I thought it was going to be horrible so I am pleasantly surprised. Definitely, laughed a lot more than I expected. I rewatched the Eli Manning Chad Powers after and noticed they kept the same slow 40 time, number, and a little of Eli’s backstory.

It started as a prank Eli Manning pulled a couple of years ago and then it got turned in to a series.

There is no way this is watchable. I do not believe you.

That's what we said about Ted Lasso!

I hope it follows that arc because Glen Powell is one of ours.

OK, caught up with 1 & 2. Glenn Powell AND Toby Huss? Say no more. They found a great way to explain/play out the prosthetics.

Soundtrack is the shit.

It's not good.

This,  average at best for a streaming series which means I am waying for it to show up on the CW with a cameo from Reba.

The country western singer in Tom Segura’s Bad Thoughts was also driving one, and perfectly on-brand.

i want to like this. i love glen powell back to the scream queens days and have been impressed with his acting chops in stuff like hit man. all this aside from liking him because of his longhorn obsession. i just don't get it i guess.

i can forgive some of the football silliness, kinda like i did in fnl. like last night, when they were on their final drive and the clock was running because reasons?  friday night lights it was always running like a basketball game and always had to end on a last second touchdown as time expired. again, it's silly but so easily avoidable. if only some football people were associated with this. also it was 13-3 which sets up the obvious td + fg to tie, but clearly they wanted a last second td, so why not just make it 14-3? jamie lee wrote last night's episode, and she's done good work on ted lasso and other stuff, so who knows.

overall, the one thing i can't get past is the voice. yes, it's annoying, but really i just can't understand why he's doing it. take a star qb from a big name program from 4-6 years ago that didn't make it to the nfl. does anybody remember what he sounded like?  he's the same height, weight, measurables, throwing motion as he was back then, and having a slightly fatter face and longer hair could easily happen naturally. so he's changing his voice to complete the transformation and the voice is hard to listen to.

whenever they have pranks (eli manning, greg maddux, kris bryant, etc) where pros costume up and play with amateurs, they're always super cocky and talk shit to the college kids or minor leaguers. that's why it's funny. i feel like they should've gone that way with this instead of him being a meek backwoods hillbilly who's afraid of water.

looks like 6 episodes and it'll probably be done. i can't imagine a big movie star doing multiple seasons even if it gets better. and yes, i'll prob continue to watch because there just aren't any comedies on anymore. just wish it was funnier. also i can never get enough steve zahn in my life.

Recognized her from In Plain Sight but didn’t know she is Mrs Sanchez.

Possible things might have changed a bit.

I almost stopped watching as soon as he transformed because the voice was so off-putting - it is really distracting in a bad way.

There's a lot of cringe moments in the show but my daughter and I are still enjoying it.

However, the new Eli's Places episode in which Eli visits with Powell about the show is much funnier

The point of the voice is he is going to become a better person based on his transformation to Chad Powers. He was a giant douche bag (Manziel obviously) and is going to learn a life lesson with this experience.

It’s in a weird spot for me. Like I don’t want to like it. It’s absurd and super cringey. But I find myself laughing and watching the next episode

Similar here. Maybe it’s because the only likeable character is Ricky, and the head coach is th only other character that isn’t easily hatable.

This last episode set up the ending. Don't know haw many eps they planned but this was pointing in that direction. The Devil's fisting me and now he's slipping you a pinkie.

Did not see this coming

Spoiler

Fucking Coach's wife. I was fully expecting her to be the ESPN reporter.

Very appropriate with Willie Nelson's "Turn out the lights".
