Just heard Mike Johnson's attempt to explain what he meant by "Trump was an FBI informant". I'm paraphrasing, "Oh, did I use the wrong word? This isn't my lane. I don't know what these words mean. I was just saying what everyone knows already."

Well, well, well.  Turns out every day IS a wonderful secret.  Trump lied about not sending the drawing to his buddy and then sued WSJ for 10 Billion dollars for publishing the truth.

This is the guy that we ended democracy for. Congrats to all involved

Spoiler
Lawyers for Jeffrey Epstein’s estate have given Congress a copy of the birthday book put together for the financier’s 50th birthday, which includes a letter with President Trump’s signature that he has said doesn’t exist.
On Monday, House Oversight Committee members confirmed that they received a copy of the birthday book including the letter bearing Trump’s signature and a letter that references Trump with a crude joke about a woman from another Epstein associate.
“President Trump called the Epstein investigation a hoax and claimed that his birthday note didn’t exist. Now we know that Donald Trump was lying and is doing everything he can to cover up the truth,” said Rep. Robert Garcia (D., Calif.), who is the committee’s Democratic ranking member. “Enough of the games and lies, release the full files now.”
The Wall Street Journal in July reported on the book and the letter bearing Trump’s name, which contained typewritten text framed by the outline of a naked woman. The letter concluded: “Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.” The signature was a squiggly “Donald” below the waist, mimicking pubic hair.

Trump has denied writing the letter or drawing the picture, calling it “a fake thing.” He also filed a lawsuit against the Journal’s reporters, Journal publisher Dow Jones, parent company News Corp and executives, alleging defamation and saying the letter was “nonexistent.” A Dow Jones spokeswoman said, “We have full confidence in the rigor and accuracy of our reporting.”
Karoline Leavitt, White House press secretary, said in a social media post that Trump’s legal team will continue to pursue its defamation case against the Journal. “As I have said all along, it’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it,” Leavitt said in a post on X.
The Trump administration’s shifting statements about whether it would release the files it has on Epstein has hung over the White House for months. On Sept. 3, Trump called efforts to make public more details about Epstein a politically driven hoax, just as some of the convicted sex offender’s victims visited Capitol Hill to tell their stories of sexual abuse and implored the president and Congress to release further records.
Allies of Trump have long sought release of Epstein-related materials, but the Justice Department said in July that there isn’t a client list of people who participated in Epstein’s trafficking of young girls, and new files wouldn’t be released. That determination triggered an uproar among some of Trump’s prominent supporters and efforts in Congress to seek the records.

A VISUAL BREAKDOWN OF THE TRUMP BIRTHDAY LETTER TO EPSTEIN

Lawyers for the co-executors of Epstein’s estate turned over a copy of the birthday book on Monday in response to a subpoena from Rep. James Comer (R., Ky.), the chair of the House Oversight Committee. In a July 25 letter to the Epstein estate’s lawyers, Rep. Garcia and Rep. Ro Khanna (D., Calif.) had pressed the estate to release the book “to assist in bringing transparency and accountability.”
The birthday book given to Epstein in 2003—before his first arrest in 2006—was professionally bound and contained letters from dozens of Epstein’s then associates, including Trump, former President Bill Clinton and billionaire Leon Black, the Journal has reported. Some of the messages were anodyne birthday wishes, but others contained sexual references and suggestive drawings or photos.
The Epstein estate also turned over another letter from the book that references Trump. It came from businessman and longtime Mar-a-Lago member Joel Pashcow, who made a crude joke about a woman that Trump and Epstein socialized with in the 1990s, according to people familiar with the matter.
The Pashcow letter included a photo of a posterboard-sized check for $22,500, which had been mocked up to appear that it was sent from Trump to Epstein. Beneath it, a handwritten caption said: “Jeffrey showing early talents with money + women sells ‘fully depreciated’ [redacted] to Donald Trump for $22,500.” The woman’s name is redacted in the image.

Pashcow and his attorney didn’t respond to requests for comment. A lawyer for the woman said she doesn’t know Pashcow and has no knowledge of the letter naming her, which the lawyer called a “disgusting and deeply disturbing hoax.”
Trump was listed under the “Friends” section in the book’s table of contents, along with Clinton and about 20 other associates, the Journal reported. Trump and Epstein socialized in the 1990s in Palm Beach, Fla. Trump flew on Epstein’s private jet, flight logs show. Epstein was photographed multiple times at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
When Epstein was arrested a second time in 2019, Trump said he hadn’t talked to Epstein in about 15 years. This summer, he told reporters that he had a falling out with Epstein because his wealthy neighbor poached some employees from the Mar-a-Lago club.
Some of the people who assisted Epstein’s former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell on the birthday book project more than 20 years ago recalled seeing the Trump page among the documents they were compiling back then, the Journal reported.
Maxwell recently told Justice Department officials she assembled a book for Epstein’s 50th birthday but didn’t remember any names of people who made contributions to the album.
The Justice Department informed Trump in May that his name appeared several times in the government files related to Epstein, the Journal reported. Many other high-profile figures also were named, Trump was told. Being mentioned in the files isn’t an indication of wrongdoing. The White House called the story “fake news.”

On the other hand, I have the comedic maturity of an 11 year old, and "dude, he signed his name as pubes" makes me laugh.

I hate this country, I hate everyone in it, including myself, especially for laughing at that.  And still laughing at it.  Because signature = pubes = funny.

Why would the WSJ need to show that letter to Vance before publishing it? Outside of verifying authenticity, why should they be required to show it around to anyone in the Trump orbit?

Still blows my mind that the country and government are doing everything possible to protect a guy who raped kids. Despite everything else that’s gone on the last 8+ years with TFG this is truly a low that I didn’t think was possible for a developed country to reach.

We're less than two years away from all stories about the President from major outlets needing to be approved by the White House before printing. Tell me I'm wrong.

Yep.  I'm perfectly fine with digging more into Bill Clinton's relationship with Epstein and potential illegal behavior.  Everyone who touched this piece of shit is fair game.

But Clinton didn't take up some self-righteous stance on Epstein to drum up support from a MAGA/Q-Anon base, only to head fake years later when the heat turned up on him and claim it was all a hoax concocted by the opposing party and flat-out lying about very basic details revealed in the Epstein documents.  And Clinton is not currently our president.

So yeah, the overwhelming majority of the focus on the Epstein inquiry is and should be Donald fucking Trump.

Franken Trump Syndrome. It's binary thinking MAGA inadvertently illustrating that Democrats are significantly more likely to investigate and punish wrongdoing than their party that ran on Drain The Swamp, and specifically in this case, opening the Epstein files which they whiplashed a 180 on once they got into power without ever offering an explanation as to why.

This is what Clinton wrote. Not that it matters. If he had drawn a picture of a girl and talked about how fun it was to rape them I'd be disgusted and hope for the worst for him.

Jeffrey – Happy 50th – It’s sobering, isn’t it, to learn later to how, after all the years of learning and knowing, adventure and worry, it is best to have your childlike curiosity, the drive to make a difference, and the solace of friends. Bill Clinton

Then there are the various pictures of animal penises and and animals having sex, alongside remembrances from pals of the times they saw Epstein having sex, or participated in sex with Epstein and multiple girls.

These are not the descriptions of normal, well-adjusted 50-year-old man. They are the descriptions of a sociopath. A predator.

His friends—including Donald Trump—did not treat this fact as a foible. Neither did they attempt to gloss over it, as one might try to avoid an old chum’s uncomfortable or self-destructive habits.

Quote

No. It is clear from the entries in this book that Epstein’s friends knew he was a predator, saw his sociopathy as one of his two defining features, and celebrated it. At absolute best, they stood around this monster and cheered on his sociopathy. At worst? Well, we know that at least one of these people actively participated in his criminality.

At the end of the day, here is what the Epstein birthday book makes undeniable:

Everyone in Jeffrey Epstein’s circle knew. They knew that Epstein was a predator. They believed that his pathology defined him. And they joked about it, encouraged it, and egged him on.

Donald Trump knew all about Jeffrey Epstein. He was at least complicit in Epstein’s criminality. And eventually, we will know if he was more than complicit.

Everyone should be hammering Trump mercilessly about this. The additional context from the book should leave no possibility for him to shrug this off. I fear that a lot of people may end up dying as a result of the Trump administration's efforts to distract from this.

So the best case here is that Trump made a joke about purchasing a “fully depreciated” woman for $22,500. Is that correct?

And the worst case is that it wasn’t a joke, and that either a woman or an underaged girl was sold to Trump?

So the U.S. President either thinks of women as property or that it’s okay to joke about them being property.

And the same MAGA base that was so vocal about Sound of Freedom and sex trafficking is now silent because this is either fake news or just a joke between friends.

And women voted for this sack of shit. It still blows my mind.

I think you really have to break it down even further for Cleetus over there on Texags.  The joke is that Trump considered a girl "fully depreciated" - i.e., fully used up - at 22 years old.  Ya know - because Trump likes them "fresh" - i.e., more like 13 yo - likely because at that point that they don't know what a "rare specimen" his little micro-mushroom is.

Democrats elected Clinton to 2 consecutive terms and then finally 25 years later allowed him to be implicated in the Epstein stuff. Therefore they have to allow Trump to serve 2 consecutive terms and allow him 25 years of grace afterward. Otherwise they are treasonous hypocrites who should have their citizenship revoked and sent to a Salvadoran prison. - GQP

There's a Trump interview out there - I don't remember who it was with, maybe Stern? - from about 15 years ago, where he's asked "Is there such thing as 'too young' for you?" and he thinks for a second, before saying "Well I wouldn't have sex with a 12 year-old". I saw this for the first time probably a few weeks ago, after he had already been elected president twice. Someone post it if they know what I'm talking about.

I mean....that may be the least hideous part of that book.  The girls are like elementary school age in pic one, so 20 years later would make them 25 or better.  Those are actually women, well into legal age.  How refreshing!  I'd have expected the dates to be 183 to 1993, so he's getting some of those sweet 14-16 year olds.

And yeah, Jesus....every one of these people knew EXACTLY what Epstein was - a fucking predator - and they didn't shy away from it, they celebrated it.  Imagine if one of your friends was into fucking underage girls.  First...imagine that you remained friends with him after finding that out.  Then, imagine that you wrote him funny notes celebrating the fact.  WTF is wrong with these people?
