They are the very fucking definition of extreme outliers.

Statistically rare, but not really outliers. Any sufficiently large sample set would be expected to have these sorts of individuals.

Burger and Rubio have been told they aren’t the vp pick. Annoucement in 2 hours

As far as those polls, I’m not sure what Biden can do to make up ground or if that’s even possible. I can definitely see a scenario where people vote trunp for president but vote dem everywhere else.

I thought no matter if it’s Biden or not that the main focus was the House and the Senate. He was at 37% favorability before the debate so I thought quietly they were prepared to fight for the House/Senate regardless. Even prior to the debate.

thats why when registered to vote fuckers say they won’t vote or will sit on their hands—-do they not understand the house and senate are important? Damn.

OK, so you don't care. There are millions of rabid Trump/MAGA shit-heads out there salivating to start killing liberals. If this kid had been a Democrat, they might've gotten their wish. It is still going around conservative social circles that this kid donated $15 to some dark money Democratic PAC when in fact that was a completely different person with the same name.

I know there are other people named Thomas Crooks who live in Pittsburgh, but the $15 donation was from 15102 which is Bethel Park where the shooter is from. The donation being on Biden’s Inauguration Day leads me to believe it was done as a bet or something related to the inauguration since he registered as a Republican later on.

The Dems SHOULD flood the airwaves w/ these quotes throughout the remainder of the election...but they won't.

Vance certainly articulates the argument better than the democratic nominee.

Good luck with that Trump.

Are we having a VP debate because Kamala may be looking forward to busting that one out

So this is inaccurate?

Out of curiosity, what does a Trump white male look like? Seems like he attracts angry losers of all shapes and sizes.

I think Rex is unfamiliar with the 4chan / Incel wing of MAGA. Or maybe he just refers to them as "outliers"

Maybe, but no one cares about the VP candidate.

Absolute outliers. You people have lost your minds.

I don't think you understood what I wrote. The term outlier has a specific meaning in statistics. I don't believe the term really fits here because these sorts of individuals would be expected in any large enough sample. They are rare (extremely so). But they aren't unexpected or abnormal observations.

Perhaps we should start caring, seeing as the two presidential candidates are 80 year-old men. One who occasionally appears to be sundowning and the other who brags about passing neurologic exams and subsists on McDonalds.

In a debate, Vance would say that he's completely in favor of a woman getting away from a violent husband. But you have to remember that those like Vance only believe this IF there can be a criminal conviction of the violent act(s). Without that, they believe the marriage should stay intact for the children.

15102 is Bethel Park. It’s like if someone from Pflugerville donated and it got listed as Austin but with their Pflugerville zip code. Google “Pittsburgh 15102” and Bethel Park shows up.

so... has this been verified? i mean i know maga won't believe it regardless, but im just wondering if this has been out in the ethos for a while now and confirmed legit for normal people. or has Ron been hanging onto it waiting for the right time? sonder how he got it... is the 'friend' a pol, or a never-trumper, would be great if s/he could confirm it...

i know, wishful thinking.

i sent Joe some $$ last night after his remarks, but if the dems have literally already given up, fuck them.

I believe they are confirmed as they came from one of his law school classmates McLaurin who is a Democrat in Georgia.

This would make a lot of sense.

It is accurate, but not inconsistent with it being the shooter. You can actually pull more information from the image, including the address.

2506 Milford drive is owned by Mathew and Mary Crooks, and has been since 1998. Given that the shooter's name was Thomas Matthew Crooks, I feel pretty confident he is (was) their son.

Mainly the debate. I don’t think they’re fired up.

I love this hard push to call the mental patient a Republican when he was 20 years old, so his affiliation is meaningless. But it’s clear yall are trying really hard to obfuscate he is the furthest thing from Trump a white male can get, and very well could’ve been progressive.

The 'republican' thing might be a red herring.  Here's a few other republicans that are sad that lunatic didn't kill Trump (Joe Scarborough, Ana Navarro, Rick Wilson, among others).  The republican label is being used to defend against him being identified as a dem/liberal and radicalized by their rhetoric.

One thing I haven't seen discussed although Hugo kinda mentioned it, is the environment that created this attempted assassin.  Social worker and a psychologist for parents.  I'd pull on that thread if I was an investigator.

Vance is a Thiel acolyte.  Trump's rationale there I'm guessing is to help pierce the blue wall because it does nothing else to expand the electorate.  But it will bring Thiel $ in.

They’re abnormal observations, extremely rare, and outliers. I don’t think they’re unexpected and never have been.

Something being rare as in having a lower frequency of appearance doesn't make it abnormal. If I had a 1,000 sided die, the chance of any one side coming up could be call rare. But observation of that occurrence wouldn't be unexpected or outside what we would predict. If the results aren't unexpected, then they aren't really outliers. An outlier in the US would be no shootings for a year or perhaps many shootings concentrated in a small area. Those observations would be unexpected and suggest a major chance or an error in the data. A young white male engaging in a shooting would not.

Rex played this same game in a discussion about some of the beliefs of rural Texas evangelicals a couple of months ago, in spite of what another guy and I (both of us grew up in Southern Baptist churches in West Texas) were telling him.

He's either a) lying, b) has his head in the sand, or c) has no clue.

I’m curious if they even did any vetting of Vance ?

Is Ohio in play and Trump needed to make this move to pick up the state ?

what's going to come out once the deep dive into his background begins ?  I’ll guess closet homo

Yep. Vince McMahon (Trump) just made Vance's character a face, so years of actions and quotes as a heel no longer matter. He's good now.

He grew up in Middletown (midway between Cincinnati and Dayton). Despite that, the area has strong connections to West Virginia and Eastern Kentucky. I only know because I'm adopted and have since met my birthmother and some of her family who grew up there. The whole clan, along with thousands of other poor hillbillies, moved en masse from working in the coal mines of Appalachia to that area to work in the steel mills. My 93yo birthmom's mom has some interesting stories to tell about her Depression-era childhood and lugging buckets of water to their shanty up in a holler before they made the move.
