I disagree with not changing anybody's mind. I just asked two people who I know voted for Trump if it comes out that he used taxpayer dollars to pay for 1000 FBI agents to scour the files if that would be acceptable and BOTH of them said it would not.

It's quite easily understood that these are the actions of a guilty man.

Also, I think they are ready to jettison Trump and put Vance in. They realize that Vance has no baggage, would be more effective at carrying out their agenda, and would not have a giant layer of stank all over him that would weigh on the 2026 election.

Yeah, we need Trump to publicly fester.  Vance, lickspittle that he is, would probably be more effective at doing actual evil shit than Trump.

Not so fast my friend. With Watergate, for example, the coverup was 100x worse than the actual crime.

If Trump fucked underage girls with Jeff Epstein (or course he did), no coverup short of murder will be worse than the actual crime(s) in this instance.

Which is why I said that it's "often" worse than the actual crime.

The thing about this, though, is that it's easily provable. It's not he said/she said.  1000 FBI agents leave a paper trail.

I mean, if he had Epstein killed to cover this up, I still don't think that's as bad morally as the original crimes he would've been trying to cover up.

I think it's more valuable to us/damaging to Trump, to have this uncertainty and innuendo.

If the shit actually comes out, he'll just what about Clinton, Gates, etc. and it will all go away.

You do realize 46% of project 2025 has already been implemented, right?

They don’t need help “carrying out their agenda” because it’s already being done. Fat Boy isn’t doing that, the people who work for him are. Fat Boy just wants the camera time and praise.

Yes, some crazies will remain loyal but I don’t believe for a minute that JD Vance can step in and have Congress and SCOTUS say “ok sure- any Hitler will do”

If the public comes to view Trump's involvement with Epstein's pedophilia affairs as much of a given as say OJ murdering his wife, I am 100% certain congress/SCOTUS will say, "ok sure - any non-pedophile Hitler will do."  They will support further moves toward autocracy/fascism/demagoguery to escape their own culpability in the whole affair.  The coverup at that point will be for everyone who turned blind eye to what they put into and kept in power.

We're still a long way from the public viewing this as much of a given as OJ murdering his wife, though.

Imagine the worst thing on earth that Trump could do.  Double it.  Add 1,000 dead babies killed by him personally to the mix.  And then realize that it won't fucking matter, he won't lose a single vote.

Just one story, but I played golf with my Trumper and Trump apologist friends yesterday for the first time in a few weeks. I brought up the Epstein stuff to feel them out. The Trumper is concerned about it and acknowledged DJT is part of the swamp as it pertains to Epstein, the Trump apologist who loves to engage in conspiratorial stuff fully believes Trump is guilty and trying to hide everything.

This is literally the only instance of all 3 of us being on the same page with a "political" issue.

The Trumper would probably still vote for Trump again, I agree.

The Trump apologist is most likely done with him. The cat is out of the bag and no explanation from the DOJ to exonerate Trump will work on him.

Yep.  We're approaching a 100% chance they just pay him off and end the show in the coming days/weeks.  He won't make it another 30 days.  Cancelled, with no other repercussions?  He's too dangerous to the regime, meaning he's too dangerous to those paying fealty to the regime (CBS/Paramount).  This isn't complicated, it's ancient.

After:

The FBI wasn’t protecting children.
The DOJ wasn’t protecting privacy.
They were protecting Trump.

And they used the full weight of the federal government to do it.

If you ever wondered what a major cover-up looks like, this is it.

So now they keep screaming about Obama.
About Russia. About anything but Epstein.

It’s not just misdirection—it’s desperation.
Because the truth is incriminating.
And they’re doing everything they can to keep it buried.

This isn’t a conspiracy theory. It’s a cover-up.
And it implicates the president, the DOJ, and the FBI.

A massive effort to protect a global child trafficking network—and the powerful men entangled in it, including Trump.

Yep. The shift is pretty got damned distinct.

In case anyone needs a refresher, here's a pretty decent timeline of Trump & Epstein's relationship. Trump hung with Epstein from at least 1985 to at least 2004 and flew in his plane at least 7 times.

Here’s Every Known Link Between Trump And Epstein: ‘Little Black Book’, Plane Rides And Trump’s 1993 Wedding  https://www.forbes.com/sites/saradorn/2025/07/23/heres-every-known-link-between-trump-and-epstein-little-black-book-plane-rides-and-trumps-1993-wedding/

Timeline
1980sTrump and Epstein met around the time Trump bought Mar-a-Lago in 1985, when Epstein was also living in Palm Beach, according to Trump, who told New York magazine in 2002 he had known Epstein for “15 years,” calling him a “terrific guy,” and adding “it is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”

1992Trump and Epstein were spotted laughing together at a party Trump threw at Mar-a-Lago, according to NBC footage of the event unearthed in 2019.

1992At a “calendar girl” party at Mar-a-Lago where Trump invited just two other guests, Florida businessman George Houraney and Epstein, Houraney’s girlfriend at the time, Jill Harth, said Trump forcibly kissed and fondled her, restrained her from leaving a bedroom and alleged Trump crawled into bed with another 22-year-old woman at the party in a 1997 lawsuit Trump settled the lawsuit with Harth (he has denied her allegations), The New York Times reported.

1993Trump flew on Epstein’s private jets four times in 1993, according to flight logs made public during Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial, The New York Times reported.

1993Photos released by CNN showed Epstein attended Trump’s 1993 wedding to Marla Maples—his second wife—at the Plaza Hotel in New York. A few months before the wedding, another photo published by CNN showed Epstein and Trump together at the opening of the Harley Davidson Cafe in New York.

1994 Trump flew on one of Epstein’s private jets, according to the flight logs.

1995 Epstein reportedly called Maria Farmer—who has accused Epstein and Maxwell of sexual assault—to his New York office late at night, where Trump then arrived and “started to hover over” Farmer, who was in her mid-20s at the time, and “stared at her bare legs” before Epstein said, “No, no. She’s not here for you,” Farmer reportedly told the FBI, according to The New York Times.

1995 Trump took another flight on an Epstein jet, the flight logs say.

1997 Trump took a seventh flight on one of Epstein’s jets.

1997 Trump and Epstein were photographed standing near each other at a Victoria’s Secret “Angels” party, according to a Getty image of Trump posing with model Ingrid Seynhaeve that shows Epstein in the background.

1999 A video released by CNN showed Trump and Epstein laughing and chatting with each other at another Victoria’s Secret event.

2000 Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre was working at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort when she was recruited by Maxwell to work as Epstein’s personal masseuse and was groomed by the two to provide sexual services for Epstein and his wealthy circle, according to a deposition Giuffre gave that was made public in 2019.

2003 Trump allegedly gave Epstein the birthday card that said “may every day be another wonderful secret,” according to the Thursday report in the Wall Street Journal, which the president denies.

2004 Trump and Epstein had a falling out when Trump outbid him for a Palm Beach mansion, according to a Washington Post report.

2015 Trump’s name appeared circled in Epstein’s “little black book” of 1,571 personal contacts, which spanned 97 pages of names, numbers and addresses of Epstein’s associates, including high-powered figures such as Prince Andrew and Ehud Barak, whose names were among about 38 also circled, according to a copy of the document published by Gawker in 2015.

... and Trump didn't kick Epstein out of his club until 2007, so that adds more fuzziness about whether they actually stopped associating in 2004.

Wild prediction (that I'm sure is not bod in any way for this board):

Trump makes a deal with Maxwell either giving her full immunity or a ridiculously low sentence (like time served) in exchange for her giving a sworn deposition in which she says that Trump was never a client of Epstein's and was at most a social acquaintance, and in any event is definitely, positively, without a doubt, not a pedophile.  Most people with half a brain will see through this charade, some chunk of MAGA nation will believe full-heartedly that their savior is a pedophile, the Republicans in power will pronounce our nation's long nightmare over, and everything will be exactly like it is now.

If I’m Maxwell, there’s no way I agree to do anything for him in exchange for a future pardon or commutation. First, you can’t trust him to keep to any deal he makes and second, he’s fucking desperate.

She should demand an immediate pardon in exchange for lying for him, leave the country when she’s released, then tell the world Trump was totally involved with Epstein and she personally saw him rape children. That would be the funniest possible outcome.

No, she needs to take the pardon deal.  But she ALSO needs to tell Trump that she has 10 copies of the exact same detailed story of what REALLY happened (with videos), that she told a lie in exchange for the pardon, and if she's dead, it's because he had her killed.  Those packages are in the hands of multiple attorneys who I've paid, and who have a standing order to mail them to every media outlet if I die.  When negotiating with a mobster, do mob shit.

I think some of you continue to misread what is going on.

Trump's friendship with Epstein isn't an issue IMHO - that was known and Trump being in the files isn't that big of a deal.

Lots of peoples' names are in there because of Epstein's connections with the social circles for so long. I don't think MAGA cares whether or not he's in the files as that's not evidence of wrongdoing by itself.

The PROBLEM was that the GQP crazies latched on to this conspiracy theory that Trump was supposed to expose this massive pedophilia ring of powerful people and the "Epstein files" are part of that.

Trump then stupidly promised that he would release these files and expose all of these bad people - delivering the proof the crazies sought so this massive cabal of evildoers can be brought to justice.

He's not only not delivering on that promise, but acting like he has something to hide (or that he's covering for the people who will be exposed.)

MAGA wants the justice that Trump promised them, and he's not delivering.

The story of him being in the files is an inconvenience that he's handling very poorly, and now the story has gotten away from him and snowballed into a life of it's own. Mike Johnson's decision to recess early guarantees that not only will the story not die, but now his membership is going home to furious constituents:

image.thumb.png.c28f294e565b74eb31c9b384f6fc8cd9.png

So this likely isn't going away any time soon, and he can't appease the rank and file MAGA because he cannot deliver what he promised.

I've said before this won't "bring down" Trump, but it's a massive friendly fire broadside to the USS MAGA and they are struggling to plug the hole.

Goddam, conservatives just have the worst media literacy

I loved it when I was a teenage nihilist, but grew up and realized that it's actually cool to care about things a lot, not even just a little. I've read in a few places that the last couple of seasons have improved a lot and that Matt/Trey realized that their stupid "both sides"  and "I hate conservatives but I really fucking hate liberals" philosophies maybe weren't actually all that great. Haven't cared enough to see for myself, but after that episode I may check out at least one or two

I was not a huge SP fan, loved the movie but never really watched the show regularly. I'm sure it was the incessant reruns on CC that brought me back to it and I've probably seen just about all of them now. The "Gigantic Douche vs Turd Sandwich" run during the Trump/Hillary race was absolutely perfect. Then Garrison transforming into "Dotard" provided a great storyline. Randy opening Tegridy Farms has been hysterical too.

Trump said he'd release the Epstein files during the campaign. I keep going back to the interview he did with Fox & Friends in the summer of 2024 where the female interviewer rattled off "conspiracy" files and if he'd declassify them. JFK, 9/11 and Epstein. Very quick "yes" to the first two and a tepid "yes, but" to Epstein said it all. He was in them and he knew it. The confusing part is why he allowed Bondi to push forward with the whole spectacle of the binders and having the files on her desk for review. Why do that? Just don't ever act on the Epstein stuff again. Just don't bring it up and his stupid base will move on. Instead, he shined a light on it and has full-blown self-created catastrophe on his hands. I mean, I'm here for it but this is completely self-inflicted.
