Sunday Huddle: Notes and Observations from the weekend

Hudson Standish

— It’s been a bit quiet the last five days or so after an unprecedented recruiting avalanche with coaches on vacation or just taking a moment to recharge the batteries ahead of fall camp. However, I wouldn’t mistake the quiet for inactivity. Texas coaches have been ultra aggressive reaching out to elite prospects across the nation and maintaining positive momentum with their top targets.

— While it’s been a bit quiet, the player that every source is either asking about or giving information on is Longview 2023 WR Jalen Hale with the high four-star announcing a top three of Texas, Alabama, and Georgia along with a likely commitment date of September 7th. Most of the buzz I’m hearing at the moment is around Texas with Georgia acting as the primary competition. A source confirmed what most of you likely already figured to be the case, Arch Manning has been in consistent contact with Hale since his Texas commitment.

— Garland Naaman Forest DL/OL Markis Deal announced a top six of Texas, TCU, USC, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Arkansas. The feeling here has been that Texas is in the middle of the pack and after checking in with a source that’s still the current read on Deal. The source said that Deal could make the trip to Austin at the end of the month for another unofficial visit.

— Mike and I spent a couple hours yesterday watching full game(s) tape of 2023 Orlando (FL) Edgewater RB Cedric Baxter. It’s not breaking news that the No. 26 player in the nation according to the 247Sports rankings was impressive, however I’ve doubled down on my take that if positional value wasn’t a factor Baxter would be a composite five-star. Baxter has every tool in his bag as a runner and if he can improve his patience and pass protection I could absolutely see him contributing right away at the next level. We still feel great about the Horns’ chances to land Baxter and add to an already special offensive group.

— During Mike’s vacation I went out on a bit of a limb reporting Malik Muhammad’s likely timeline was still going to be late July or early August when the majority of the buzz was signaling a commitment sooner rather than later. I’m still hearing that decision timeline, but there has been a bit of skepticism regarding if Muhammad will make it to Texas A&M’s BBQ event which was scheduled to be his official visit. One source believes it’s down to Alabama and Texas with the Horns leading, but as I’ve mentioned a couple times with Muhammad there is always a chance for another twist or turn.

So MM just tweeted that he has unfinished business winning at every level in Texas and Standish is saying it feels like Texas vs Bama. How awesome would it be if he cx's his aggy OV and commits  during the pool party?

“Derrick and his wife Emily are going through some relationship issues.”

vs

Derrick has been fucking a 23 year old he hired into his department and is paying her rent, but his wife won’t divorce him because she is afraid he will get custody of the kids since she has a OxyContin habit.

Which one of these statements will start  more shit if said at a office luncheon?

Can the 23 yr old also have a drug habit please?

I just tried, its just page 316 that sucks, everything else is fine. Someone must be linking images from Belarusian porn sites.

Yep, Page 316 on this thread is literally the only one that gets messed up for me. This page works fine, just tested page 314 and 315 and they work fine.
