You lost the argument when Derka pos-repped you. You also can't lead someone upfield running a slant. Ball has to be thrown 5 yards in front of him to be on time where the number two safety prospect in the country only has to close the other 5 yards to be there and he is already moving. Good luck.

Says guy who's never watched football before. Apparently the QB just has to lead the WR straight into the DB,  cause some guy on the internet thinks that’s the only way slants are allowed to be thrown. 😂

The ball has to be thrown 5 yards in front of him for someone with a weak arm like Quinn

Hopefully there was plenty of film time to show arch how slow and fucked up he was.  Hopefully he’s a quick study.  Hopefully he saw the chances to win the game where there. Hopefully he saw what he needed to fix and we have 3 weeks and 3 cupcakes to fix it and all this will be for nothing.    Hopefully

The ball has to be thrown 5 yards in front of him for someone running like Wingo big dawg. Do the math. .5 seconds for the ball to get there to a player covering 40 yards under 4.4 who is already at speed.

Based on that the throw a few plays ago, it seems Arch may have an injured shoulder. He’s still throwing darts, but something’s up. That grimace was not normal.

I'm wondering the same thing about the wincing

hes not throwing with ease.  we've seen him sling the ball last year.  its gotta be an undisclosed injury.

We never saw enough of his full arsenal to know what we were getting. He still rips the ball long fairly well. He may just not have any finesse.

Same. He’s hurt.

If we're talking about the same play, it looked like he got shit in his eyes to me. He closed them before releasing the ball.

no, there were multiple throws where he winced after releasing the ball.

He has a good feel for the pocket.  He's not a Heisman candidate right off the bat.  It's not the end of the world.  He'll get there.

Yeah, he’s gonna be good. Looking forward to it slowing down for him so he can use his legs against quality defenses.

Over?  Oh no no no no.  This shit isn't OVER until he has completed his first NFL preseason and secured a 3rd string QB spot or washed out of the league and started running up huge Cheesecake Factory tabs Peyton has to cover for him.

Arch’s mobility and pocket awareness gives him a huge advantage over Ewers.

watching arch stand tall in the pocket and go through his reads is downright refreshing. i’m so not used to seeing that from a Texas qb. a clean pocket was a nightmare for quinn ewers, because if his first read wasn’t wide open he’d turtle, start scrambling in the pocket (either forward or backwards), and just play with this sense of totally unnecessary urgency, a hallmark of his game after he got injured his first year here. the scrambling is incredible, but the way that Arch stands tall in the pocket and plays without fear is just so enjoyable to see after the last three seasons. colt was probably the last qb we had with this type of composure.

Lots to learn.  Will make more mistakes.  Potential to be really good after a lot more starts is possible...
