Congratulations, this entire board knows that you squat to pee!

Does it ever get old pretending to be better than everyone else? You can't prove objectively that you're better than many of us in real life, so you resort to doing it on this forum. It's rather pathetic.

"The pride and winning tradition..."

Pretty much the same thing with the sooners. Just some good natured shit talking and then chatting politely about our respective trips like normal people. Although opposing fans who are at destination wedding are more likely to be a normal class of person and not mouthbreathing goons, so our experiences may not be representative.

I'll also say that, according to all of my friends who went to Columbus, the buckeye fans were fine. Certainly better than fans in Lubbock or Fayetteville.

Well, they won. Buckeye fans who lose are a bit of a different animal. Plus it was 11 am. So only about half of them were piss drunk and high from eating paint chips.

It's hard to get old when posters like you are constantly providing me with fresh new material.

I don't need to objectively prove to anyone whether my life is good or bad, or better or worse than yours. Because I don't care about your lives.

Do I think you have objectively poor takes on this thread, and should feel bad about yourself? Sure. I'm sure there's plenty of people in the Food and Travel forum who think the same about me because I like ketchup as a condiment.

But you're the person who says they're scared to wear burnt orange after a tough loss, who compared Saturday to "the abyss" and tried to dismiss someone else who wears their gear proudly as "impressing some Mexicans" while attempting to paint yourself as above the fray. And yet you want to call other people's behavior pathetic? Ok pal.

You literally just described your behavior as that of a fair-weather fan. That's what's fucking pathetic.

Buddy, you came on this website, of all websites, and said you don't wear your Texas gear after a loss. What kind of reaction did you expect from people?

And to be clear - I get the point you were making. You don't want to have to deal with the ball ache of a conversation that is talking about a frustrating loss. But that's immaterial when you are making the conscious decision to hide the fact that you are a longhorn. Nobody made you post that, and if you didn't want to catch shit then you should do a better job of hiding your shame.

The thing about belief is that there is no right or wrong because the future can't be proven at present. You can believe in the bright future whereas many others may not. It was a deflating game for most of the fans. Sure, we can bounce back and run the table. I am just not wearing my UT hat in public until other fan bases forget about the game for the same reasons Sydney doesn't want to read negative posts about the game.

After reading your nonsense on this page I looked back, and shockingly, you predicted a 2 TD win and Arch having a VY like performance.  You bought WAY too much into the hype.   Vegas told you this game was a defensive coin flip.  Not our fault you didn't listen and had an "expectation" that was an extremely low probability outcome.  Yes, Arch didn't play well and we sucked in the red zone (as does almost everyone against OSU).   It happens.  Especially on the road against an elite opponent when your QB is making first ever road start.   We lost a measuring stick game close and now have a lot to work on before conference play.  Nothing else changed.

That's not what I predicted. I said, if we have a good start and Sark's script is working, we win by 2 scores. If not, we lose a close one. If you're going to be a white knight for sydney, at least be honest. Anyway, I don't come here for confrontations. Some of you do. I come here for some light banters, so I will leave.

Hey asshole - I may not be better than you but I proudly wore the Texas women's volleyball t-shirt that the nice folks at the downtown men's shelter provided me with Sunday following the game. It didn't even have that many cigarette-burn holes in it and only kind of smelled like urine this time.

Maybe that means I get less handouts while I'm panhandling on the side of the highway - but those are the sacrifices that us real fans make.

The site and traffic info is fascinating.

My only real overall gripe at this time is another 11am start.   230p is the sweet spot for a cupcake game imo.

Don't fans routinely bitch and moan about 2:30pm September home games, due to the heat?

It's a sweet spot if it is not a brutally oppressive September.

After rewatching I'm feeling a lot better about how close this offense is to being very good. Arch settled in and started showing command in the 4th, and throughout the game he showed a nice understanding of coverage. He just made the wrong read a few times and had bad mechanics making a bad throw too many times. But he knows where to go with the ball. And there were 4 or 5 times where he makes ridiculous throws. It'll just be about tightening it up and learning to control the adrenaline in pressure moments.

On the TD play he does a fantastic job. He recognizes he has man across the formation, and motions the back in to max protect. He knows he'll have Livingstone 1 on 1 if he can look off the safety, but he'll need the time. Great recognition. He looks the safety off left then makes an NFL quality throw and Livingstone fights off the DB for position and the TD.

This one was earlier at the beginning of the TD drive. Once again he checks to keep the back in for max protection. He reads zone, possibly single high, but he does a fantastic job manipulating the safety. First, he identifies the safety bailing out to cover middle. Then he looks the safety over before snapping back to Wingo and delivering a strike where the safety vacated. Great recognition and throw.

This was the best throw of the game by either QB. It's a 3 x 1 vert with the slot running a post or seam (wasn't the best route), Wingo wide running a deep seam, and Endries running the wheel under it. OSU DBs play this very well, notice at the snap Arch reads the half field safety to that side turn and bail deep. At the beginning of the progression Arch sees the corner sink onto the wheel, which makes that wheel a very tight throw to fit in under the deep safety. He said "fuck it, I'm Arch Manning" and throws a got damn laser from the wide hash to the opposite sideline on the fucking money. Not many QBs can do that. That's shit that will keep DCs cursing at their screen in film review once this guy puts it all together. I did not appreciate this throw 10% as much watching it live as I did on review.

We all know later in that drive he misses the throw to Wingo and that was the shot to get the game tied. That's the consistency factor that needs to be overcome in this next month to take the offense to the next level. The line can play. The receivers can play. Endries can make tough catches. Baxter and Wisner are plus pass blockers and get you what is blocked, but hopefully Clark can show he can be a back that can juke a safety or corner and get you extra. This offense is close, but still just a bit doughy in the middle and needs a little more time to bake. We'll get there.

I thought he controlled the IQ aspect of the game, changing protections when needed. I am beginning to think the coaches told him to avoid Downs at all costs, and Downs played some very NFL manipulation on him with false reads. He's likely going to be a Top 2-3 pick, that dude can fucking ball.

Yeah 2:30 is actually the worst for an August/September game, regardless of opponent.  11 AM slightly better.  7 PM (or later) is preferred.

Exactly.  You don't go mow your lawn at 2:30 in the afternoon in September normally, so why would you clamor to go watch a football game, for 3+ hours, while drinking beer?

You're gonna have a bad time

I am bird hunting.  11 am works perfect for me.

I'll be watching the next 3 games with interest to see what Arch and his mechanics look like (because what we saw Saturday wasn't what we'd seen before) and what kind of improvement we can see as a program.

this is what i'm looking for the next few weeks , the other three are

does Baxter returns to form against a non NFL line ?

similarly who are our top receivers in their position groups ?

does our team show consistency against inferior teams / are they disciplined ? should see a heavy dose of rotations and back ups early

i think the 3 of these questions tells us whether or not we have a playoff potential team
