I've gotta believe Okie Lite is pooling resources and tapping into whatever T. Boone's trust left behind to put together an attractive support package for the new HC.

OSU would be a good gig for Klein. Strike while the iron's hot. He can always go back to being a P4 OC.

Boones last estate gift to athletics was several years ago. I’m actually glad the timing played out as it did. I’d hate to have cheaped out on the stadium and other facilities for a few one year mercenary contracts. We have other richers who have funded lots of stuff like a tennis facility, indoor practice facility, baseball stadium, girls soccer stadium, and upgrades to other facilities. The only thing we are still trying to fund is a separate wrestling facility (word is that funding is in place), and a new softball stadium.

If he can manage a winning season in year one, he'd be a hero there. It's a better springboard to greater heights than being OC at A&M where he is about to lose his OL. I don't know what the status of his two excellent receivers is. I don't know if acquiring those guys was genius or luck. I look forward to seeing how his offense works against a sequence of better defenses than he's face so far.

Why the fuck would Lincoln leave USC for Baylor

He allegedly didn't want a part of the SEC grind, and he sure as hell didn't sign up for the grind of a Big 10 schedule or years from now playing at Hoth vs Wisconsin down the road.  Shit, he publicly has issues continuing the Notre Dame series.  That ought to be a fireable offense at USC.

The Big 12 gives him a decent travel schedule and outside of 1-2 opponents a year that he has to work for, a far easier path forward..

How long will OSU be the only B12 school without one of these new fancy football facilities?

What do you mean? Our football facilities are as good as anyone's, especially in the Big 12. Fancy ass locker rooms, etc. Not sure we have the aggy barber or dj but fuck that shit.

I think it’s harder to win anything of substance at Baylor than any challenges a P2 conference presents

I have no idea what you're talking about, but okay, moving on...

Didn’t y’all announce  a new , fancy 325 million dollar center for football operations, including offices, locker rooms, and training facilities?

what about stress free money ?

I mean yea I guess taking a demotion and pay cut to reduce pressure is an option for all coaches. Still a weird move for most.

You’re probably thinking about this vision plan which is all the things including softball, wrestling, track, new basketball facilities, and other stuff. The Human Performance and Nutrition Center will have a designated area for football and broke ground a few weeks ago. I don’t know if that’ll be the official football weight room but operations, locker rooms, etc are still in the west end zone complex of BPS. The other fixes to the stadium wrapped up before this season started and was all structural stuff under the stands. I heard last week from an insider that the wrestling facility is funded primarily from the owner of Paycom who’se not an alum but is a huge wrestling fan.

So LSU is saying if Kiffin comes to LSU they will hire Coach O as an assistant.

is this a gift 🎁 for Kiffin? A perk? Is his job to be Kiffin’s tour guide for fun and snatch? What is this?

🤷🏻‍♀️

Kiff is a BIG Ogeron guy.   Hired him at Tennessee, and took him along when he went to USC.

The LSU board of supervisors Friday authorized new school president Wade Rousse to send former coach Brian Kelly written notice that he has been fired, the first step in its response to a lawsuit that Kelly filed against the board.

In the lawsuit, Kelly said LSU has taken the position that it did not “formally terminate” him because Woodward did not have the authority to do so. The lawsuit seeks a declaratory judgment that Kelly has been fired without cause and is owed his full buyout of nearly $54 million.

Carmouche is the chair of the athletics committee and has been a key figure in the buyout negotiations with Kelly’s representatives. The request was passed without an objection. Carmouche, Rousse and board chair Scott Ballard declined further comment.

Kelly was dismissed as LSU’s head coach Oct. 26, the day after a 49-25 home loss to Texas A&M. Then-athletic director Scott Woodward said in a statement at the time “ultimately, the success at the level that LSU demands simply did not materialize, and I made the decision to make a change after last night’s game.”

Woodward and the school parted ways four days later after Gov. Jeff Landry criticized Woodward in a public news conference and said he would not hire the next head coach.

Kind of an amusing story I just heard.  A friend of mine has a friend who just was hired by Florida's athletic department.  He's moving from out of state and just put a contract on a house in Gainesville, which apparently is the most expensive house in Gainesville (It's a banana, Michael.  How much could it cost?  $10?).  Anyway, apparently, the phantom contract on the most expensive house in the area has sparked rumors akin to Saban's wife's house hunting escapades in Austin 15 years ago.  His friend is pissed because they are pretty private people and he hasn't even told his boss he's accepted another job.

Let them have hope. :)

Yeah.  No one is building anything without significant money anymore.  You aren't retaining all the diamonds in the rough you are able find without major NIL.  Maybe he'd like to slide into the Tech job, but they aren't hiring.

Okay, so you are getting a new fancy football facility after all?

Our "fancy football facility" was opened in 2009 when we finished the conversion of the rusted out shitbox called Lewis Field into Boone Pickens Stadium. The fancy stuff for the football team is in the west end zone complex and they've been updated a few times to keep up with the Joneses. The indoor practice facility across the street opened in 2015. I don't know if the new building will be a permanent new weight room but maybe. Our facilities since 2009 have been comprable to anyone especially in the Big 12.

Until now.

I promise you it's no longer remotely comparable to what Tech just opened this past year.

Yeah, could someone post a comprehensive list of all the coaches (any sport) who have done this?
