Are you fucking nuts? The Hangover was a fucking great original comedy. Step Brothers. Wedding Crashers. Napoleon Dynamite. Tropic Thunder. They're all supremely quotable movies. And that's just rolling off the top of my head.

Not for nothing but the most recent of these films came out 16 years ago

Yeah. And I was specifically responding to this POST, which talks about comedy basically stopping being worth a shit after the early 2000s:

I think those of us who hated HG2 are just starving for a classic comedy us guys can repeat lines from 10-15-30 years from now. We had a hell of a run in the 90s with the Happy madison movies, Ace Ventura, Dumb and Dumber etc. early 00's with 40 YO virgin, Superbad, Meet the parents, Old school. I know im missing some in both genres.   I dont remember the last real true comedy cult classic that almost every one thought was fucking hilarious but also an original.

Well Step Brothers was 2008 and probably the last truly quotable movie.  We are closer to that shit being 20 years old.

Well… go read the quotable movie quotes thread from the last decade and I’d be pretty fucking right.

Unless you’re still peeved I left off some classics from the list I rattled from the top of my head that I’d agree are classics

It had some funny scenes but overall it was worse than I was expecting a 30 year after the fact sequel to be. They didn’t need to sequel every character where the son plays them. Eminem was the worst of all.

I also know for a fact when the original came out my dad was the age I am now and he shook his head at happy Gilmore and Billy Madison as I laughed my ass off so it’s probably just me being old now and shaking my fist at everything.

Didn't lol once, would not recommend. Sandler has been a hack for 20+ years now, churning out turd after turd. I think this movie was written by a combination of AI and the South Park manatees.

I had a few chuckles.  Him being essentially a teddy bear alcoholic who on one hand has a major addiction problem, but he's just so lovable and his kids adore him so it's funny was dumb idea.  But ignoring that aspect you can get a few laughs.

I thought it was goofy, pretty stupid and funny as hell at a few point.

I still don't know why the line by Grubbs' son: "Of course I'm never coming back you fine ass English Hill billy" killed me. Reggie Bush and Eminem cameos were fun.

I also get not liking it, but don't get hating it at all.
