If that dress was valued at $19K initially, I have wonder how much it would bring at auction right now?  Seems AOC wearing it probably increased the value of the dress as well as the designer.  Thinking somehow she should get credit for that which would probably offset the increase of the rent.

Yeah.....but still....it's inexcusable and unforgiveable.

I've gotten used to my country being the worst, might as well get used to my generation being the worst.  And we're going down with both ships.

He's right. Every single generation gets conned into believing their wealth is being stolen from them. That one party keeps doing this successfully to each generation does say a bit about the average intelligence of the citizenry to keep falling for it.

Scotland is on a roll:

On my mom’s side of the family there were Scottish ancestors. Her mom’s family came over from Scotland in 1640 or so if memory serves correct. One of them founded Wofford College. I think that @Ghost of LL would find that humorous and he knows why. All of those wonderful Scottish insults of TFG sit well with me.

These people…Hoo boy! We’ve got a dictator stealing millions and millions of dollars of our money and they decide to try to force AOC to pay more for a dress she rented four years ago. I want the House Democrats to form a new committee when they have control of things and have it called the committee on morals, social media and internet related ethics. First thing to investigate is Mike Johnson’s computer to see what VPN he is using to view porn. Might as well make a complete spectacle out of that cowardly little person. Right after that they can investigate Jim Jordan for the Ohio State wrestling abuse.

Would be valued for more of it wasn't washed after she wore it I bet

Well, when you have the choice to help the less fortunate or incarcerate them, you incarcerate them.  That's what Jesus said.  Plus the free labor is good for the economy.  It's a win-win.

To quote one of @Brisketexan early statements that I took as hyperbole (well used) but now see as concrete truth:

Cruelty is our brand.

I google this and got a thousand references to non cruelty to animal products. I tried other things and got the below from an NY Times book review of Cruelty Is The Point.

Ouch.

Compliments to BrisketTexan for maybe coining the phrase.

I think its just him finding them ugly. His golf course just north of Aberdeen has giant windmills just offshore "ruining" his aesthetic.

There’s nothing magical about Gen X specifically. Every generation gets stupid, greedy, and bitter as they hit their midlife crisis. That’s why whatever group is in its 50s at the time supports the party that tells them poor people are stealing your nest eggs and offers low taxes and protection from the unruly socialist mob.

The whole generational thing comes up too much. I know I'm a boomer. I know how the times affected us. We share memories. I generally don't give a rat's ass. If the others all became serial killers doing something unheard of like shooting up a school or church or Walmart, I wouldn't feel an ounce of responsibility or  shame.

That he doesn’t drink alcohol is one of the few things he’s said that I believe. He’s not drunk. He’s just a fucking idiot.

That's the president of the EU having to sit there and listen to this crazy rant from an American President. I wish Trump would tour all of Europe with his power-drunk buffoonery on full display.

The West needs to fully realize just how far the US has fallen. We should never  be called the leader of the free world. The free world needs to prepare to get along without us. They also have to prepare to deal with an adversarial US.

Europe is on its own from here on out. I wish I were a European. On the continent, there still seems to be a great concern for the common good. On a trip there two years ago, I couldn't avoid noticing how much they've reduced their use of plastic.  We can't be bothered to give up hamburgers (nobody proposed that, of course) to make a less horrific world for generations that are alive today.

We need to be hated and reviled by the better countries. It's their best chance. And we earned it in a period of less than ten years. Stunning.

I should clarify—he’s drunk on whatever drugs his team pumped him up with to go out there

I posted about this about a year ago but one of my clients is a big Trumper, rich and great golfer.  He has played behind Trump at some of his clubs and said you would see Trump drive a ball into the woods and then his caddy would drop one for him to hit in the middle of the fairway.  Of course, while I think that makes him a cheating sack of shit, my customer just laughs it off.

The GF's uncle passed away a few years ago.  He was a New Yorker and a country-club guy. We were at lunch and the GF asked him if he ever had dealings with Trump.  He says he's only been around him on the golf course, and he's widely-known to be a cheating POS.  Said a buddy of his played a round with him.  They watch Trump hit it into the woods.  Everybody is looking for his ball.  The buddy spots a ball with the Trump logo, and as he's bending down to pick it up,  Dotard's in the fairway yelling "FOUND IT".

Holy Crap. The White House edited a video, paid for by U.S. taxpayers, to make it appear that Putin didn't say he wanted Trump in office.
