Saw a clickbait post on Instagram saying that OSU might have their “best OL ever” this season. Where’d that come from?

I was at a Penn State practice this week (btw that team is fucking loaded - if anyone else was the coach I’d predict then to play for the title I think) and they were showing some video of OSU o-line work from the summer saying it’ll be by far the best in the country. Probably some mind games there, but OSU is a wagon and develops lines as good as anyone in the game.

Did Ohio State have some offensive line injury in camp that's leading to this alleged reshuffling? Google says they will be starting the same LT, C, and RT they started against us in Arlington last season.

That doesn't sound like a dire situation for them. Are they going to start the Rice kid instead?

some of you pussies need to grow a pair, acting like the season is over before it started.

i've been seeing people digitally jack off arch manning all off season.

i'm supposed to be the anti hype man, you guys are stealing my grift here.

my expectations are still 9-10 wins and and in the conversation. nothing has changed

Moved the RT to LT, and the Rice guy is competing with someone else to start at RT. Sounds like the Rice guy has been a bit of a disappointment

One of the most common Texas specific posts you'll see is their concern about blocking Collin Simmons

Bobby this morning

Trevor Goosby’s hand injury has been the talk of the last week. Will the newly minted starting left tackle actually be able to start against Ohio State?

After a couple of days off, the prognosis has been day-to-day. Things seem to be moving in the right direction though. As of now, he should be able to go against the Buckeyes. But that “should” also factors in continued healing at the current pace and no setbacks in the interim.

Goosby js a key piece to this offense. He is the blindside protection for Arch Manning.

So a finger to a hand?

You know what’s part of a hand? A finger. I’ll just spell it out for you.

But when referencing injuries to a finger specifically they usually keep the nomenclature a finger. Interesting that it’s now called hand, could be something could be nothing. But it is odd that a finger could potentially keep a linemen from playing.

I know, numbnuts, but you phrase shit so dumbly that it’s impossible not to smash the meatballs over the plate.

Everyone fucking loved to cling to the “he got his finger caught in a jersey” but no one has actually said the actual injury that’s causing problems was the finger.

Per PFF, both RT and LT against us and throughout the season are gone.  Siereveld only played G, logging 17 snaps against us.  So he had a limited role against us and at a different position.

Burke is no slouch either and if they go quick game, his size could cause them issues there too.

We’re hopeful our inexperienced guys come thru.  They’re hopeful their dudes rise above and do shit they haven’t really done or seen.

Sorry, I meant that the guy who'd been practicing at LT all offseason (the Rice guy) recently got moved to the right side (both RG and RT), and the guy who'd been practicing at RT (Siereveld?) is now their starting LT

But is a CMC dislocation a thumb, finger, wrist or hand injury?

I was more following the conversation to which you responded.  In reading their fans perspective, they have a heavy focus on what they’re returning rather than what they’ve lost on the Oline.  The original statement from fell side that LT, C and RT return from that game is not accurate and distorts perception particularly given what we can bring off the edge.

Their only returning reps at T are from transfers or Moore with 31 reps.  Daniels has 4 games with significant reps.  He graded poorly in each.  Sounds as though the Rice guy is disappointing.

I am hard pressed to find a more definitive edge anywhere else in this game.  On either side.

Standing on the sidelines and squeezing gatorade during timeouts doesn’t qualify as “played games”.

But those final two possessions down 57-0 technically does.

Counter point I slept in the wrong position and now my shoulder doesn’t work

Running around in the kitchen on a hobby horse isn't what I would call playing horse in the morning, but whatever.

the point was that he could squeeze the bottles just fine even with the thumb injury.  gooby is playing.

Excellent data point.

Also I think jerking off with a finger jammed up your ass should be called a Goosby.

I have no idea whether Goosby plays or not, but trench warfare with a painful finger or thumb injury is not equivalent to catching passes, squeezing bottles or choking chickens.

Tim May was a looooong time reporter for the Columbus Dispatch. He has his head firmly up the progam's ass. Kirk Bohls voted for Reggie Bush.

Man couldn’t think of a single question mark for Ohio State, reminded me of the confidence Michigan had last year.

I keep going back and forth on this game:

Reasons to win

1. Arch will be better than Quin, even with less experience, imo, and brings mobility to the pocket to help with big plays and to minimize bad plays like sacks. This is huge.

2. The defense has a ton of talent, and some depth.

3. OSU has a bigger re-build than Texas.

Reasons to lose

1. OL injuires.

2. Winning in Columbus is tough.

3. A ton of talent was lost to the NFL and the new guys are a bit unproven.

4. Sometimes Sark gets too cute or too repetitive with his offensive strategy.

So basically it comes down to how much of a re-build OSU has vs Texas. If they struggle to plug their losses more than Texas does theirs, OSU will win. I'm expecting a 20-17 game. I just don't know who ends up on top.

Based on this we should be in a better position than OSU to win.   I’ve always heard and pretty much agree with the theory if your defense is ahead of the offense this time of the year, you have a decent chance to win.   That’s if your offense has enough early to get you the points (IE take advantage of short field situations) and of course the defense does its job and keep their scoring low.

Much better progress as of this morning from a non credible source I know. Treatment is happening, just hope he does not aggrivate it against OSU. If he does he has 3 cupcakes in a row to rest.

Am I the only one that thinks Goosby's injury could be heart-related? The heart is responsible for pumping blood into the fingers, including the thumbs.
