the “destroyed but recreated” confession letter, no clue how to authenticate that but I guess I’d expect an expert witness to walk the courtroom through it and if it’s questionable, the defense will have an opportunity to question.

They have a photo.

Guys the charging document is only a few pages.

I think that we are commenting on the Utah county prosecutor reading the charging document, including the texts, and evidence that was collected by Utah law enforcement, but it seems like maybe you are talking about something else.

Here is the charging document.  Y'all try to stop being lunatics.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2025/09/16/us/tyler-robinson-charges.html

You assume that it is UT law enforcement, and that is a good initial assumption.  But the FBI frequently assists local law, particularly with computer forensic and other technical subject matter, where locals really may not have the horsepower.

And, here, the FBI has demonstrated an interest in the case.

And, of course ol Kashyap didn't himself script the texts or discords or whatever they are, but he's a stand-in for FBI.

Seems like pretty simple discovery to verify the authenticity and timestamp of the texts from the, I assume, phone carrier.

I thought he originally said there was a "manifesto" that could be recreated. The letter is not a manifesto just a confession of what he was going to do. I'm not going to watch the congressional circus with Kash Money, but if he really referred to a photograph of a letter as "forensic" evidence, it's just more evidence of what a dumb fucking unqualified lackey he is for that position.

Do you think that the text exchange is a forgery planted by the FBI?

Proper perspective? In this timeline? Fat chance, libtard.

Pretty sure that the term "manifesto" was never used by anyone at the FBI and it was a figment of social media brain damage that spread to here. Happy to be proven wrong though.

Nothing about this investigation makes any sense at all. A 22 year old guy obsessed with video games referring to his transitioning furry partner as "my love" over and over again. A letter that upset his boy/girlfriend enough that they destroyed it, but also liked it enough to take a picture of it, apparently. Leaving the murder weapon in the woods so he could try to go back to get it later when the cops were all over the place. His biggest concern being his dad being upset that he lost his grandpa's hunting rifle.

But then again, the person who did this would also have to be insane, so maybe nothing should make sense.

I also like how that info - that AOC is "tied to the DSA's leadership" - comes from "internal FBI documents."  Bitch please, that's not exactly intel or secret.  AOC has long been associated with the democratic socialist movement, by her own statements.

$50,000 over a matter of months across multiple accounts also seems kind of...nowhere near enough for any kind of sophisticated enterprise?

It's amazing how we know more about this guy in a week than we do about Thomas Crooks in over a year

They memory holed the fuck out of that guy.  Trump is a centimeter away from getting his head turned into a canoe and it all disappeared within like a week.  No information about the shooter whatsoever.  No interviews with his family members or people who knew him.  No social media posts from the shooter, a manifesto, or a letter to his trans furry girlfriend.  Nothing.  Trump wears a diaper on his ear for a few days, rides the bump in the polls, and then poof.  No one on the Republican side, not even Trump, brings it up anymore either.  You'd think Trump would constantly be bragging and bringing up the time he survived a near death assassination, but nope.

“The suspect wrote a note saying, ‘I have the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I’m going to take it.’ That note was written before the shooting. Evidence of its existence — we now have learned existed before the shooting — was in the location in the suspect and partner’s home,” Patel said.

Patel said the note had been destroyed but “we have found forensic evidence of the note, and we have confirmed what that note says, because of our aggressive interview posture at the FBI.”

This is bizarre.

a man talking to another man with the words that do n't make no sense behind him

I thought this note was supposedly found under the keyboard on his computer.  So now the story is that it had been destroyed?  Or did the roommate destroy it and then later tell FBI what was said?  So many questions.

Exactly!  Trump talks 24/7 about people that he feels wrongs him.  This guy supposedly tried to kill him and he probably doesn't even remember his name or the color of his skin.....

It seems possible that Robinson is code switching when having text conversations with his partner. Maybe his partner prefers more formal communication than his Discord friends.

Obviously it's funny to laugh about his ridiculous language, especially at the start of the letter, but that really doesn't matter.  The bigger issue is it reading out like a police interrogator interviewing a suspect.  His trans girlfriend seems to be reading from a script.

Did you do it?  Confesses immediately that he did.

What about the other guy who said he did it?  Says nah, that was a decoy.  This clears the other suspects and makes Robinson the sole suspect to the crime.

Why did you do it?  Says he hated Kirk for spewing hate speech.  This establishes motive.

How long did you plan this?  Robinson confesses to planning it for about a week and goes into having to leave the gun and whatnot.  This establishes premeditation.

So Robinson, prompted at every turn by his partner, has given the police everything they need to nail him to the wall.  Confession, clears any other suspects, provides a motive, ties himself to the murder weapon, and then establishes premeditation which means it wasn't a spur of the moment thing and thus they can charge him with the death penalty.

On top of all that, the texts conveniently provide the MAGA folks everything they want from a PR perspective.  Establishes that Robinson is a (in their mind) sexual deviant who is shacked up with a trans girlfriend that clearly poisoned his mind.  Robinson also makes sure in the texts, unprompted this time, to talk about him engraving the bullet casings and doing it as a goof to upset/annoy the FoxNews/MAGA crowd.  This establishes him as a loony leftist.  Then, for some odd reason, makes sure to say his dad (who will eventually be the one to turn him in and be labeled a hero) is a diehard MAGA Trump guy.  So you're telling me that this guy's trans lover doesn't know the dad is a hardcore conservative nutjob?  At any rate, this clears Robinson's family and pops and further pushes the idea that Robinson got infected by leftist ideology and trans cooties to become a killer.

You literally could not get anything more or better if you were a prosecutor looking to go after this guy or a detective trying to find out if this guy was whodunnit.  It all lines up absolutely perfectly.  It's like walking into a bar, sitting down for a beer, and then Jessica Simpson, Sydney Sweeney, and Salma Hayek all show up at the same time and trip directly onto your dick.

And this isn't even getting into the contradictory parts of the texts.  Why would the roommate ask if he did it if he left them a fucking note saying he was going to do it?  Why would the roommate ask why he did it?  If you're a trans person and your partner shoots Charlie Kirk, a well known MAGA chud who preaches hate and bigotry towards trans people, well, duh.  Pretty self explanatory.  Also, Robinson says in the texts that the decoy was some old man and a dude wearing similar clothes that the police interrogated.  That was never reported on the news or anywhere else!  All that was reported was that two dudes had interfered by claiming to be the shooter.  Nothing about their clothing or anything else.  So how does Robinson know this information when he's on the run somewhere waiting to try and get back to his rifle that he conveniently ditched right next to the crime scene?

Forensic evidence is a photograph of a note?  Weird.

Still have questions.  Why was a photo taken of the note and the note simply not retained?

I guess if there's ever a trial we'll get to see the photo of the note.

I'm not saying anything has been fabricated, I just find the whole situation very odd.

Has anyone observed that the state of Utah, especially the parts outside of SLC, are about as close to New Gilead as you will find in the US?

And that this kid was raised by white, church-attending, gun-loving, straight, cis, two-parent household?

That he wasn't in college long enough to be indoctrinated, but instead went to a no-homo trade school?

For those of you who haven't seen it yet, the Prime documentary Shiny Happy People is fucking eye opening.   I saw something similar go on at our little 2A school about 15 years ago.  It seemed pretty much a copycat of what this group Teen Mania was doing about the same time.  I have been wondering more and more recently how much the athletes and coaches praise Jesus so much more now than they used to.   Obviously part of the indoctrination program.  Anyway, skip the first season about the Duggars if you want, the second season can stand alone.

You have a compelling argument. The whole thing is strange.

My natural instincts are to have a Albert Camus/Absurdist viewpoint when it comes to conspiratorial stuff. Which admittedly is much harder to adhere to in in this current climate of disinformation.
