Dear Kansas City Law dogs,

Does the third circuit appeals court even have to hear the case since it’s so bunk? Can they just deny? Or is this going to the SCOTUS no matter what?

They're going to have to grant an expedited schedule for it to be at all meaningful.  A lot of the case turns on their own recent decision(s).  The merits of the case (bad) will have a bit to do with whether they grant the expedited appeal.

Other than that, no, the appeal is of right.

That’s not how that read to me at all.
You lost here, just like you lost everywhere else. Time to say adios.  Here is a perfunctory eulogy to ease you on the way.

I don't have anything useful to add to the election thread other than to urge the New York Times, when printing Rudy Giuliani's obituary at his time of passing, please use the picture of the hair dye running down the side of his face. Not photos from his time as mayor of the indomitable NYC, nor during his time as a prosecutor, nor from his many rounds as interviewee in the media. Not even the photo from the Philadelphia press conference at Four Seasons Landscaping.

No, the last impression readers of the NYT should have of this man is the inescapable and visible  truth of his vanities succumbing to gravity due to the weight of his hubris.

meh. He's left better voicemails for J.D.

He has savaged JD and Booey harder.  I think he is nail on the head about this and we should follow suit.  Fuck around and find out.   Elections have consequences.  No mercy on the unqualified and that should be the new blood sport.

I was wrong/ overly optimistic for hoping it might go differently. Granted,  it would have been grossly inconsistent for Trump.  The office means nothing to him beyond the power itself.  For a dude who thrives on calling people winners and losers, I hoped he might choose a more proper, honorable transition.  He’s just a fucking loser.

Dude, all this, the entire shitshow, is exactly what hillary predicted 4 years ago.

Also, hope in one hand, shit in the other.

It's not like he hadn't mulled over running for president prior to 2016. Wasn't his first consideration in the late 80s? He's been primed for this for a long long time. Even TV Guide wrote a (somewhat) tongue-in-cheek article in 2015 long before he was the sole GOP candidate and they had him pegged pretty good, actually. I'm fond of Jonathan Chait's essay in The Intelligencer, though. That Trump is and always has been a Russian asset.

Putin knows he is losing his best hope for a civil war in the United States. That is Putin's personal goal - according to US Cyber Command. The Russia investigation helped prepare Americans mentally for Trump's post-game demonstrations of irrationality. People have been relatively calm - a good thing for the Republic.

Cool. We need to start killing Russians. Starting with Putin.

LOL they have no idea how Wikipedia works

this is the underlying problem with trump (and anyone who listens to him).  it's either genius or psychotic or a mix of both, but no credible person has ever said or done or decided anything against him.

if someone does something in his favor, then it's fair and honest and deserved.  but if anyone says anything to contradict him, go against him, decide against him, give a bad opinion of him, then they're a democrat, a rino, a never-trumper, they have an axe to grind, they have an agenda, and therefore, they are not credible and cannot be trusted.

brann is a lifelong conservative...but an obama appointee, so clearly, he has no credibility.  because that's how judges work in trumpworld.  you never ever lose when you're trump, because everyone is either with you or out to get you.  when one person does it, he's crazy, but when tens of millions believe it, it's dangerous.

he told lesley stahl his playbook years ago - spend all your time discrediting and insulting the media.  why?  so that whenever they print something you don't like, then it's easier to discredit them or say they have a personal grudge.

you guys think trump started this battle on november 4th?  he's been fighting it for decades.

Russian Oligarchs, a/k/a capitalist gangsters?  They most certainly require neutralization. Treasury can arrange for that. They are criminals - and Trump was trying to join the Club of Corruption so prevalent around the world in third world nations - and more and more in Western Democracies.

The nation has the pall of the moments before the Yugoslav civil war  - with polarization and self-identifying factions. May Trump's better angels prevail.

He has no better angels. Think about what a completely selfish, narcissist sociopath would do - and that’s what he’ll do. Every single time. He has never deviated from that course. Never. Not even once.

And his enablers will support him.
