February 18, 2025Feb 18 Yep. That’s what my playing partner and I got sloshed on while winning the Epic Fail Trophy for finishing last place at the Inaugural Shaggybevo (RIP) Open at Mo Willy, circa….fuck I can’t even remember. I only really recall getting cart stuck in mud and my buddy form tackling me on the 18th green. for you old timers, I believe Snow Dog was one of our foursome. Epic day. I'm pretty sure I was behind you at the pro shop for check in. I broke the ice by announcing loudly "looks like a bunch of assholes are gonna play today."My friend who didn't even have a shaggy account was my partner so I was having to explain inside jokes to him the entire time. For some reason I decided not to drink anything that round. I chose... poorly. We were paired up with Blacklab & some guy who I think was his personal swing coach/CrossFit guru. There was a lot of flexing & stretching going on. Few jokes.Enjoyed the Franklin's afterwards & jawing with Jive Turkey. He's much taller than you'd think in person.

February 18, 2025Feb 18 My partner posted here and was my business partner in the company that hired about 10 people off shaggy. He wasn't a total ringer, but he has played some pro events.
February 18, 2025Feb 18 If you’re not recruiting a ringer for your company/charity golf tournament, you’re not doing it right. My ideal team for a charity event: 1) Ringer, to carry the team. 2) Potential donor. Hopefully we can use one or two of his shots. 3) Potential donor. Hopefully we can use one or two of his shots. 4) Me. Maybe we can use one of my putts. Maybe. Bringing the ringer makes sure the potential donors have a good time and feel generous when the ask comes at the end of the award ceremony at the 19th. Edited February 18, 2025Feb 18 by nnm

February 20, 2025Feb 20 Popular Post Guess who's feeling cunty? Spoiler Quote Even though Texas A&M football fans are no doubt still upset about the result of this past year's Lone Star Showdown, you'd be hard-pressed to find an Aggie fan who is not happy the game itself is back. The Ags are hoping for a better result than that of this past year in 2025, but it will obviously be tougher to win on the road than it would be in the friendly confines of Kyle Field. The Aggies have this as one of several prospectively tough road games on their schedule in the upcoming year. They also visit Notre Dame, Missouri, and LSU— all teams that were preseason top 10 last year and project to be tough matchups in 2025 as well. Among the many dynamics surrounding this rivalry is the constant claim of a certain section of the Longhorn fanbase that this game is not as meaningful to their program as other rivalries, like Red River. It may be surprising, then, that ESPN took the tack that they did with this game. ESPN claims Lone Star Showdown is season-defining for Texas, but not Texas A&M football In a recent article from ESPN, the Worldwide Leader went through their preseason top 25 and outlined the most season-defining game on the schedule for each. Interestingly, they called the Lone Star Showdown a season-defining game for the Longhorns, but not the Aggies. No, for Texas A&M, they called the game against the South Carolina Gamecocks— a heated rivalry, to be sure— the most important game. It's not that the game against the Longhorns isn't important, but that the one against the Gamecocks is more important. This will no doubt set off some Longhorns, who can't handle the idea of not being the most important game on someone's schedule, but I think there's a lot of truth to it. Carolina is a big swing game for the Aggies with where it occurs on the schedule, and it is all but a must-win as a result. For the Longhorns' part, their game against the Aggies could be their last shot at the playoff. What with difficult road trips to Ohio State, Georgia, and a two-game SEC trip earlier in the season, they could roll into that one with three or more losses. Texas fans may not like it, but ESPN called it correctly here. It's honestly kind of refreshing to see.
February 20, 2025Feb 20 South Carolina will obviously be a more season-defining game for the ags, because by the time they play Texas, their season will already be defined. And if I had to guess, I'd say they'll be defined as about an 8-3 team by the time they get to Austin.

Reminds me of the mid 90's and what I called the Ultimate Ringer at work. It was a women who played on LPGA tour before joining the company. Right away you had someone in your scramble foursome who could outdrive almost anyone and got to tee of from the ladies tees in the scramble. Tough combo.

Years ago I hired a young engineer who had played D1 baseball in the Big 10. He hit almost 0.330 his senior season. First team All-Conference. After graduation he played a season of minor league ball before deciding that bus rides and cheap hotels suck and he just needed to get on with his real career. He way outclassed his teammates on the company softball team. Opponents would actually get pissy about it.

He could have taken a partial scholarship tp play for SWT, but turned it down because he claimed it would interfere with his social life. When he started his long career at a regional banking system, he was put in charge of organizing golf tournaments whenever staff traveled to bank conferences or hosted such in Austin. He was happy to hand that chore off to younger & better players after he gained some seniority.

Chat GPT, generate a picture of a Texas A&M college basketball player, with a uniform that looks like it was designed by a 5 year old with a generic Hanes t-shirt, and a pair of middle-school coach shorts, who can decorate using a sheet of large stickers with various numbers, letters, stripes and sports brand symbols to place on them.
