Start doing a hell of a lot more like he just did over the last couple of days. Call out trump and republican corruption. But not in an intellectual way. In a visceral way. Tell Americans everything they're losing. Make them fear the future under the dictator.

Would have to start coordinating with other Democrats to form a resistance force. To leverage all of the hatred and fear in these No Kings rallies. Tap in to the growing desperation as the economy craters and more and more people lose their jobs. Make sure trump and republicans wear their failures and oppression.

A lot of the work needs to start in the shadows. Maybe it's going on now, but knowing the history of Democrats I severely doubt it.

Most likely they'll pretend this is politics as normal until it's too late and trump has total control of the government and beats the courts and justice dept into submission through intimidation.

What does resistance look like for the average American with a job and family?

Sign me up for the world where I can stop working and spending money. I don’t need to be doing it in protest.

Its not permanent of course just a few days to show presence, just a few days and market will panic because the economy is like 60% people working and spending.

You're completely wrong. I don't have anything against Muslims as people. I hate that they propagated anti democrat rhetoric in their communities and influenced the election in Michigan and Pennsylvania. All because they believed the lies of a proven liar and convicted criminal. A man who instituted a Muslim ban in his first term. Pure stupidity.

I called out Latinos, especially ones in my family, for the same thing. Voting for people who actively speak and act towards subjugation of them.

Same for Christians. Supporting this administration is pure hypocrisy. Goes against everything their religion pretends to represent and believe.

You can go ahead and get emotional about it all, but it doesn't make you correct. Just makes you appear emotionally unstable and unable to grasp nuance.

Ok, then I apologize. You have no way of knowing but I am very much over seeing outright racist shit couched in very similar words thrown at members of my family (who mostly live in TX and CA) because of the results of this election and I'm on a hair trigger at this point.

Depends on how much it's allowed to grow. Right now? Not much. If this continues? I think we all know where it heads.

This nation full of idiot Muslims who were too stupid to understand the concept of choosing the better of 2 evils and voted themselves into a far worse situation did the damage.

This is stupid and hateful.  Lacking in empathy to those who had families being obliterated and basic knowledge of how the election was determined.  I'm not going to go further, because I thought this was the LA ICE thread. Also, I'm trying to be a bit better in my time back here and to be clear I am not calling you stupid.

I think this is the best article I’ve read that touched on that if you get to the end.

Maybe it is. But the truth is Muslims in Michigan didn't have a good choice between either party, both of whom are dominated by Jewish money to one degree or another. That said, while there wasn't a good choice, there was a clear choice, and they chose poorly in a way that was not good for their community.

Bottom line though is that it's tough sledding getting a pro Palestinian president elected in this country regardless. The best that can be hoped for is less of a hardliner in terms of being pro-Israel.

Good article. Hopefully, 12 million people saying, "Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me," will do the trick.

*fingers crossed*

They have vaginas and occasionally laugh, so obviously they're too emotional to be elected, regardless of support.

Joe Biden won, in no small part, because people still associate him with Obama.

And god are we in need of someone who can crush a speech.

Calling it Jewish money rather than AIPAC money was a choice.

So you see AIPAC money as being non Jewish money?

BTW, there is plenty of Jewish money donated to political causes outside of AIPAC. Not all of it is single agenda donations revolving around Israel, but a lot of it is.

You realize that A) most American Zionists are not Jewish, and B) most of the money coming from these large American pro-Israel groups is not "Jewish money" right? It largely comes from Republican megadonors that are opportunists going after low-hanging fruit in order to flip districts.

All I can tell you is that all the wealthy Jews I am friends with are heavily pro Israel, donate heavily to both parties. When I have attended AIPAC functions in Houston I am often one of the few goyim there. If you say that money is coming from Republican megadonors then so be it. That's just not my personal experience.

1. Contributors to AIPAC aren't public but many of them are almost certainly not Jewish, given the huge support for Israel among American christians.

2. For what should be fucking obvious reasons, it's anti-Semitic and wrong to conflate the state of Israel with Jews generally, particularly outside of Israel.

I have no familiarity with NAACP other than what I've read.

I do not think of the NAACP as influential or persuasive as AIPAC. It's my opinion AIPAC historically is one of the most powerful lobbying groups in the United States, at least post WWII.

All of the Jews I personally know are highly supportive of the state of Israel, while not necessarily being supportive of the current government.

I would argue the opposite. To indicate an opposition to the state of Israel is conflated with antisemitism. My observation has been this is a tool used to try to suppress criticism of the state of Israel.

Please remember this when y'all ask why American Jews feel politically homeless right now.  There are some folks that genuinely make an attempt to thread the needle between Judaism and Israel, but this shit is how most people talk.

There are a lot of people who feel politically homeless right now. It's not specific to American Jews. There's a lot of litmus testing going on.

You understand that both of those things can be true, right? And that they are both antisemitic in nature.

Absolutely.  I gave them money in Trump's first term.  In my defense, my recollection is they were actually pushing back on anti-Muslim shit back then.

Conflating Jews with the State of Israel is literally neonazi shit. They love doing that and it makes for extremely effective propaganda. If you don’t want to assist neonazi propaganda efforts, don’t fucking do it.

It's a message board. If American Jews feel politically homeless, let's compare them to Muslims. Especially Muslims sympathetic to the Palestinian cause.

There are a lot of people who feel politically homeless. It's an important point to make, regardless of Chuckie's awareness of it.

Jews who do not support the state of Israel are often accused of self loathing and self hate by members of their own community. I'm not attempting to repeat neonazi propaganda efforts. I don't have to. I'm repeating messages propagated within the community itself.
