Nixon looked greasy and nervous on TV so that kept us from electing him to the presidency until 1968.

Dukakis looked like a dork in that tank helmet. Bush wins going away.

Howard Dean's voice cracked in a moment of high enthusiasm. Dangerous maniac! Run, America, run!

Hillary. Something about emails and Podesta pedophile pizza pies. A witch who should count herself lucky she hasn't been burned or tossed in the Potomac. (If she drowned, at least we would know she hadn't been a witch after all.)

Trump: Serial philanderer. Heathen. Moron. Failed casino magnate. Boaster about sexual assault. Tool of the Russians. Can't tell if he's lying or not about anything he says. Mocker of the handicapped. Crypto-racist. Stiffer of contractors. Hypocritical about every goddamn thing. Employer of illegal immigrants, destroyer of immigrant families. Draft dodger who demands military parades to stroke his ego. King of shady emoluments. Kids run around the world on company business on our dime.

Hypocrite. The word you're looking for is hypocrite.

It's more than that.

It really isn't anything more than blatant hypocrisy. Not that this hypocrisy is a small thing. Its actually a big problem. Creating an ethical/moral standard that you refuse to adhere to results in a severe moral decay. It's an announcement that there are no rules or boundaries that must be followed. That's how people end up with dysfunctional corrupt governments, not your average Western government corruption but dysfunctional Central American Banana Republic government.

Nuked into Bolivia.

Trump Republicans don't even pretend to be sincere. They knowingly forsake moral responsibility in the name of personal beliefs and financial greed. I don't consider that just black and white hypocrisy. It's much nastier.

This asshole can’t read for shit. “Reciprocal. My favorite word. Reciprocal.”

Did you notice how many times Putin used that word (or a variant like reciprocate) during the Helsinki press conference? It was like watching him actually pulling the strings.

Its hypocrisy but I would say its unprecedented hypocrisy. There has always been hypocrisy in politics but the level we've seen with Trump is certainly unprecedented. I am not cynically saying this is your average run of the mill hypocrisy this is definitely some next level shit.

I guess you could say its unprecedented hypocrisy with a dash of Orwellian doublethink.

"To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again, and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself—that was the ultimate subtlety: consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word—doublethink—involved the use of doublethink."

Yes you can... If he is speaking, he is generally lying. If he is tweeting, he is generally lying.

Watched that Colbert video and I didn't notice it before on the audio but who is Pastor Scott?

Remember Father Andrei on The Americans?  It's like that.

Darrell C. Scott - Scott met Donald Trump in 2011 after being invited to Trump Tower, when Trump was considering a run for president.[9][1] After Trump announced his candidacy, Scott was one of the first African-American pastors to support Trump and a key figure in leading other African-American pastors to attend meetings at Trump Tower. In 2016, Scott and Donald Trump's personal attorney and campaign spokesperson Michael D. Cohen co-founded National Diversity Coalition for Trump, that began operations in April, 2016.[10][11] The group's advisory board has leaders from American-Muslims for Trump, African-American Pastors for Trump, and Korean-Americans for Trump.[12][13] Scott introduced Trump at a rally at Cleveland I-X Center before the Ohio Republican primary and later hosted Trump at his church with a large group of pastors in attendance, the event aired on Fox News Hannity show.[5] In July, 2016, on the third day of the Republican National Convention, Scott was a keynote speaker in support of Donald Trump's nomination for the Republican Party, Scott stated in his speech that the "Democrat party has failed us".

I know that every president is accused of lying but usually it can be explained or taken in context.  However trump has now been caught in so many flat out lies, he can’t be interviewed by a news org that isn’t Fox.  Zero.   We’ve never had that before.

Same with pence.  I don’t think he’s taken an interview with any news org except fox since there have been inconsistencies with his Michael Flynn statements from over a year ago.

In 2020, we will have a major president and Vp candidate that will only speak to one network.

Perhaps all these rich as fuck Republicans who are tired of being "persecuted" and "discriminated against" on social media should plow some of their own money into creating new social media platforms.  But they won't.  They thrive off being able to cry on Twitter about how Facebook/Twitter is super mean to them.

Yeah, somehow didn't make that connection until just now.  Good lord.

Is our President being briefed on Twitter bans by reading his twitter replies?

Please God, have Twitter shadow ban Donald Trump.

Edited by jimmyjazz

Should just ban the fat fuck. It would be a great service to the country.

Illegal? Excellent. Please cite the statute or constitutional provision of law that Twitter has violated. Come on, DOTUS, you can do it.

Doesn't he get most of his briefings from twitter replies?

Hell, he copies and pastes Charlie Kirk tweets without even attributing the nonsense.

For your reference, many conservatives have tried to create “free speech” based platforms that mimic twitter/Facebook. Somehow they all turn into cesspools of holocaust denial and open bigotry. It’s just the way it goes.

Brilliant. Basically “if it’s not racist then why don’t you agree with it”.

Absolutely.  For me it's like the difference between blue collar crime and white collar crime.  A lot of times, blue collar crime is done out of desperation or heat of the moment emotions.  White collar crime is much more deliberate, calculated, and uncaring.

I don't even know how much personal beliefs play into their decision making. Seems like raw power is the main goal. Whatever it takes to get there.

Trump’s just angry that a judge forced him to unblock people on Twitter who disagreed with him. Again, someone’s not being fair to him.
