Please please please let it come out that he's a pederast.  I don't think even the Rs could get around that one.

There have been criminal complaints but they’ve all been suppressed/bought or scared off.

The same reason liberals should watch Fox and read WSJ editorial page and NRO. The same reason Americans should listen to BBC and the Economist. The same reason citizens in open societies should avail themselves of primary sources to supplement journalism. Perspective is a shield that protects us from being blinded and gulled.

You have to pay taxes and die, but you don't have to be a sucker.

If their was a news station out there that had more centrist Democrats and Republicans that I could hear both their points of views and arguments, and they werent censored by the people they work for, that would be right up my alley....I just don't see the point of watching say CNN as a Republican when all it does is make my blood boil...I mean they have an agenda to target a specific group of people and their entire slant is for that group, and I am not in that group of people they are targetting....

Oh the irony of that last sentence coming from a Fox News watcher.

The news isn’t about your opinions and making you feel good about them.

If the truth about Donald Trump makes your blood boil then you should be angry at Trump not the organization reporting the truth.

You have been conditioned by the information you consume.

It's not a bad take, but I think the answer is just don't watch any news, imo.  Read more.  It sounds like literary snob stuff, but TV news is designed to move too fast for you to think.  It's entertainment.  If you read an article, you can digest it, consider something else and search for it, confirm what you are hearing one place or the other, have your BS meter raised if some contrary facts are easily found elsewhere.  None of that is possible on any modern TV news.

Why would a conservative Republican watch any other news, honest question?  About 80% of the newscasters are liberals on other stations.  Make the media less biased and Republicans would watch other programs...I dont need to turn on CNN and hear a bunch of shit about how bad Republicans are.  I dont live my life how they generalize all Republicans live their lives so to me it is just a bunch of BS..

This -- this is EXACTLY how the Fox News crowd justifies relentlessly feeding their confirmation bias.  "My only other option is to listen to a bunch of libtards on CNN/MSNBC, so really, it's THEIR fault that I can only tune in to Fox."

They utterly ignore this:

Second-Edition-News-Chart.V2.jpg

Follow Reuters.  Read the Economist.  Seriously, if you do just those two things, you will (1) be very well-informed, (2) will avoid significant bias, and (3) you'll see these relatively unbiased and objective sources offer SIGNIFICANTLY different reporting than Fox News.....which should tell you something.

If you want the truth, there are NUMEROUS outlets that you should look to -- not only are Fox and CNN NOT your only two choices, they are two BAD choices.  Saying "I have to watch Fox because CNN sucks" is a false dichotomy.  Tune them both out.  Read the Economist.  Everyone, including you, will be better for it.

But they won't.  Because -- not exactly a secret here -- they have ZERO interest in learning anything, or hearing the truth.  The reason -- the ONLY reason -- they consume any "news" is in order to feed what they WANT to hear.

You prove my point.  Im supposed to believe what they are reporting when I know, you know, everbody knows they have an agenda?  That agenda is to make Republicans and their points of view  look bad...I'm a Republican.  If you believe everything they say is true and it doesn't bother you, then great, you've found a home to get your news from...Im not saying Fox doesnt have their agenda as well...I'm saying their arent many sources of news out their that aren't censored or targetted in some way.  If I'm not in the target group for a certain news outlet with a hardcore agenda, why would I want to watch it?

You give too much credit to news agencies.  When it comes to making Republicans and their points of view look bad, no one does that better than Republicans themselves.

So why not follow an objective source?  The answer to "not CNN" is not "therefore, Fox News."  Not if our goal is fact-based objective reporting.

You’ve been brainwashed.

You sound like my dad and every scared old white man I know.

I NEVER MENTIONED ANOTHER NEWS SOURCE.

You jumped to your conclusion and shut yourself down to any argument.

I could post hundreds of true factual new stories from multiple outlets that “make Republicans look bad” and you’d shout them down regardless of the facts because as you’ve stated repeatedly your only concern is how they “make republicans look” and how that makes you feel.

You aren’t concerned about facts.

You don’t want anything to permeate your bubble and make you question your truth.

You need deprogramming.

If anyone in this day and age still has a desire to watch the news as a means of staying informed of what's happening in the world, then turn on PBS NewsHour every night. Not sure why you'd watch any of the other "news" shows which are solely editorials.

There are no other TV SOURCES BESIDES FOX NEWS and I'm SURE AS SHIT NOT gonna READ!!!!

The Economist has been critical of the dotard. Ergo, fake news. Anything short of glowing worship of the cheeto god is fake news to the maga crowd.

And really, that is their single test: has it ever been critical of Trump, even once?  FAKE NEWS.  Thus, my point - they only look for things that feed their confirmation bias.

Shit, I disagree with many of the takes the Economist has (not a huge number, but many of them).  AND, it's plenty critical of "both sides."  Hell, see the current cover, touting their critical analysis of millenials and their socialist bent:

But, because it doesn't offer competing editorials of "how awesome is Trump?  TOTALLY awesome!" versus "how awesome is TRUMP?  He's not totally awesome -- he's BREATHTAKINGLY awesome!", it's FAKE NEWS.

If you’re watching 24 hour news networks, you are seeking out validation of your own interpretation. 30 minutes-1 hour of local news will give you what you need to know. Nightly business report or PBS news hour will give you high level info with maybe 10 minutes of “pundit” talk

Most people watching 24 hour cable news aren't watching the news segments. They watch the opinion segments which the channels themselves are quick to tell you aren't news or fact.

When Sheppard Smith is on FOX I believe what I see and hear. Mostly same with Chris Wallace. But when anyone else is on it's complete horseshit propaganda. I find it strange that the one network that claims to be the most American is foreign owned.

Most consistently good magazine for the 41 years that I have been a reader.

The Economists "endorsement" of Hillary Clinton over Trump in 2016 is a pretty good example of its even handedness. It literally trashes Hilary from start to finish, but they rightly point out that Trump was not only bad but dangerous, which of course is objectively true to everyone except the trumpkins. They trashed him too, so "fake news!"

While lulzworthy, I'm aiming for Stephen Miller.  Trump himself would call it fake news, and his 30% would praise him.  But Stephen Miller doesn't have that kind of stroke, so he would get tossed aside.

Now, Don Jr or Eric would be fabulous as well.

Well some of these news outlets don't  have the best track record as of late....I don't really want to fill my head with a bunch of crap that gets proven wrong over and over...If I want other news, I usually read NPR....

Don't lie, you can't read.

What I'm also loving is the dead-solid perfect matchup of "every accusation is a confession."

Gonna drain the swamp and end corruption!  (whoops, appoints and hires several openly crooked cabinet members and other officials, and diverts public dollars to his own businesses).

Illegal immigrants are a scourge! (whoops, Trump has repeatedly hired them to work at his properties)

Human trafficking is a grave danger, we have to do something! (whoops, Trump's buttbuddies happily engage in taking advantage of victims of human trafficking)

And we could go on, and on, and on.  It's fucking lauaghable.  If you stand by Trump for any of his supposed "principles," you are a fucking moron.

I feel your pain my man, so I listen to talk radio for most of the top stories. I tried tuning into the local news for a couple of weeks, but I live near Houston and it’s all robberies and murders. Although, sometimes they’ll throw in a story about a kid with no legs playing basketball, just to cleanse the palate.
