How Fox News works

retread

I don't know what Murdoch and Barr discussed during their meeting this week, but if Fox believes taking this angle is a good idea, then they are mistaken. History should never be kind to those who provide the matches or fan the flames. With eleven months remaining, more rallies planned, and restless unhappy people looking for someone to blame, I wouldn't put it past this Administration, its spineless gutless culpable GOP representatives, and Fox News to incite an incident that pushes the regime to the front.

They don't give a rat's ass about history.  They want to stay in power.

Jason Chaffetz called the scene “riotous” and complained that protestors outside were “burning MAGA hats.”  While making those claims, FOX showed disturbing video of protestors just kind of hanging around holding signs.  It was some real bullshit.

This week, Fox News has run polls showing Trump can’t beat the Dem. candidates, and that a majority favor impeachment.  That was done with Murdoch’s approval.  And Fox News has recently broken some exclusive stories that were not favorable to Trump.

Would be interesting to be a fly in the wall.

Well, of course they do. But over time and not all that long of a period, things get distorted and used for propaganda. No one should ever make martyrs of the GOP.

@atomheartbevo wasn't the timing of the poll prior to their meeting? I'd like to know what their game is (beyond $$) and yes, wish I could have listened to that convo.

Back in the day before everyone on TV news lost their minds, back before Trump dominated everything, there were few things more entertaining than Shepard Smith broadcasting a live car chase.

I guess he got tired of broadcasting a live car crash.

Can we all stop with the Fox is going to turn on Trumpism bit now? Rupert, Lachlan, and James Murdoch are no better than Roger Ailes. They are actually worse. Ailes was a whore working for money. The Murdoch's have more money than all of us will spend in our entire lifetimes combined, yet choose to fuck us all over to get even more.

I wish there was a Hell for pieces of shit like them, but Hell is empty and all the devils are here.

Interesting.  Wonder if Shep is about to go even more unfiltered.  I’m sure he knows a thing or two.

During Shep’s recent spat with Tucker, somebody said on twitter that Shep told his bosses to fuck off and that he was done. They claimed he was gone as soon he negotiated an exit package and/or had a landing pad.  Granted, it’s twitter, but they seemed very certain, and then this popped out today.

Jokes about Barr ordering Murdoch to fire him aside, I think if Trump wanted him gone, he tells Hannity over the phone.

The Barr stuff feels more like Giuliani-related.

Wait they let him do the entire show but then felt the need to escort him out with security?

Wouldn't it be more likely he says something on air?

Feels like a "you can't fire me, I quit!" kindof situation. It's funny that a network that claims everyone else is a snowflake can't handle someone disagreeing with them.

Under his agreement with Fox, "I won't be able to report elsewhere at least in the near future," he said.

Shepard Smith, Neil Cavuto and Chris Wallace are the only Fox News people not completely in the tank for Trump.  Fox may have decided that Trump pimping OANN was a bigger threat than I would have thought.

Can old people even learn what cable package they have to buy to get OANN and memorize the channel number before they die?  I can’t think of a more captive audience than Fox News viewers.

My wife's grandparents sit at home all day with 2 TVs tuned to Fox News.

Imagine growing up without electricity in the rice fields of South Central Louisiana, fighting the Germans in WW2, working your ass off for 60 years growing rice and crawfish and finally retiring with your wife of 70 only to sit in a house with 2 TVs tuned to the "news".

That's depressing.

Ignorance is bliss.  I mean that in a good way for your grandparents.

If Fox was worried about Trump, they wouldn’t have run the polls this week showing a majority favored impeachment and Donnie losing badly next year.

Regicide, coup, treason.  These words used by the President and the conservative machine — if they accurately described the situation — would justify any totalitarian reaction by the President.  Whether the goal or not, the conservative base is being conditioned to accept them.  Political purges, foreign interference, rigged or suspended elections, etc...  It would all be justified as the Democrats had “attempted to overthrow” Trump’s government.
It would not at all surprise me to see some Fox-fed nut job take a shot at Schiff, Pelosi or Biden.

I am fine with the death penalty for this administration via mortar fire or bone saws.
