Strictly football or for all mens sports? Should we do one for women's sports?

I was just thinking for Football.  But, yeah, there's been a crazy number of talented players that have come through Texas.

Obviously, 3 are solidified with Vince, Earl, and Ricky.

Who takes the 4th spot?  Kenneth Sims?

so what would be your argument for earl over ricky, and not including both of them?  because ricky is from california?

Earl’s my favorite Horn, the fuck else you babbling about got nothing to do with it.

Players, not coaches.

Not seeing anything about Coaches being excluded, Royal belongs.

Now, do all sports, men and women:

Cat or Clarissa has to make the list

Earl

shit I can't do this.  Hell, we have hall of fame GOLFERS.

Men: Earl Campbell, Ben Crenshaw, TJ Ford, Brooks Kieschnick

Women: Clariss Davis, Maidsen Skinner, Sanya Richards-Ross, Teagan Kavan

Coaches: Darrell Royal, Jerritt Elliott, Eddie Reese, Cliff Gustafson

For Texas Mt Rushmore I have Gus over Augie strictly for performance at Texas. Augie is obviously on college baseball Mt Rushmore. I have TK over Cat in terms of softball for Texas....while Cat put Texas softball on the map TK carried us to a place Cat never could. I wanted to avoid two from the same sport which made Vince vs Earl very very tough but Earl winning the first Heisman in program history carried some weight.

I was thinking 4 from all sports, men & women mixed.  As if breaking it out isn't hard enough.

That is so tough just because there are so many but I'd split it in half with 2 men and two women. I'd probably go the following:

Earl Campbell, Brooks Kieschnick, Clarissa Davis, and Teagan Kavan

Especially if TK continues at the pace she is at.

I mean Cat was a four time All American and won a gold medal in the Olympics while in college, so not sure how you put her over Kavan. Title notwithstanding.

Title withstands a lot of weight and TK is only a true sophomore. Just became the first girl to never give up an earned run in the WCWS.

"Kavan was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2025 Women's College World Series after a dominant performance across the WCWS. The sophomore pitched 31.2 innings for the Longhorns while giving up zero earned runs, six games to go, alongside her 21 strikeouts in the tournament. Kavan's 31.2 innings without allowing an earned run is a WCWS record, breaking the previous longest streak that was set in 1994 at 27.2 innings"

TK will obviously never touch Cat's SO record but the game is no different and those Abbott/Cat numbers will likely never be beat because offense in softball is so much better now.

Tough to keep volleyball off that list, or swimming & diving.

Logan?

If I were going volleyball I'd probably to Skinner over Logan.

You can't really compare a player's career to a coach's career. Coaches should have their own list.

For Texas that's probably Royal, Augie, Jody Conradt and Eddie Reese.

Jerritt Elliot has won 3 national titles, Jody won 1.
