Your approach is so insane as to be flat out evil. And you know this. Imagine person A has just enough food each day to sustain life. Person B has a pantry full of food. In your world, it would be βequitableβ to tax 1/3 of the food of each of them. So person B has 1/3 fewer bags of beans and cans of tuna in the pantryβ¦and still has plenty to eat. But, because your idea of βequityβ is so important, person Aβ¦.literally dies. He no longer had enough food to sustain life, and he eventually dies. But hey, at least itβs equitable, and you can feel good that he paid βhis fair share.β You sick fucking asshole. The government can take 1/3 from me, and Iβm plenty fine. If it takes 1/3 from someone who can barely afford their tiny apartment and the food on their table, that person is toast. And guess what? Even though you ignore the truth, the government DOES take a chunk from the poor. And every bit of it hurts. Your position is simple: they need to hurt more.21 points

Imagine feeling like you are being treated more unfairly than the poor. That is a level of grievance I will never understand.17 points

Lulz. Prime did more for Jackson state in his short time there than anyone in the history of the program. They knew what they were getting and they both come out ahead.16 points

I'm missing how that is significantly worse than what we have now?15 points

He is talking about me. But ironically I'm the one calling for higher taxes on the top and more support for the bottom. Plus, I spend all my days with guys who are working poor. I see how hard they struggle and the costs of being poor first hand. I have saved car repos, house foreclosures, medical bills among myriad other calamities for guys who worked for me, but I am all too aware that the whole rich charity thing in no way shape or form can fix societal ills, and in fact shouldn't for a lot of reasons. The guys I have helped over the years shouldn't be beholden to my whims, and mega rich guys shouldn't be able to dictate and steer policy just because of their giving. A progressive tax code that actually provided a real safety net would be a benefit for all of us.15 points

I sure as fuck donβt ever, ever want to hear again any MAGAT call themselves a βconstitutionalistβ or any shit like that. Theyβve picked their side. It is NOT the side of the constitution. They are enemies of the republic, in the direct and literal sense. I hope they keep fucking around, and they REALLY find out. Try another January 6th. But this time, the people defending the republic have belt-fed .50 cals. Iβm done with MAGATS. I hope they die. They oppose the literal essence and foundation of our country. Theyβre worse than Al Qaeda, because they are betraying their own country.15 points

Yeah but your takes suck, so there's that. I'll be there, as will many fans of the Texas Longhorns. It's a great place to watch a game.14 points

And keeping it focused and not CR at all. Dudes deserves all the Rep. @MillerEP. @atomheartbevo is also a damn good contributor. @956 Worldwide brings a good perspective outside the daily ops. All three deserve kudos. @immamac They all deserve some extra rep points or an invite to a beer. Best thread on the Surl outside of sports. well maybe some others we cannot mention.14 points

Most people arguing for "only conference champions" were actually arguing for all Power 5 conference champions as part of an 8 team playoff. 4 teams has been stupid from day 1. Win your conference and you get in the playoff, then 3 at large bids to make the "sec sec sec is the bestest football evar" people happy.12 points

If I had my way, Texas would never schedule another game against a current Big 12 team in any sport. If I were feeling especially benevolent, maybe Oklahoma State in baseball and Kansas in basketball.12 points

I have an older relative who is a Vietnam vet (draftee) couple of Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star (with the valor βVβ). Was not keen on Trump prior to 2016, ardent supporters after. Lukewarm after he lost. He posted something in support of Trump running a few days ago, and this morning I mentioned to him that Trump, a 5-time draft dodger, is telling him, a Vietnam vet, that the Constitution is meaningless. βI donβt agree with everything he says.β11 points

Elon, like most red pilled fanboys, wear blinders of idiocy. They see DNC requested tweets be taken down and Twitter obliged, and their dumb brain screams collusion, unfair, rigged because like all fanboys, theyβre so in the tank for their team, they can no longer apply critical thinking. Itβs the same for Star Wars fanboys, Aggys, gun fanboys, crypto bros, etc. They ignore that the tweets being taken down were dick pics. They ignore that Trumps made similar takedown requests that were honored. They ignore that the FBI warned Twitter about possible hacked materials, and that Twitter lawyers were consulted about NYP info and what to do. They ignore the FEC commission found Twitter acted lawfully. The narrative that Twitter colluded with Democrats to swing the election to Biden is what they want to believe, so they will accept any information that supports it and ignore any information that discredits it.11 points

Jesus I hope the good UW trash talkers just haven't made their way over here yet because the first batch are fucking awful. I like Washington and while not bringing any trash talk would be better, at least represent the university well. Hopefully what we've seen so far is just North Seattle College dropouts.10 points

We'll probably see rallies now with crowds chanting "Fuck the constitution!". CNN: "Some are saying we should abandon the constitution. But should we? We'll discuss, next."10 points

Melisa QB came into that game with 3400+ yards passing and 44 TD passes Stat line against SOC was 3 for 14 for 28 yards and 2 picks. Had a 3rd pick negated by a penalty as well. So he completed 1 more pass to his team than he did to SOC defenders. I don't remember him throwing a single pass to Malik's side of the field. Billy Walton was a bad ass as well10 points
