  3. Texas House committee to investigate school districts’ books on race and sexuality: Full list of books here. One of them is literally titled "The Year They Burned the Books." I'd like to thank the "centrists" who spent the past few years hyperventilating about the illiberal left on college campuses being the real threat to free speech.

  4. Yup, every now and then I think he's coming around a bit, but then he slorch's shit up like this and proves he's the same ignorant right-wing, "muh guns", piece of shit he's always been. Anybody that defends this act based on the info presented in thread is certifiably insane. Dude was a 31 year old with a masters in financial analysis, and no criminal record I could find (just internet search), so I'm going to guess he probably wasn’t embarking on his criminal career that night. And yet slorch thinks just pulling off the road onto private property is justification for killing a guy, who didn’t even get out of his car. We only get one side of the story because the other guy is dead, and the side we do get has already been tainted by the lie of "he pointed a gun at me" (narrator...there was no gun). Holy fucking shit, just owning property and a gun doesn't give you the right to kill anyone that steps foot on your property.

  7. What's interesting about the apparent slorches of the world is that they project this kind of macho, lawnorder bluster. But what really drives the lawnorder thinker is fear. Maybe not necessarily peeing down your leg fear, but seeing personal threats where none exist, or they're at least very attenuated. Even the anger is ultimately a fear-based reaction.

  8. Lawn Order: C C U In the criminal justice system, landscape and gardening offenses are considered especially heinous. In Circle C, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Code Compliance Unit. These are their stories.

  9. First of all, leaving your house in the middle of the night with a strange car in the driveway is terrible PerSec. Make sure your doors are locked, have your personal defense weapon handy, and like GOTJ said, TURN ON YOUR OUTSIDE LIGHTS. If the guy knows someone is awake and watching, the’ll likely leave. If not, call the cops. You walk out there in the dark, you don’t know how many people are in the car, or walking around your place. Odds are higher you’re the one that gets fucked up before you can even point your weapon at them.

  10. Legit 100% of the time if I'm lost or missed a turn in a neighborhood and I pull into a driveway I always turn off my lights to check my phone gps and to not to try to annoy the people inside. I never thought that I could be shot while doing this. You are fucking insane

  12. Have to say I'm a bit surprised that people think that approaching a car parked in your driveway with a gun in your hand in the middle of the night is a reasonable idea.

  14. I don’t think our attitude has anything whatsoever to do with how shitty our football program has been, dumbass. Mack Brown didn’t steal money from us for four years because of our attitude. Charlie Strong wasn’t the worst coach in Texas Football history. Tom Herman wasn’t an oblivious douchebag because of our attitude. You can go fuck yourself.

  15. Here is some good context for Steve Sarkisian as a head coaching hire. https://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/football/coach Top 15. Not exactly lighting the cfb world on fire. The reality is the second we hired him many tempered their expectations. There is a group of guys that are running things and they have a vision for the future. In the short term, its SEC centric. In the medium/long term, its a 32 team premier league separated from the NCAA. So I wouldnt get too caught up in Texas going to the SEC. Its just a preview. Urban Meyer told it to us straight. We arent ready to win. College football left us behind. The regional powers around us are way ahead. Our administrative issues are indicative of an organization that doesnt "get it". Even if we paid him higher than anyone else, the work he would have to do wouldnt be worth it. He basically said UT is a really cool old house that he has always wanted to live in, but the costs of just bringing it up to modern standards dont make sense for him at this point. So what do we do? We hire an SEC guy (kind of) with an SEC staff (so we thought). We struck out on Muschamp and Odom and I cant even remember who else. If it felt like PK came out of left field its because he did. I actually dont hate the hire, but it was far from what we set out to do, and the results have been.......not great. What personally pissed me off the most though, is getting good information that Sark was really surprised at the lack of alum support he has at Texas. He got to find out what Meyer already told us. And without being too dramatic, I have a pretty big fucking burr under my saddle to let him know that as our coach, he has some shooters out there. That has little to do with Sark, and a lot to do with the idea that we have to start building for the future or we will keep stepping on our dicks with retread coaches or wannabes.

  17. The new secular progressive religion of liberalism? Strange you find the popularity of the foundational principles of this nation to be strange. Maybe you just run with a different crowd. And please show me where someone was forced to take the needle. A mandate for employment/participation is not forcing anyone to take the shot, as Coach Nick has demonstrated. This land of liberalism allows you to reject the mandate without any government boogeyman knocking on the door with a dripping syringe. You are free to make your choice. But your choices come with consequences. That’s a fact of life. A consequence of your actions is unavoidable, no matter how much folks might not like the reality. Coach Nick took a job with the State with clearly defined requirements. This came to include mandating that continued employment would require taking a safe and effective vaccine for a worldwide pandemic. As allowed under the terms of the contract he signed. He knew the consequences of his actions. Now he and his ambulance chaser are crying foul when confronted with the inevitable and known consequence. That’s not religious conviction, it’s not a credible medical fear, it’s the reaction of a man that has the mentality of a child. He fucked around, he found out. All because he became warped by social media and believed himself smarter than he was. Read the ESPN piece, this was nothing more than a too cute jackass who has provided inconsistent excuses and refused to accept any of the facts given to him by an administration bending over backwards to address his concerns. None of the facts mattered to Coach Nick and now he’s proven just how much he really believes in sacrifice for the team. He led four of his underlings to be unemployed and a team of young men he was charged with helping usher into adulthood to try and figure out why he put himself before the team and their goals. This is not a man who should be championed for the courage of his convictions. He is a man that should be ridiculed for failing a simple life test and failing those that depended on him to do the right thing.

  21. I finally caved last night. And it turns out she's right and this made absolute logical sense. Turns out, after I leave, Wife(who works from home) puts the dogs and one set of bowls outside until they start whining. Then in for half an hour, then back outside. This way she can have one set inside and one outside. Then she brings the bowls in at night so that racoons or rats don't find them (we back up to like this wooded alley thing). Me : Wow. That makes perfect sense. Her : Then better damn well put that on your fucking football forum, too

  35. I'm guessing that the average public school library in Texas has very very few of those books anyway. I'm sure this Krause dipshit knows that. Anyway, If I was a school librarian, I'd buy as many of those books as possible before the ban comes, then put up a display that boldly proclaimed: "These are the books that our state leaders don't want you to read. Check one out today before they are banned". Then I'd go look for a new job next school year.

  36. That transcript is an interesting read. Kirk actually pushes back and discourages violence, arguing that violence is what liberals want. That is a stupid point. But it reveals Kirk as a profiteer agitator of the Alex Jones school. He is in it for the grift. He’s not interested in a real civil war. In fact, any violence is a threat to his continuing grift. Dude just wants to make money from the perpetually angry and stupid. When shooting starts, his grift is over. These greedy fucking assholes don’t understand what they’ve done. And they don’t understand that they’re only in control so long as they echo the mob’s desires back at them. When the mob decides it’s time for violence, it will turn on guys like Kirk and Jones and even Trump if they prove unwilling to join the Storm they promised to bring.

  37. They say you only get one good dog in life, ever ones definition of a good dog is different. Some years back I had that dog and lost her. A Queensland Blue that would do anything I asked of her, and I thought at that time, the smartest dog I would ever have. She developed liver cancer at seven years old and went down hill in two months. Buried her under a two hundred year old Post Oak tree at the old home place and went to the monument company and had a marker made for her. A hundred years from now the successors of the family are going to see that Llano was a damn good dog. Had several dogs after her but to me at that time they did not measure up, until I realized that I was comparing them all to her. Once I gave them all a chance they were all the one good dog I would have in my life.
