That doesn’t make any sense

I predicted we’d open at -4 and end up -6.5. It makes total sense.

I think we cover. I'm probably more worried about at Kansas right now.

You should be extremely worried about both. TCU seems like a team perfectly manufactured to rip our hearts out late in the 4th quarter.

The crowd can be a big factor in this game. They have to keep our fragile team's emotions up in the second half.

Sold my tickets due to a fucking family wedding. (Seriously, fuck anyone who schedules a wedding during football season)

I’m betting the $500 proceeds on TCU.

If TCU wins I get $500
If Texas wins and covers I’ll be so happy I won’t care
If Texas wins and doesn’t cover I’ll be extremely happy

Yeah this is the way.  I always bet against the Horns when they are favored.

Outcome 1: Money to offset the annoyance of losing
Outcome 2: Who cares about money
Outcome 3: Double win

You really cannot lose TBH because every scenario carries a win.

Is that predictor worth a shit?  I’ve never seen it’s accuracy rate.

FPI isn't terrible, but it does factor in things like recruiting rankings and stuff that is pretty irrelevant 9 games into the year.  Not sure how they treat the transfer portal.  But looking back, it has undersold TCU all year and oversold UT, so who knows.

If this is you emotional hedge, bet the moneyline.  It's presently at +225.  If TCU wins, you get $1125 (plus your original "deposit").  If Texas wins, you'll be happy.

This thread is funny every week.

Sagarin: Texas by 6.73
Massey: Texas by 6
ESPN FPI: Texas 73%, Texas by 5.4 + homefield advantage
TeamRankings: Texas by 6.7

Texas is favored by 6.5 or 7 to open

SurlyHorns: THIS DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE

Surly consistently starts from a singular POV: Texas sucks.

The Tech loss has everyone all fucked in the head.  Everyone had Bama and OkState, on the road, penciled in as losses before the season.

We also have MDS(Max Duggan Syndrome)

I understand that the books use these computer rankings to set lines, but it is abundantly clear that the computers have massively overrated us this year.
