Holy shit, dude.

We're Texas.

Who gives a flying fuck about a Sooner or outsider narrative? Keep it together.

That's probably the healthier response. I'm fine, I just don't like this kind of shit. The backroom fuckery of 2008 still looms large in my memory.

🤘

I broke the Mateer news on a friend text chain littered with Sooner fans. And just responding with the crying laughing emoji on all their responses. These pieces of shit have been jerking off over Arch's struggles, let them wallow in this shit.

You admitted to not watching a Texas ou game. You have lost the privilege to make demands in the ou thread.

To be fair, it was due to alcohol. Have to adjust to the 2:30 games now. I was in Dallas, made it into the fair and the stadium, but didn’t make it through the first quarter.

Our record against their backups isn’t exactly stellar either.

Only when it is backups intra-game. Texas D usually plays like it has zero understanding that a starting QB could get hurt and a backup come in. Typically zero adjustments made for playing style differences etc.

I am not worried at all in this case as Texas will have damn near a month to plan for Hawkins, who I seriously doubt the new OC who came from WSU with Mateer spent more than 0.5 seconds working with.

"The narrative" matters if we are a bubble team for the CFP. Which can happen if Arch has another crappy game against a good opponent. A 9-3 Texas that has quality wins may still have a shot to get in, but it's a lot harder if our best win is against an OU team that didn't have its QB.

Sure, he did. Arbuckle will just expect this scrub to run the same shit like before. Advantage, okie

It's been 16 years since we beat blOU in back-to-back seasons and retained the Golden Hat.

I don't care if a tornado sweeps away blOU's entire QB room and they have to slap a helmet on some random methhead under a Norman overpass. We need to fucking beat them.

Just so I'm clear, OUsux doesn't have a running game and will now have to rely on a backup QB that threw for 19 of 30 for 148 yards, rushed 20 times for a net 27 yards and was sacked 6 times against us last year, do I have that right?

You can find dozens of posts on here of people saying Mateer would get hurt if their offense consisted of him running the ball 10-20 times a game. Let's not act like this is some super unlucky fluke thing that just happened to Oklahoma.

So it looks like the injury happened after the officials overturned the scoop and score.

The Scoop and Score at 12:50 and the injury at 19:41

The ultimate karma.

Mateer is a redshirt junior. He obviously has played well in college, but does not have prototypical NFL QB size and now has been injured. I wonder if he comes back for his senior season.

Quinn Ewers is making just under $1 MM this season as a 7th Round draft pick.

Mateer should come back to 0u unless he thinks he'll be drafted higher.

Any of you dumbfucks talking "narratives" and CFP chances need to go soak your heads in a toilet. Anytime we beat OU or AGGY no matter the circumstances is freakin awesome.

So the few ‘real life Texas fans’ I know well and already text with were like that sucks but I’m not gonna cry for you.  Real life aggy acquaintance ‘that’s the SEC bro. We tried telling you’.  🤤

Tell that aggy dumbshit that we hope Reed manages to stay healthy so we can ragdoll his ass all over DKR.

I think it’ll depend on how the season plays out, but Mateer needs to think about his medical redshirt  + keeping the college NIL gravy train going. Medical redshirt = 30% or less of the teams games. He’s played 4 games of a 12 game schedule so he’s already right on the line.

If it’s 8 weeks that would be the Bama game. If it’s 10 weeks that’s LSU. They’d have to be in the conference championship hunt to bring him for either game.

As long as they don’t roll out a midget RB or QB this should be considered unfortunate but good news. If I see some 5’4” midget jog out to the huddle to take the snaps or the handoff I’m gonna fucking unload on everyone.

Thats what they get for running him on short yardage plays. Their lack of running game just cost them their season.

43 rushing attempts in 4 games. Two of those were cupcakes.

I'm not gonna cheer for his injury.  He might not have been at ou long enough to be a complete piece of shit yet.

But I am thinking of all the sooners who bet on him to win the Heisman.  And I am gonna cheer for that.  Fuck 'em to infinity.

Well we backdoored them in '23 to win the B12 and make the CFP.

I'm not excited that Mateer got hurt but I don't think that will be what makes or breaks Texas' making the playoff. Unless it flips what would have been a loss into a win.

Vanderbilt, UGA and aggy are all good resume games as of now. There are scenarios where 9-3 Texas sneaks in and there are scenarios where we are on the outside looking in.

It's too early to worry about any of it afaic.
