go see warren today and beg her to endorse him. Offer to quietly shift policy positions if necessary.

but when Bloomberg endorses Biden along with his operations, it’s over for Bernie.

What are the chances of a brokered convention now? Any site a good resource for seeing how each state left will vote? I figured bernie would be ahead at the end of the night but still on pace for a brokered convention. Now I’m not sure Biden doesn’t win it outright.

Biden's VP pick is going to be key. He doesn't have eight years left in him (he might not have four), so whoever he picks needs to be capable of leading the party without losing the never Trumpers who switched over in this cycle.

538 tracks this but their latest data was calculated 24 hours ago. At that point it had “no majority of delegates” for anyone at 3 out of 5. I imagine they will recalc today.

Yeah I checked there. Figured they would be up all night to get the latest projections out first but I guess not.

Is... is Bernie part of the establishment?

(This is the type of shit he should have immediately pivoted to once he became the frontrunner.)

As opposed to basically trashing the party while trying to claim the mantle of its leader.

This doesn't get talked about at all on this board, but there are ways in which a Biden presidency could be even more damaging than four more years of Trump.  Trump can't cut social security and other New Deal/Great Society programs unilaterally, but Biden could potentially do so as Obama tried to do but was stymied by Tea Party psychos who wanted even bigger cuts.  McConnell knows this and has already talked about it publicly.  For Bernie to have a chance at this thing he has to get voters to understand Biden's record and what he would likely do as President.  The media obviously isn't going to talk about the fact that Biden has worked his entire career to cut these programs it so it's all on him and his campaign to break through with that message.
