I dumped Twitter but clicked on the Demolition Ranch link to see what they're about and scrolled down to see whatever limited posts you can see without an account. It seems to be owned by a right-wing gun nut, seen here endorsing Brandon Herrera who ran for Congress against Tony Gonzales in South Texas in the GOP primary.

To be clear, I'm not accusing either of them being part of some conspiracy, but if Nicole's logo is in fact associated with the shooter, it might turn out that he was pissed off at Trump for right-wing reasons. Of course, it could just be a guy that liked Demolition Ranch-branded stuff.

Shocking but he’s aggy

Yeah - I'm wondering what "data"?

The only "data" that matters in 2024 are talking points and image.  Trump is dominating on both sides of the ball there.

aggy doctor.  Dad had a clinic when I lived there, too.

Lmfao he's a doctor if you're furry and have 4 legs. Dude is a vet in the north of San Antonio area, IIRC. He inherited his dads clinic when his dad retired.

So, where does this put us on whether the polling showing Donald Trump winning the youth vote is accurate?

I’d say from a pure statistical analysis the anti-Trump numbers are down by 1

I think this assignation attempt will eventually help the democrats. As mentioned earlier, Trump’s  base is already locked in. Soccer moms and people who were starting to lean towards Trump 2.0 will see this and worry about what other violence another Trump term could lead to. With the BLM riots and Jan 6th fresh on their minds, they might think voting for Biden buys them some peace despite not agreeing with him politically.

This is some extremely wishful thinking. This is the holy mecca for both siders everywhere. And we're going to hear A LOT from them in the months to come. "See, it's actually the deranged left pushing this country to violence."

Also lulz about people deeply concerned with BLM riots voting for Biden.

The last 20 years has been full of “operation chaos” bullshit.  Most recently with all the leftists registering R to promote Trump down ballot loons.  Example A1 being Mr. Crudités in PA.

stop being disingenuous

Yes, upper class white women who couldn’t get to their Whole Foods because every major American city had riots can definitely be scared into voting for perceived peace.

What would the (R) nomination process have looked like if dude aimed a little to the left?

Chaos. Convention floor fight. I bet every one from Vance to Burgum to Noem would claim they are the rightful heir and were the VP pick so it should be them. Even though it hasn’t been made public who it is

NBC poll: Trump +2 in the two way (no change since their last poll in April), Biden +3 in the three way race

Think trajectory was more or less from behind and over trumps right shoulder? So a little left would have hit head.

Ahh,  I thought the shot was from the front or left looking at stage.  People in the stands pointing that direction

He apparently registered as a Republican when he turned 18 and had only voted once, in 2022, and never again. Doesn’t seem like a sleeper agent situation. Could be a kid that just changed his views, or a Nick Fuentes fanboy that was mad at Trump. Or just another angry mentally sick young man that wanted some fame. We’ll probably never know.

At least this event took focus off all of the democrats publicly calling for Biden to exit the race. They need to figure all this out behind closed doors outside the public eye.

I will say the shooter being a young white guy isn’t going to give Trump the bump that it would’ve had the shooter been in one of “those” groups.

And how stupid are we as a society to think getting shot at suddenly makes you a better presidential candidate

He also donated to a progressive group so who knows how he really felt.

Not exactly what I was hoping for when I said that the Democrat's best chance is for Trump to do something crazy to take back the news cycle.

Dude. You're hoping that well-off white people who immediately associate "BLM" with "business crippling riots" are going to save the Biden candidacy. Shit. We are fucked.

Bread and circuses, my man.   If it bleeds it leads and this makes great entertainment for the masses.

Gotta distract them from the Supreme Court gutting the Constitution and corporations turning the country into a fascist oligarchy.

We'll just have to see how it plays out because it's unprecedented in the modern environment, but I expect it will result in a modest but tangible rally around Trump. Some will buy the GOP's cries about the big, bad, radical left (which, I mean, the fucking gall to not only lie outright but ignore their own record - but it will work to a degree because for whatever reason we grade these two parties on different scales as a society), some will gravitate out of sympathy or the perceived law and order stance from the Trump/GOP platform.

The polarization of the day will likely make this effect relatively limited but even another point or two shift toward Trump about wraps this thing up. Especially given the impact will be most pronounced in PA, without which Biden has zero chance of winning.

At this point I do not see a path to victory for Biden.

I prefer my presidents not get shot like he prefers his war heroes not get captured.

Trump’s team getting him mostly out of the spotlight after the debate was good strategy. Let the country talk about how unelectable Biden is, and not how crazy Trump is.

I have my thoughts about the assassination attempt which I won’t share, but I’m sure many here will agree with my thought.

But I think this will bring the spotlight back onto Trump and he won’t be able to not say some crazy shit that’s gonna turn off the people in the middle who haven’t already made of their minds.

So the right will start blaming Nikki Haley, Chris Christie, and Liz Cheney now?

Do we know he voted at 18? We know he registered to vote.

My point is we don’t know what he was thinking. He could have made the donation to impress a girl, he could have done the registration for the same reason. We don’t know.

I hope we get forensic confirmation on whether or not Trump actually got hit by a bullet or a glass fragment which was reported earlier.

Pedantry about the forensics of the Trump assassination attempt is so on brand for the left.

I don't either. Arizona is definitely in play for Biden. But it really all comes down to Pennsylvania. If he loses that, it's over.

Not unlike the 2A/MAGA folks who bog down discussions following mass school shootings, right?

Holy shit, this can't be a serious post. Every school shooting is a fucking beacon for your local gun nut to start lecturing you on what caliber bullets from what rifle can and can't do to a human body. And how making this type of gun harder to acquire won't matter because there's a WW1 variant that's widely available that would be just as effective.

I guess you didn’t see the dozens of posts declaring this was a pellet gun, airsoft, faked or …. In the minutes after the shooting because of the super duper intellectual power to identify the weapon from the initial audio.

What do you think your point is exactly? Do you even know? Or nah, just shooting from the hip, so to speak?
