“Bro, 4.21 ain’t even that fast.”

”Heard they opened up the stadium doors behind him so it was wind assisted.”

”He’s a track guy.  Those guys can’t hang in the NFL.”

“Too small.”

”Declared early because he didn’t want to go 5-7 next year.”

I’m guessing those would be the criticisms.

I remember when Ocean Pacific was the serious flip flop.  They don't even make them anymore.

Worthy and Mitchell underperformed in our offense? Worthy went for 1000 yards last season and Mitchell had 845 yards and 11 touchdowns. All in a conference where every defense is designed to take away the deep pass above all else. But don't let facts get in the way of a good story I guess.

What I am getting out of all these brilliant Texags quotes is this common theme:

“All those players weren’t SEC ready when they went there, they were never developed, and that’s why they’re all doing so well at the combine”.

Well you see, Worthy was still underutilized, as was Mitchell, who also tested extremely well. Sanders was underutilized too, while we’re at it. Oh, and Brooks may be the RB1 in the draft - he too was underutilized. Sark is an idiot, he wasted so many plays.

And what happened to the “SEC grind”, it’s all of a sudden weak now that tu has joined?

Take your pick:

"Texas' schedule is the softest in the SEC"

"The SEC hasn't been the same since Saban retired"

"The league office / refs put their thumbs on the scale to make sure the sips win"

"Texas' entire program is built on NIL, they wouldn't have lasted a season before being able to buy their team"

I know you already know this and were asking a rhetorical question, but it will be fun to see which excuse because the officially sanctioned replacement for the "Big 12 easy" line they've been touting for more than a decade. Honestly, their ability to manage cognitive dissonance is impressive.

Yeah, the best real season those dorks have had in the SEC was with Big 12 recruits under Sumlin.

Their coveted 9-1 Covid season was a textbook asterisk joke.

The remainder of their SEC record is the same old weak middle of the pack shit.

And Elmo reloaded on players that want to play

I’ve always thought they fucked up firing Sherman. Sure they choked a bunch of games his last year but I always thought he was building a great foundation. Especially on the lines

But the would have never had the Johnny football era if he was coaching I’m sure

Sherman was adamantly against going to the SEC, as was Bill Byrne. That was all Bowen Loftin (fucking bow tie doofus). They made Byrne fire Sherman before he left collie station. Texags wasn’t having it.

Case and Justin Motherfucking Tucker got Sherman fired.  Had aggy won that game, they end up 8-5 with:

  • 1 point loss @ Okie St who ended up #3 in the country
  • 4 point loss @ Jerryworld to pig who ended up #5 in the country
  • 7 point OT loss to Mizzou who won 8 games
  • 16 point loss @ #7 OU
  • 3 point 4OT loss @ 10 win KSU

and Loochie would have been pumping sunshine like the overexuberant Tech bell ringer.

The crazy thing is, Sumlin was not a bad coach for them either.  Shit, he had like the 2nd or 3rd highest winning percentage of any coach in the last 100 years all while playing in the secsecsec (!!!)..

After that first year surprise, he was 9-4, 8-5, 8-5, 8-5, 7-5 (fired before the bowl).  He was perfectly Texas 8&5 and ended up with better results than the $95M man.

…is this when we bring up RED ZONE EFFICIENCY?

Or are we supposed to do that on another thread?

The ag’s ability to manage cognitive dissonance is the single concept that makes this thread the best thing in the history of the internet. Pretty sure Al Gore had texags screenshots in mind when he created it.

Checks notes:

6th All Time in Receptions

4th All time in Yds

3rd All Time in TD's

Checks aggy record book for where X would be:

4th All Time in Receptions

5th All time in Yds

3rd All time in TD's

Basically a top 5 WR at both schools and accomplished those spots in 3 years

This is kinda like their thing.

McNeal was better than Vince.

TMurphy was better than Roy.

Derek Farmer was better than Cedric Benson...

It's the greatest unintentional comedy of all time.

Oh, fo sho.  It's the best.

I love the fact that anyone over that looks at things objectively is labeled as some sort of turncoat.

1) Texas players are overrated

2) Texas underutilized their immense talent

3) Texas plays such an easy schedule, anyone could win 10

4) Texas loses all of that talent next year

5) They won't come close to 10 wins next year

6) repeat ad infinitum

7) Texas played a weak ass schedule (beat SEC champs at their place but, but…oh shit)

That was a different bama team. Besides it was a trap game. Bama was looking ahead towards sec conference play
