Dick Rod played at WVU. He was a teammate of a buddy of mine.

Cignetti also went to WVU and if I remember correctly Curt was a backup QB and threw one career pass. His dad, Frank, was head coach at WVU, replaced Bowden.

Morgantown would fucking melt down if he fucked them again, but sadly dickrod sucks so bad he will ultimately get fired by WVU before anyone else even thinks about that f'n retread.

Aggy isn't evil, I agree, if we're only talking about athletic programs. As an institution, there's an argument to be made in a different forum that they're pretty evil and complicit in the downfall of our society. But credit where it's due, the football team hasn't covered up a serial rapist.

The observation I made about the team being snakebit and cursed was amoral and intended only as an objective assessment of the team's capacity for success, which actually exceeds that of aggy. But Penn State is a rollercoaster team. Always will be.

Oh FOR FUCK’S SAKE

They’re tapping into private equity for the buyout money. He might be gone today but some political pressure probably delays it to the end of the season due to optics without a state budget.

I really, really, really want it to be true that Penn State is turning to private equity. That could become the highest order of hilarious. I cannot wait to find out what private equity's standard bust-out model (which really is straight out of Goodfellas) looks like when applied to a college athletics department. They're going to be auctioning off tackling dummies and lockers to pay for some Wolf of Wall Street motherfucker's 9-figure bonus. This could get AMAZING

Sitting at 4-2 with six conference games left, that's TBD.

If you don't view that abortion of a loss as anything but a 500 Couric bed-shitting, I don't know what to tell you. Gators are 2-4 for fucks sake, with their other win being Long Island. Even if we somehow win out and sneak into the playoffs, I will still view that loss as a fucking disaster. There is no guarantee that our OU will even be considered a good win by the time the SEC runs a train on Vegetables.

It doesn't matter how bad a loss it is if (and it'a bigly yuge if) we win out.

ESPN reported last week that a tiered structure is expected in the initial allocation of the $2 billion-plus in capital, with larger brands receiving more money. Each school, however, would receive a payout in at least the nine-figure range, sources said.

That loss was at Penn State!

They should have flown him to Chicago so they could fire him and leave him on the tarmac

Fairly surprised that they moved this fast but they want a jump on things with Florida, UCLA, Arky, VaTech already open and sniffing around.

Elko will more likely get paid at A&M. Cignetti is 64 so how much does PSU want to pay for the rebuild that will take a good percentage of his time there.

Matt Rhule good possibility. The bloom is a bit off of Matt Campbell’s rose at ISU but he may be ready to restart and he’d be cheaper. Dillingham at ASU? Fisch at UDub?

Maybe throw Drinkwitz in there. And they won’t go to the same Vandy well but Lea should be considered all over the country.

Elko feels like a double when they really need a home run.

I know college coaches are built different and they have to be. But why on earth would you leave Indiana for a couple more million a year?

He's got 72 million guaranteed in Bloomington through 2032. He can be a legend there. Or, he can take pedo state to the semis, lose 3 games the next year and get shit canned.

Because Penn State is a much better job in the world of college football and he's gonna get paid just as much.

I would have said that two years ago comparing Indiana to Penn State. But I don’t see it that way now. Ultimately though who knows what 64 year old Cig is thinking. He’s got money. He’s gonna make tons more. He’s got Mark Cuban backing him. Other than Ohio state most Big ten foes look like paper tigers.

It's still that way. Indiana is a basketball school and always will be. Penn State is football above all else.

Fair points.

I’m not worried about Cigs’ age. He turned IU into a contender within 2 offseasons. Does he want to do it again?

Yep PSU has been to the tournament TEN times total in their entire basketball history.  Texas, not exactly known as a basketball school, has been to the tournament 10 times since 2012.

Much better based on what? Can't be # of B10 titles.

Pedo St has  4 B10 championships in its entire history putting it below all programs in the B10 except...Indiana which has 2.  (I'm not including Oregon in this)

Let's look at prestige. Did pedo st ever have prestige? If it did, that evaporated decades ago.

History. Culture. Wins. Championships. Penn State is a blue blood.

Penn State was an independent until 1990

I wonder if they want that one back? They ran the Northeast and DMV in recruiting for decades.

I think Penn State is the second best recruiting job in the north.

I was told here that only the Big 12 and Yormark were desperate enough to sell their souls to the PE vampires.

Fairly certain that if Seven is ever remade the victim of greed will be a college administrator/ conference commissioner and gluttony will be a rep for ESPN.

sheep or little boys, who does elko like more. neither is consensual at either place. he should stay, if some one sees something a&m will classify it as animal husbandry.

If sark lost 3 games in a row like Franklin just did this place would make Penn st board look like  child’s play. We lead the charge in best meltdowns.

Please don’t use child and Penn St in the same post.

Yeah.  I don’t know how a college football fan for any length of time doesn’t know this

Unless he is a Zoomer.  In which case, go back to watching Real Housewives of Tacoma or Dancing With The Stars Season 73 or whatever it is y’all do.

Go TikTok something. It a tube of Sprees and drink a Diet Coke.
