  1. This is not directed at you, but I don’t get the general hate / shit talking about Money. Former QB who has shown athletic ability and understanding of the game. Everything I’ve read and seen tells me he’s reliable, runs decent routes and has good hands. Even has a little wiggle after the catch. If the guy can fly under the radar, catch a few passes to keep drives alive and help move the chains, what’s not to like? He fills a needed role. Whatever. To each his own I suppose. I know I’ll be cheering him on when he’s making plays this season.

  6. Yep. They're way lower than the general population, and lead to way lower transmission, hospitalization, and death rates. The vaccine doesn't prevent the virus from getting into your body. It gives your immune system the tools to fight it when it does, and hopefully allows your body to squash it before you're able to give it to others. But, I'm sure they covered that when you were pre-law or pre-med, or whatever.

  9. Perhaps some good news concerning Delta. https://www.yahoo.com/news/fully-vaccinated-people-catch-covid-093720969.html Summary, Dutch study (small and prelim) finds that those who catch Delta and are vaccinated are less contagious. That while they may have the same amount of virus particles in their nose and throat, those particles appear to be less infectious. Futher, those that are vaccinated that catch Delta appear to get rid of the virus faster than unvaccinated people who cost a less infectious strain (like the OG COVID or Alpha). Basically, in summary, all the idiots who are anti-vaxx need to get vaccinated or be banned from normal human life for the foreseeable future. Fuck them. They are prolonging this pandemic.

  14. Not to derail thread here, but relevant with regard to the state of Texas porking Nebraska at every opportunity, the states LLWS representative from Abilene just eliminated Nebraska from the LLWS. 10 run ruled their ass in the 5th. Suck it corn.

  16. They know it because ebil libs are getting vaccinated which makes it de facto work of the devil. I believe they mainly avoid vaccines because of politcal viewpoint even though they state it as a religious one. They're real god has become the Hate Engine which defines them by what they are not: ebil libs hellbent on destroying this country, throwing God out of schools, and including your nigras in the democracy. You will be challenged if you state it as a political stand, but you are untouchable if you site the Will of God. It makes people fly planes into buildings to kill a few thousand or refuse vaccination to kill hundreds of thousands. Both are suicide missions in the name of gawd. Blind faith applied to political reasoning is another poison for our republic. If there are gods, I sometimes like to suggest that the divine order of the universe is founded on irony and self-fulfilling prophecy. These self-identified Christians won't act to protect the people around them; they and the people around them may become seriously ill and even die as a result. How does that work out for you on Judgement Day? I.W.

  18. Given the fact Covid policies directly affect our team this season means they are not mutually exclusive. It’s completely on-topic to discuss the teams vaccination rate whether you like it or not.

  19. Emergency powers are usually meant to make a situation better not to prolong it and make it worse. Greg Abbott is using emergency powers to increased his re-election chances while killing lots of Texans unnecessarily. It's safe to say he's a huge fucking piece of shit.

  22. Man, the media is so left-wing biased, they've been giving Biden a pass for Afghanistan, calling him a great, decisive lead.... Oh wait, no, they've been beating him over the head with sensationalist reporting, screaming about all the Americans he is leaving behind to die and parroting GOP talking points about abandoning Afghanistan/forever war. And now suddenly realizing they were wrong in their reporting - 70k evacuations in 10 days with no dead American citizens.

  25. Anyone who says NPR News is left leaning is an absolute, certifiable, Grade A fucking moron. Anyone who has ever heard them interview a Republican, report on Republicans, or entertain Republican talking points knows they are painfully neutral and very much go out of the way to be neutral. They may matter of factly state, for example, that there is no documented evidence for voter fraud when doing a segment on elections bills, but that’s not liberal editorializing - it’s simply a fact. That’s pretty much exclusively what they deal in. That Republicans try to cast them as liberal propaganda is incredibly damning in that it’s a blatant attempt to construct an alternative fact reality. It appears to have worked on our friend here. Yes, many of the human interest segments/shows aired on various local public radio stations across the country skew towards crunchy granola shit because that’s the audience. But NPR news is not a left leaning organization and it’s absolutely fucking laughable to assert that their news coverage has an editorial slant.

  31. Finally after many months of work including flying out to persuade... my parents (late 70's) finally got their first vaccine dose today. Can't tell you how relieved I am that they've started the process finally. By all accounts well educated, smart people, just didn't want to get it for various reasons. I was finally able to push them over the hump this weekend. They said they were getting closer to getting it but my talk gave them enough to take immediate action. Their indecision was in large part to my mom's adverse reaction to many, many medicines, combined with relatively good health - my dad's never taken/needed an antibiotic in his life, and their hope that it would "blow over". I finally said, based on what's going on in schools and the fact that the rest of the world is way behind as well, that it is no longer a matter of "if" but a matter of "when" they where getting the vaccine. Also added the true fact that I was personally starting to lose sleep and was physically taking a toll worrying about them not being vaccinated. Another couple months I'll be even happier, but at least there is major progress.
