For no other reason than I found it funny.  I am sure the usual suspects will be posting how Biden should go to jail and is a miserable traitor for discussing policy before inaugurated.

A few of my favorites:

jimmyjazz- He was acting against US foreign policy.   He should be in prison.  That's the end of the story.  I fucking dare you to put up a cogent argument to the contrary.

Hugo- Flynn is a fucking traitor. That is all.

dennison-Why was MikeFlynn talking to the Russians?"

Hayduke- Flynn interfered with Obama’s foreign policy by negotiating with Russia and lied to Pence and the FBI about it. That was not legal.

Lagunamadre-  That would be a good defense. Guessing the prosecutors would probably point out that Flynn was a private citizen (not an "intelligence official") on December 29, 2016 when he spoke to the Russian ambassadors about sanctions. What would be your next defense after the courtroom got finished laughing at your first one?

CaptainAnt- His goal was subversion of US policy of a sitting US president, literally acting against the national interest abroad.

CaptainAnt- Suck my hairy ass and read and respond to the rest of my post while you celebrate the clearing of a person who actively conspired to subvert US foreign policy

jimmyjazz- Flynn was working against US foreign policy.  It doesn't surprise me a bit that Anastasis and others don't seem to see the problem with this.  To me, it's dangerously close to treason, but hey, that's just me.

Dennison- The FBI was well within its authority to want to look into what he and the Russians were talking about. Private citizens are prohibited from negotiating with foreign governments in disputes involving the United States.

jimmyjazz- He was working against US foreign policy.  Only in your retarded "I'm not a freak Libertarian" Libertarian pro-Trump world could you make the argument you just made and then also make any similar case had it been the inverse in terms of parties.  Dude, own your fucking Trumpiness.

jimmyjazz- No, it's because taking actions to contradict existing foreign policy with an enemy is in my view "treasonous".  Are you really struggling with this?  TRUMP HAD NOT BEEN INAUGURATED.

jimmyjazz- The President correct? What if there’s an election at the end of his term and his successor ran explicitly on overturning many of his policy achievements and defeated someone that basically ran on maintaining the status quo? What if one of the most noteworthy policy differences he was proposing was a change in the tone and direction of the foreign policy?

If he had waited a month you’d have been ok with it?

Are you fucking serious?  Of course I would have been "OK" with it, disregarding political differences.  Nobody gets a fucking head start you idiot.

jimmyjazz- Let's try this again:  do you think it's cool for a private citizen to contradict foreign policy?

dennison- Well, it's against the law.

hayduke- It’s ok to not follow the law when it’s my team!!!!  Trumpkin cant help but trumpkin!

I never was fully convinced that Flynn was traitorous until recent events proved it.  His work with Turkey is more reprehensible than what he was "tried" for, if not expressly criminal.

He is a liar and a loose cannon, though, and probably a greedy sumbitch, meaning greedy enough to compromise himself and his country for filthy lucre.

I forgot where I was.  President elect Joe Biden has openly admitted to talking with foreign leaders about changing US foreign policy while still a private citizen.  A few years ago, there were a lot of people that thought such an act was worthy of jail time.

Also, I have not yet started drinking which is a flaw on my part.

Just curious why you think his work with Turkey was "reprehensible"?

OMG! We have a Mexican assett about to take over the Oval Office!!!!! Because there is no difference in having your people collaborate with Russian and Ukrainian malefactors while lying about your business interests there and phoning (publicly) the head of state of a friendly nation on our border.

I know you hope it will be like the good times in the past, but all the people with brains and any sense of what is good for America no longer stand beside you. The didn't become ebil Dems or ebiller Libs or GADZOOKS! socialists. They just couldn't stand the absolute rotten stink of what the GOP and its merry band of traitors have been putting out there for the last several years.

Fuck off. I'm not even wasting a neg on your sorry, rationalizing ass.

No, you probably can't. It's not just that his point was stupid, it's that it was presented in such a psychotic and disorganized fashion that he left most of us wondering if he was having seizures of some kind.

But that's the conundrum @sheeeit finds himself in. He so desperately wants to lecture us on decorum now that his party is out of power, but he probably should wait a few weeks until his preferred candidate* stops trying to overthrow an election and seize power.

Lmao. Maybe you guys should read the post again.  Countless idiots on this board said Flynn was a criminal for interfering with US policy before Trump was inaugurated by having a phone call with the Russian ambassador and “discussing” US policy.

One of the biggest idiots was even presented a hypothetical where the incoming administration would do the same thing and if he would still feel the same way and he indignantly said that he would.

i guess you either have principles and character or not.

it was no big deal when Flynn talked to the ambassador and it is no big deal that Biden is doing it.   The naked hypocrisy is amusing to me

No shit.  And Flynn was the incoming National Security Advisor.  The idiots above are the ones who referred to Flynn as a private citizen because Trump wasn’t inaugurated yet. That’s the point.  By their own idiotic words Biden is just a private citizen at this point who is undermining current IS policy.

Sure it is.  Explain to me how it is different? The idiots above said Flynn was a criminal because he was negotiating US foreign policy before the new administration was sworn in.  That he was openly undermining the Obama administration.  Now, Biden is negotiating US foreign policy before he has been sworn in.  Buy that exact same definition, how is Biden not undermining the Trump administration‘s foreign policy? Do you not see the naked hypocrisy of the idiots above?

as I said, I had no problem with what Flynn did in his conversation with the Russian ambassador and I have absolutely no problem with what Biden is doing with his conversations with the Mexican president.  I am merely laughing at the stupidity of the posters that I quoted above.

The Logan act is beyond idiotic, should have been repealed 200 years ago, and is rightly ignored and flouted by every incoming administration.
With today’s modern technology I’d like to see inauguration moved up to January 1st but that’d still leave 50 days of lame duckery, at some level I guess you can’t fix that completely bc you have to have time to count the votes and deal with any kind of challenges or the like, but yeah- of course the outgoing administrations policies are going to be undermined- they are on the way out- so that’s basically definitional of being outgoing administration.

first of all, there is no indication of any "negotiating" of foreign policy with the president of Mexico. There was a conversation that happened between a current leader of Mexico and the incoming leader of the United States to understand where things sit right now and to give confidence that when the new administration starts they are negotiating in good faith on an established an aligned objective.

Flynn knew what he was doing was shady at best. Biden knew what he was doing didn't matter if it came out in public, because it's just 2 dudes talking about a world they would love to see come to be.

Flynn was talking about uh...reciprocation and active measured to be taken PRIOR TO the Trump administration being installed.

Quote

“[T]he idea is, be — if you — if you have to do something, do something on a reciprocal basis, meaning you know, on a sort of an even basis,” Flynn said later in the call. “Then that, then that is a good message and we'll understand that message. And, and then, we know that we're not going to escalate this thing, where we — where because if we put out — if we send out 30 guys and you send out 60, you know, or you shut down every Embassy, I mean we have to get this to a — let’s, let's keep this at a level that uh is, is even-keeled, okay?”

direct excerpt from the transcript.

Show me one example from a transcript that shows Biden behaving this way and I'll concede the point.

First of all, I do not care one bit if Biden changes our immigration policy. I thought trumps position on immigration was flawed and I think Biden‘s position on immigration is flawed. But both have the right to do what they think is best. To be clear, my original post (Confusing as it may be) was not, in anyway, meant to say anything about what Biden is doing or what Trump/Flynn did was either good or bad. I was just making fun of people for having stupid hypocritical positions.

That being said, I would like to debate your response a bit. First, when Biden and his team admit that in the call they talked about redeploying border assets and changing current US asylum laws and so forth, I do not see how you would say that is not negotiating foreign policy. It clearly is.  Biden is openly telling a foreign country that the current approach with them under the current administration regarding immigration is going to change. again, I have no problem with that. It is how it should be. The new administration gets to call the new shots.  It is actually much more of a negotiation and an undermining of the current policy though then what Flynn did.

Flynn did not say that any current policy between Russia and United States was going to change.  I read your posted transcript 3 times and it is just not in there. Flynn is asking that Russia refrain from a knee jerk reaction to the existing administration that would put the incoming admin in a tough spot.  I fail to see how that is even controversial.  Certainly not shady.  And Kisylak initiated the call, not Flynn.  For you, or anyone, to insinuate that what Flynn was doing was undermining US policy, then you would have to say that the US policy at the time was a hope that Russia would retaliate strongly against the United States. That is too stupid to even consider.

I have no issue with you or even the new Biden administration. We will see what they do. But, you have to admit, that a few of the lunatics above like Denison and Jimmy Jazz, openly stated that Flynn should be charged with a crime for solely having a conversation with a foreign leader before the new administration was sworn in. And, based on that, they are being absolutely hypocritical when Biden is doing the exact same thing now. What they were saying was retarded then and is still retarded now.

Because Erdogan is anti-American, both literally and figuratively: he's against everything we stand for.  He has taken probably the most forward secular Islamic country and is turning back the clock by centuries. He's probably the worst dictator of a non-banana-republic there is.

You guys are just too stupid to even respond too sometimes.  You don’t even know what you are talking about.

First, to claim that the national security advisor to the POTUS is simply a “ Foreign agent dip shit “ is kind of telling.  Flynn was trumps national security advisor.  Before joining the admin he started a firm that had foreign business dealings and, as a result, he registered as a foreign agent. Jake Sullivan is going to be Biden‘s national security advisor.  After leaving Hillary‘s campaign Sullivan joined a company called Macro Advisory Partners. The firm has many ex government people in it and has contracts with multiple foreign governments. As a result, Macro/Sullivan are registered foreign agents in the exact same filing that Flynn was. Literally identical.  I’m guessing you and the usual suspects did not know that. Biden‘s incoming national security advisor is a registered foreign agent in the identical sense that Flynn was a registered foreign agent as trumps national security advisor.

And go do a little search of the thread where all these lunatics up above made their quotes. All of them were saying that Flynn was actually talking to the Russian ambassador on behalf of Trump.  That Trump, the freakingPresident elect of the United States as you referred to Biden, should really be the one who should be charged for interfering with the current administrations policies.

The combination of your ignorance and hypocrisy is stunning.

Dumb take. Truly breathtakingly moronic to equate the two incidents. Flynn proved himself to be a foreign agent and likely go-between for the Trump campaign. Joe is speaking as the future president of the US to the president of Mexico.  Wow.

Stop lying.

Quote

In his plea agreement, Flynn admitted he lied to FBI agents about two discussions he had with Sergey Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to the United States, in December 2016 when Flynn was still a private citizen and before Trump took office.

In the first instance, Flynn — who was interviewed by FBI agents on Jan. 24 — admitted he lied to FBI agents about a conversation he had with Kislyak on Dec. 22, 2016, about an upcoming U.N. Security Council resolution. Although he initially denied it to FBI agents, Flynn now admits that he asked Russia to delay or defeat a U.N. Security Council resolution, approved Dec. 23, 2016, that would have condemned Israel’s building of settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The Obama administration had agreed to allow the resolution to come up for a vote over the objection of Israel.

The incoming Trump administration opposed the U.N. resolution, and Flynn was directed by a “very senior member of the Presidential Transition Team” to contact foreign governments, including Russia … to influence those governments to delay the vote or defeat the resolution,” according to the plea agreement. The “very senior member” of the transition team was not identified.

Quote

Flynn also admitted that he lied to investigators about a Dec. 29 conversation that he had with Kislyak. On the day of the conversation, the Obama administration announced sanctions against Russia in response to Russia’s meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Flynn called to discuss the new sanctions with “a senior official” of the Trump transition team “who was with other senior members of the Presidential Transition Team at the Mar-a-Lago resort” that Trump owns in Florida.

Immediately after the call to Mar-a-Lago, Flynn called Kislyak and “requested that Russia not escalate the situation and only respond to the U.S. Sanctions in a reciprocal manner,” the plea agreement said. Kislyak agreed that Russia would “moderate its response to those sanctions” as a result of his request, according to the U.S. special counsel’s office.

But, when interviewed by the FBI on Jan. 24, Flynn denied making such a request and could not recall if Kislyak agreed to his request.

Now tell us again how it’s the same.
