  1. Bingo. I said for years that no one should've hated Trump more than a true conservative, because you had all the reasons to hate him that the rest of us did, plus he hijacked your party and turned it into something else. What happened to the party of family values, small federal government, and responsible government spending? Sure, you only paid lip service to those things before, but at least you tried. Then Trump came along and made complete hypocrites of all of you. Y'all accused Obama of wanting to be king with his executive orders then said nothing when Trump used exectutive orders even more frequently. You bashed Obama for playing golf then said nothing when Trump played exponentially more golf. Obama's wife was a whore for showing her shoulders that one time, but you don't care that I've seen Melania's naked fake tits on the internet and Donald fucked literal whores behind his pregnant wife's back. You bashed Obama's spending then said nothing when Trump started a trade war with China and sank our soybean industry then gave the soybean farmers silos full of tax dollars to make it up to them, not to mention the exploding annual deficit even before Covid hit. To be fair, I understand that most of you get your "news" from Fox, so you're not even aware of how hypocritical you're being because you missed most of the above. But god damn, get a hold of yourselves. Surely some of you understand that this OAN/MAGA/QAnon shit is going to splinter your party and make you irrelevant for literally decades. And as much as you deserve that, we're better off with two strong parties to counter-balance each other. So grow a pair and take your party back from the wingnuts.

  4. The bitching about CDC by some of you guys is ridiculous. The contract extension happened after the 2019 Sugar Bowl win over Georgia, and a Top 3 recruiting ranking. It was certainly justified at the time. What the fuck else is CDC supposed to do with Herman, other than give him a bullshit vote of confidence and tell everybody Texas is committed to him? Did you seriously want to fire him in the middle of the season during a pandemic season with interrupted practices and games? That's an even bigger disaster. No assistant is going to keep recruiting when they know they are getting axed at the end of the year. Let them try to work their asses off to save their jobs and recruit like motherfuckers. Otherwise, you have a dead-man-walking staff and you just have to hope recruits will stay on board through NSD1 with nobody recruiting them and no idea who the next coach is gonna be. Brilliant. Or I guess you could try poaching a new coaching staff in October? Good luck with that. I'm sure Urban Meyer was just itching to come out of retirement to work somewhere that fires coaches in the middle of the season. If you want to bitch about CDC for not firing Herman after the 2019-2020 season, then whatever. The 2020 class was top 10 (mainly cause we only took 20), and a top 5 recruiting class was still a possibility for 2021, even if the on-field results didn't live up to expectations for 2019-2020. There was at least a reasonable chance that with a senior QB and a new coaching staff, the team could win the Big XII in 2020. CDC let Herman try, he sucked a giant dick, and got fired. What a fucking dumb fucking take.

  8. This is funny. But also an indictment of Herman. We've got an alumni trainer who was clearly pushing this kid to go to Texas because he finally felt engaged, and a part of the program. Herman's arrogant ass never bothered to form a relationship with a guy that could push kids to Texas, which he was clearly doing with Uke. While it didn't work out this time, it's good to know that Donald Hawkins is an ally and an advocate for the program. Jesus. Fuck Tom Herman. Dumbass.

  9. If these settle -- and they WILL settle -- an element of the settlement needs to be 1) a public, on the air statement by each of the psychopaths that contains the words "I lied about the election and Dominion/Smartec, repeatedly and without shame. I traffic in lies, and I admit that I am a habitual liar," and 2) a chyron on screen, for the entire broadcast by each such personality for so long as they are allowed to continue to broadcast on Fox that says clearly and plainly "Tucker Carlson [or whoever]: Admitted Serial Liar." Otherwise, take this motherfucker to trial, get the evidence of their lying into the public record, and take them for a billion plus.

  11. Every time Republicans blow up the economy and create enormous deflationary pressure, they immediately start fearmongering about the runaway inflation that is sure to result from any attempt to counter the economic ruin they've created. The fact that all of the evidence runs contrary to their theory never seems to cause them to reconsider, though. It's the weirdest thing.

  12. This. Some of you fucking idiots are either biased by shitty economic grasps that can’t handle basic tenets of capitalism or too stupid to have opinions on shit like this. Nothing happens successfully at a program of this size without big money donors. Nothing. The org is paralyzed without the donor support and would have to cut all the way through muscle and into bone in order to find a way to manage without it. People receiving pay cuts or winding up as fat being trimmed from the org shouldn’t have probably been around that fat bloated org in the first place. Sometimes, organizations creep into leviathan status and need to be shocked back into health. The UT AD from Dodds up to the CDC era epitomized bureaucratic creep. As much as I think CDC has been a buffoon with the football program, cleaning out the fat and trash in the org has been necessary. Every other fucking school would kill for the depth and breadth of the UT donor base. They’re not the fucking problem. The premise of them meddling in all things sports is a tired trope with no basis in fact these days. They’re there when they’re needed, and they do what is asked. They’re fucking loyal and smart. I’d rather have them than the Catholic church breathing down the AD’s neck or one major donor calling all of the shots or a conference commissioner determining our outcomes or ESPN telling us what we will and will not do. Give me our BMD problems compared to any of that shit. “Oh noes, big bloated org cut some head count and still pays market for talent and is developing an ‘up or out’ mentality based on performance for its staff, whatever will we do about these meanies!” Get the fuck out of here with that dickless handwringing.

  13. This thread is going to be lit! No that hand signal doesn’t necessarily make you sympathetic to white supremacists, when I was diving I used it all the time in and out of the water, as thumbs up means something entirely different from the ok sign...it’s a safety thing ingrained in you that ‘I’m fine’ or ‘are you fine’ has different connotation from ‘I need to go up’ or ‘let’s go up’. But i guess it got co-opted by idiots because it also sorta semi resembles a w and p. And if all the Proud Boys in the room, who are you serenading you with the song of their people, are doing it all at the same time...then yes in that context it’s a racist expression. It can mean multiple things, so let’s curb the victim crap of ‘I use it frequently I must be racist’. It’s a cheap thing to fixate on, then again I’m not surprised there was a pic of PressSec ready to roll as I’m sure it’s being passed around as a defensive and redirection whatabout...which means this thread will go nowhere constructive...so carry on I guess.

  19. Yall need to watch Sark's coaching clinic video. Sark appears to make QBing in his system very easy. Strict progression of reads. Read 1 is open, throw it there, no matter what. Read 1 is covered, read 2 is open, throw it there. Just need a dude who is accurate. Much of what we saw from Bama's offense is what Sark has been running for years including at Atlanta. It's all on tape for DCs to game plan against. Yet he still drug his nuts all over everyone's face this year. Getting Ewers would be great but QB is the last position I'm worried about with Sark. If Ewer joins, great. If not, fuck him.

  20. "Boy, did you see what he did with the Women's Basketball hire? How about Mike White? Edrick Floreal has been a real gamechanger, hasn't he? Gee wiz. I mean, say what you will about the tenets of non-revenue sports, but at least they're in an upward trajectory. I'll focus on his handling of the football program later, but that's just me." It's quite bizarre to witness so many people showing up on the boards to defend ... the fucking athletic director. He's a gladhanding money man. He tried to push James Franklin and Sonny Dykes as options. He allowed the hire of Mike Stoops. And yes, that's what happened. He's cockblocking people who know the bagdropping game because someone in compliance is a worrier. But yeah, rally to his position and defend him. Me? I'd rather have whoever is in the AD role at Texas waking up daily with their hair on fire that the public wants them gone and they've got to produce that day, all the fuck over again.

  24. Respectfully, this reads as a defense mechanism for being a Republican. Denial of what has happened to the GOP over the years is must making the QAnon section of the party stronger. Sounds like you are what an "average Republican" used to be. The party has gone off the rails and we need people like you to be more critical of it.

  25. Thanks Reagan, I've been on that site but hadn't seen that write-up. Btw, seconded on the desire for this model in a .375 H&H. You shoulda seen the collection of original Holland & Holland rifles Herb, his brother, and dad had. If you look on the right hand side of their living room you'll see some large wooden cabinets. Inside those doors were probably over a dozen authentic H&H's of all calibers, including a .465 that I recall being able to put my index finger down the barrel. They offered to let me shoot it on kind of a dare. Almost like taking the 72 oz steak challenge at The Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo. 2nd pic is same room - just another set of some of the badassery that they had collected.
