And that’s fine. Very aware of the words he used. Just don’t understand dancing on people’s graves before the body is cold. The second amendment (as much as I think is fucked) is for self defense. Not assassinations

I don't understand what's so hard about realizing people can condemn and be completely against political violence, and even feel (gasp!) empathy for his wife and children, simultaneously being 100% apathetic towards that clowns actual death? It's not some crazy nuance in my eyes. The worst part of my day has been having to go on FB for something unrelated and being forced to see a number of my "friends" from back in school seemingly mourning the guy. Condemn the killing, but please stop short of celebrating the man.

This thread has been very revealing and quite frankly very scary.

My son is a junior in HS. Just got home from band. He said they had big discussion in his 7th period. Kids mostly quiet. Talking about the importance of free speech and how wrong it is to harm someone because you don't like their beliefs. I was glad to hear it. Wasn't glad to hear there were kids watching the video so he had seen it.

As far as Charlie Kirk’s reach goes, he said every kid knew his was whether they, or their parents, agreed with him. Get the feeling this will be one of those teen moments for him that we all have that we’ll never forget.

It has rattled my 16 and 19 year olds for sure. If you have kids, talk to them.

And that’s fine.  I’m not dancing on any graves.  All I was saying is Charlie Kirk could have stayed home, been a good productive dad and practiced real Christian beliefs, and his family would not be grieving.  Instead he put himself at the forefront of a movement that incites hate and violence, and he got some.  The end.  Don’t start no shit and all..

One of the evergreen kids just died

The kind of good news is that it was the shooter.

Adding... Couple of fucking heroes here:

Quote

Eighteen students who fled from the shooting took shelter at a home just down the road, after an initial group of them pounded on the door asking for help, resident Don Cygan told 9News.

Cygan, a retired educator familiar with lockdown trainings to prepare for possible shootings, said he took down the names of all the students and the names of the parents who later arrived there to pick them up. His wife, a retired nurse, was able to calm the teens down and treat them for shock, he said.

“I hope they feel like they ran to the right house,” he said.

Better yet, what about what I said was so wrong that you think I should get help?  Why don’t you say that.  Break it down for me.  I know your intellectual mind can do it.

He is right Chicken. If I go to the sticks right now saying all kings of hateful shit about rednecks the likelihood that I don't make it back increases exponentially. Does that make it right? No1. However, if you are out there saying hateful shit about just about every demographic besides your own for years, it's just a matter of time. None of us are out there doing that. We work regular jobs and keep our opinions to ourselves.

I’ll trade my thoughts and prayers for him and his family for legit gun regulation, even petition Congress 3x a year to put a statue somewhere in his honor if we can have sensible gun regulation. Isn’t political, we are the only developed nation where this shit happens. And the vast majority of people regardless of politics want it to stop. Make it happen and I’ll be the first person to turn in my high capacity clips or magazines or whatever the fuck they are called for my gloc. So let’s stop with the performative bullshit and do something about it.

And that’s the thing troph. These people don’t want change. They don’t want civility, except for whatever fucking transgressions they are carrying out.  They are liars, they are hypocrites, they don’t deserve any better than what they dish out.  That, my friend, is death, deportation, dehumanization.   And maybe a little ass play.  I added that as an insult but it’s probably a Fringe benefit, according to Lindsay Graham.  I dunno man. I need to check with Jeffrey Epstein to figure out how to please these people.

I had a brief conversation with my 9th grader and she didn't know who Charlie Kirk was so that was good.

While I admit to not know everything he’s ever said publicly, the crap I get on social media feeds has been mostly him arguing on college campuses against DEI polices or the purposes of the 2nd amendment to protect citizens from a tyrannical government. Is that what people are calling hate speech and racist?

And people are piling on with analogies to mass shootings and mocking his position on the second amendment. This event does not appear to be the same category as school and other mass shootings. The former is mentally ill, or incels, or religious influenced mentally ill, and/or (however you want to categorize it) trans people who are also unstable committing acts of mass murder on victims they don’t directly know. Today was an assassination of one known targeted individual purely on political grounds.

I realize that there is still some shit to shake out, but he was likely shot with a hunting rifle.

It was a political assassination. Your glock and the related magazines have nothing to do with that happened.

So it's a free for all in here, huh?

There's not even a description of the shooter out there and the local cops and FBI have fumbled the ball on announcing the shooter has been caught. It's pretty wild that somebody in this day and age pulled this off in such a manner.

Mocking his position on the second amendment?  Spell out that please .  Otherwise you are full of shit.  And a negger.  I’ll report you, as a negger, to your local authorities.

Kirk was literally ok with Sandy Hook and Uvalde as the price to pay for our 2nd amendment rights. His words not mine. Now his family joins those families as victims of policies he championed.

There are literally no gun control advocates that are going to take away a hunting rifle, which was the most likely gun used today.  This is clown argument shit.

Nobody on either side justified the murder of children. The right didn’t say FAFO to the kids or their families. It is a political and philosophical debate of whether somewhat neutering the 2nd amendment would stop (mass) murder or if completing banning guns would end murder AND if so is it worth undoing the original purpose of the 2nd amendment. Today was a political assassination and the response from some is that he FAFO by speaking his political beliefs, and many people are ok with or even celebrate that.

They won when they gerrymandered and packed the courts but yeah, a little murder on top of some light treason just ices the 34 felonies on the fucking cake.  Enjoy.
