Dana Bash should be taken off the air for that. Absolutely embarrassing to have such feeble pushback to a VP candidate admitting he’s taking pages directly from the Nazi playbook

Well, she's horrible, so yes, she should be taken off the air . . . years ago.  An absolutely unlikeable, untalented hack who mostly just interrupts people.

Surprised they didn’t go with Haitian gang violence

You should get Facebook. Sources say that two Haitians were fighting over some cat bodies.

Or blame the Cubans.

MAGA turning against the Cubans would be a prime example of leopards eating faces.

Probably swing FLA to Harris

On the latest Sarah Longwell podcast/video, Bash tried to justify her and Tapper’s failure to fact check in the first debate… and somewhat criticize ABC’s decision to fact-check in last week’s debate.  it was infuriating.

Her halting speaking style sucks too.  I always assume I’m somehow just missing her appeal.

Nothing will get Cubans to budge.

7 weeks to go, key dates for things that could change the outcome:

9/17: Fed meets on Sep 17-18; their announcement about rate changes could have dramatic impact on the stock market and sentiment toward Harris.

9/20: Early voting begins; exit polling and other insights might start showing up.

10/1: VP debate; for now it looks quite likely that Walz/Harris will receive another bump, but a major snafu could erode their momentum.

10/4: Sept jobs report released

10/10: Sept inflation report released

11/5: Election Day

Unscheduled or unknown events that could change things:

Assassinations and assassination attempts

Health problems for either candidate or their running mates

Scandals (affairs, etc.)

Developments in Ukraine/Israel wars

Significant stories involving illegal immigrants

I think there’s more downside for Trump in the unknowns than for Harris.  I think Trump is more likely to get killed, have healthy problems, or have a scandal.  Harris is more vulnerable to negative outcomes related to stories on the economy, Ukraine/Israel, and immigration, but I think it’s limited.  I don’t think the majority of Americans actually would prefer Trump to handle something like the aftermath of Putin firing off a nuke, or Iran escalating with the Israelies.  Interestingly, it doesn’t look like the actual crimes that Trump has been indicted for are going to have any material impact on the election; that’s insane to me.

The most likely scenario is that batshit crazy Laura Loomer can’t keep her big mouth shut and tells someone who tells the press that she’s been sucking Trump’s micropenis.

Didn’t that literally already happen?

With that said, something is up. Whether it was the major blowback from JV on this Haitian stuff, JV’s terrible morning shows, turnip’s “i hate swift” tweet, or what but it’s just odd that this randomly happened….now.

Only in America is “just a random guy walking around with an AK47” viewed as the less alarming outcome.

A majority of Black voters are just as excited or more this year as in 2008, when then-Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) became the first Black president, according to new polling.

A survey from the NAACP, in partnership with HIT Strategies and Hart Research, found that 78 percent of Black voters feel the same sense of excitement as when Obama first ran, with 56 percent being more excited now than in 2008.

The early evidence indicates that Secret Service agents spotted a suspicious man with a gun at a wood line, a person familiar with the investigation said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to describe the early stages of a sensitive investigation.

So far, officials do not have evidence that the person fired any shots, but they are still investigating, the person said. Seeing that threat, agents fired at the man. He dropped what he was carrying and fled in a vehicle, which was later stopped by local police, and he was taken into custody, the person said.

I'm sure Trump will come right out and say we need to make sure weapons like this don't get into the hands of the wrong people so he's going to campaign for an assault weapons ban.

The armed suspect was spotted by a member of Trump's Secret Service team two holes ahead from where the president was golfing, on the edge of the course, multiple law enforcement officials told CBS News. The suspect fled the scene, jumping into a car after he was engaged by Secret Service agents with multiple gunshots. A car with the same license plate number was stopped in Martin County, north of the golf course, and one individual was taken into custody, the officials said. An AK-47 style weapon and scope were recovered at the scene by the golf course. https://cbsn.ws/4ddqsyB

Seventeen former staff members of the late Republican President Ronald Reagan are endorsing the Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris.

In a joint statement first obtained by CBS News, the staff members wrote that Reagan, if alive, would have supported Harris.

"President Ronald Reagan famously spoke about a 'Time for Choosing.' While he is not here to experience the current moment, we who worked for him in the White House, in the administration, in campaigns and on his personal staff, know he would join us in supporting the Harris-Walz ticket," the group writes. "The time for choosing we face today is a choice between integrity and demagoguery, and the choice must be Harris-Walz," the group added. "Our votes in this election are less about supporting the Democratic Party and more about our resounding support for democracy."
