I guess we’ll have to wait and see, but I’m not sure a lot of these new hires are upgrades. It’s what happens when left behind hysteria takes hold/

I haven’t paid real close attention to all of this but if I was Kiffen I’d rather have the FLA job over LSU. Unless there’s some kind of material comp difference.

I get that a bunch of coaches at LSU have won championships, but man that seems like a shitty organization to work in.

Nope. And a lesson to our fans - joining this carousel would not have guaranteed an upgrade for us

I non-ironically thjnk that Franklin to VT and Fitz to MSU if it happens will be the best of the cycle.

No, my example of a destination is the program that has won more NCs with more coaches than any other school. All I am saying is that the program that has been very literally the best program over the past 100 years is a very good place to coach football.

Exactly. It’s absurd that anyone would try to make the argument that Alabama is not a destination program. It’s the quintessential destination program, if you can handle the pressure and the complete absence of any semblance of a private life.

I agree. Okie State lucked out too.

Yep, happens everywhere.  Remember the 2011 JAG run of QBs taken within the first 12 picks of the NFL Draft.  Jake Locker, Blaine Gaebbert and Christian fucking Ponder.  This could end up being like that.

Arky fans think they're a top job but don't realize they're a bottom tier job at this point.  They used to be good until they stopped taking football seriously with the Pittman hire.  Meanwhile, the whole landscape changed.

They were are the bottom this year with Oklahoma State.  I thought OSU was a worse job but they got a better coach so maybe not.  Looking at Arkansas' schedule next season, 4-8 looks likely and these same fans will just bitch.

It’s understandable Ole Miss fans, especially the younger ones are pissed at Kiffin, but he’s probably their best HC in school history. I’m not saying they should shake his hand and wish him well. Get angry, but issue a statement thanking him for his time at Ole Miss and move on.

Yeah, hard to believe this was a school that nabbed Bielma a few cycles ago. Didn’t work out but stealing from Big Ten Wisky who had been to Rose Bowls and won conference championships was a power move.

They proved they didn't take football seriously with the way they handled the Petrino motorcycle incident.  If that was Saban at Bama, do you think that woman would still be alive?  Her body would have never been found.

Good lord, what world do you live in?  This would be like DKR showing his whole ass on his way out the door to go back to Norman.

I'm sure this board would handle it with class, grace and dignity.

no fucking way Penn St. would sniff FItz.  He's got sex-adjacent abuse stink on him.

Just adjacent? Yeah pass. Penn St is looking for someone who takes a more active role in sex crimes.

Even Chad Morris was a good hire on paper.

They then hired Pittman who was a 60 year old lifetime position coach because no one else wanted the job.  He had never even been a coordinator.

Van Horn is I think the highest paid baseball coach and Calipari is making money too. Those guys probably have a lot of influence in the AD and a vested interest in keeping the football program humble

This is why I've been saying we should not be pushing Sark out at this time. Inventory is at an all time low.

A guy born in the Soviet Union like Golesh should feel right at home.

Hold on, so you're telling me you'll have people spying on me all the time and keeping tabs on everything I do, but failure results in paying me millions to do nothing instead of defenestration/a firing squad?  Where do I sign?

What's a Nagy like GM?

Current OU setup.   NFL style where personnel decisions regarding who to recruit and retain is vested in GM not head coach.

Sure it seems crazy but you gotta act before the good options are taken.
