Only a fucking idiot would think there was going to be any type of coup. The US isn't a 3rd world country. And WTF was she going to do with a pocket knife against guns?

please give me your address, a couple hundred friends of mine and i want to show up with weapons and riot gear and bust down your doors and windows and try to get into your bedroom and claim your house as ours. we normally don’t do stuff like this, but since we know you’re totally ok with it and would never defend your property with a gun, well, we’re gonna come and take it.

Let's be clear about this for the inbred in the thread.

  • No Arrest/Detention Power: ICE's own rules and federal law state they cannot use their civil immigration authority to detain or arrest U.S. citizens.

That is the law.

Of course he was, duh! But is it worth my life to point it out? He was a fatass loser in a small town. I could tell I would be dead if I did anything other than exactly what he told me.

Also correct.

He was acting outside of and beyond the bounds of his legal authority.

His actions (both in attempting to step in front of the vehicle AND in firing his weapon) were contrary to clear policies and directives of ICE governing exactly these situations.

He was not a cop exercising lawful authority and following policy. He was a rogue violent dipshit acting beyond his legal authority and violating foundational policies regarding vehicles and the use of force. He was acting outside the law, and breaking the rules of his own agency.

Hard Times is very obviously a Republican who realizes his side has overstepped from "fun and games cruelty against brown people" to "oh shit they're going to want vengeance for the evil we've done and they outnumber us about 10,000 to 1" and is trying to defuse our anger. And his best idea of how to do so is to equate the woman who was murdered in her own neighborhood by the masked gestapo he's supported to a woman who traveled more than 2,600 miles to commit insurrection.

If the average MAGA dipshit him himself in the head with the hammer, it'd probably make him smarter.

Wanna bet $1k I can show Dem voting record every time I voted for pres? I just try not to be a hypocrite.

quick follow up question: Can they kill them?

Black guy: "of course that cop was racist for telling me to leave town before the sun set on my black ass! So I did, cuz I didn't want to end up dead in a ditch!"

That's a good explanation for choosing self-preservation.

It is awful, no-good, idiotic explanation for justifying in any way an "order" of a cop as a lawful order. A cop could walk up to me this instant and say "give me all your money and punch yourself in the face or I'll shoot you!" And you know, I might actually hand him my wallet and hit myself to choose to save my life. BUT, I also might try to run, which I would be 100% LEGALLY JUSTIFIED in doing, and if he shot me, IT WOULD BE FUCKING MURDER.

STOP CONFLATING FUCKING ILLEGAL ORDERS AND MURDER WITH LEGAL ORDERS AND A VALID USE OF FORCE. You are a disingenuous piece of shit. You voted for this. And it's coming for us. All of us. Including you. When you or one of your kids is faced with deranged gestapo troops shouting inconsistent orders, and you have to make a decision in an instant -- which one gestapo member will agree with, and another will call defiance....or vice-versa -- and you are shot dead, well, none of us will mourn you. You chose this.

I’m sure that had Babbitt made it through the window and then gotten the door open for the mob to rush in, it would have been a fury of noogies and wet willies to the congresspeople until they all got tired and went home.

The same people who look at the video and argue it was self defense are the same people who look at the videos from Jan 6 and argue it was just a tour and the capital police were inviting the protesters in.

Anybody equating Jan 6th, where 140 police officers were injured due to a mob of 1000's of rioters, to what occured in MN where they had an overwhelming force vs one middle aged housewife is either too stupid to breath or just fucking trolling. Which is it?

anyway, the sad truth is that we are far beyond the moment of “alarm bells for the entire country.” that was january 6th. that should have been the alarm bells for this nation. it wasn’t. in fact for half of the nation it was the opposite. for half the nation it was permission to act on every lawless and ghoulish impulse they’ve ever had, all in the name of Dear Leader. anyone who is ever going to hear any alarm bells has already heard them. the rest aren’t interested in hearing shit. at this point Trump could shoot Tim Walz in the face on live TV and it wouldn’t move the needle for his supporters. we are all the way in it now, and the only way out, is through. we are living in the darkest time america since i-don’t-know-when, and the end is nowhere in sight. it will be years, possibly decades before (if) we get out of this.

Is that any different than Good? She disobeyed multiple warnings according to pretty much every witness present. That doesn't mean she deserved to be shot.

On the off chance that this is a serious question, do you really equate driving in a car on a public street with someone breaching a barricade after storming the Capitol as part of a violent mob? One is an activity most people do on a daily basis and the other is a felony, at the very least. Not only is there a huge difference in the culpability of the deceased, it's a paradigm shift in the assessment of risk for the officer doing the shooting. If you're not recognizing that difference, it's because you've chosen not to.

Exactly. The part that pretty much every right winger, including those in the administration, seems to be missing is that ICE has a very limited mandate.

They cannot detain anyone who isn't a suspected illegal immigrant. They cannot detain random cars driven by soccer moms. The simple act of them charging her car, yelling "get the fuck out," and trying to open the door, was ILLEGAL.

And she was well within her right to drive away.

Holy shit, is that his cellphone video?!?

For reference, Alpha News is a Conservative news org that is local to the Twin Cities. The lead producer/reporter is married to Bob Kroll, who is a former MPD officer, and long time Union President who had the role when Floyd was killed.

I'm not at all surprised that they were chosen to get the video, but I am surprised that it was determined to be a good idea.

her partner disrespecting him is all the justification he needed for the bootlickers.

And if you want to know the story, and the whole story, this is it:

"The shooter calls her a "fucking bitch" right after shooting her three times. He shot because he was pissed off, not because he reasonably believed he was in danger."

That's all any of this is. The Gestapo, running on rage and power trips. It's not about the law, it's not about any greater good. It's about the fact that the new order of the day, per this regime, is that the people in this country are NOT a constituency to be served. They are subjects to be dominated. And anything that cuts against that ethos is to be met with incredible brutality and deadly force.

It's Cartman's "RESPECT MY AUTHORITAH!" as a national policy, and it's not fucking funny at all.

And 45% of America, including numerous people on this board, can't lick those boots hard enough.

Linking to some account called Bluesky Libs is all we need to know about you and how your Twitter feed looks like. You're telling on yourself man, I beg you to stop and try to use some critical thinking skills. Good's murder didn't happen in a vacuum, at the minimum you HAVE to see the year long process of ICE and CBP getting more brazen with violating the law. I'm nowhere near the smartest person here, I only have an affiliation to UT by going to three semesters of grad school and dropping out. But, even in my undergraduate education at a so called directional school, I learned that unrest and violence doesn't come out of thin air unless maybe unless you're a complete sociopath. To reiterate, this murder yesterday did not happen in a vacuum.

Good was murdered because CBP is staffed by incels that have been explicitly given verbal permission to use less discretion for use of force, this is why she was murdered. Every single action she took does not show she was trying to run over anyone. Quit trying to apply some weak-minded one dimensional analysis on how blame lies either toward CBP or to Good.
