Yesterday: Tulsi being confirmed is a new low.

Today:  hold my beer.  RFK Jr. is now confirmed as the head of HHS.

As I said.  All this ass clowns would be confirmed.  Let them hang themselves with their incompetence.

Incidentally, “recess appointments” are what Matt Gaetz calls his dates.

I genuinely don't understand why you post here. Literally everyone here thinks you're of significantly below-average intelligence.  Even the people who agree with your positions on a topic sigh a

Didn't think that RFK would make it across the block. I don't think that he will be in the position long. He will be fighting against like basically every well monied lobby interest in DC that isn't not related to the arms industry. Obviously, I am pleased that Tulsi is in. Surprised that not a single Democrat voted for her. Bernie is spineless and has zero loyalty. D's ran a tight ship though.

"isn't not related to the arms industry." Nice double negative.

Of course Ana is pleased that Tulsi is in, since she so often is happy to parrot literal Russian talking points.

So do I need cancel my lunch order now to find something healthier so I don't end up in a RFK fat camp?

Of all the camps this admin has proposed, it definitely the better option

Yep.

It's going to cost them elections. DOGE, too.

And spare me the "but what elections?" BS.*

Why should we spare you that?  At this point, do you not believe that Elon Musk and his minions are directly plugged into every election apparatus that matters in every location where it matters?  We've handed the keys to our entire system of government -- the whole goddamned thing -- to a deranged, evil tech billionaire.  We have a fucking Bond villain running everything....you think we're going to have fair and functional elections?

Four years?  Haha.  More like four months.

If we don't will you? We'll of course have to define war, but I am open to the notion.

And would be all over this action if we can scope out reasonable terms.

Serious question: do you know anyone here IRL? And I don't mean you stalked someone at a tailgate and made them see the light of libertarianism - would anyone else that posts here call you a friend?

Yeah.....he's not broadcasting "our vulnerabilities."  He's a complete fucking idiot who is completely fucking wrong.  The only place our navies have anything close to parity is in submarine fleets.  By every other measure....no.  Not even close.  The Russian navy's ability to project power is nowhere close to that of the US Navy.  That's not jingoistic rah-rah bullshit, that's just simple truth.

Give the dude a break. He's probably really hungover.

Should I be surprised or disappointed that Murkowski voted yes to all of these fools except Hegseth?

She already survived running as an independent. I thought she had a little more spine.

The minute Hegseth got through, it was a clear sign they were all going through.

Pete Hegseth Roasted Over ‘Huge F*ck Up’ and Clean Up on Ukraine Negotiations: ‘Amateur Hour’

https://www.mediaite.com/news/pete-hegseth-roasted-over-huge-fck-up-and-clean-up-on-ukraine-negotiations-amateur-hour/

Quote

Hegseth made news on Wednesday by declaring “we must start by recognizing that returning to Ukraine’s pre-2014 borders is an unrealistic objective” and arguing that Ukraine joining NATO was not likely.

Many pundits and observers slammed Hegseth after he walked back the comments, arguing that he had given up leverage to Russia without gaining any concessions.

The National Review’s Mark Antonio Wright shared Schifrin’s post and wrote, “The SECDEF’s not a “realistic outcome” comment on Ukraine and NATO membership was in his prepared remarks. Amateur hour from @PeteHegseth and his staff.”

This dude is an unqualified clown.

My understanding, at least from someone who would know, is that most Russian subs are diesel and loud as shit so we know where they are. The nuclear subs are usually in port hooked up to the power grid.

Hegseth is a fucking idiot.

He’s a first ballot Moron Hall of Famer. The United States Navy would make the loss for the Russians at Tsushima look like a great outcome for this incarnation of its navy. It’s like putting FAMU’s football team up against the early 90’s Cowboys. I mean Jesus tapdancing Christ their navy can’t even handle doing anything well fighting against Ukraine. We would not lose a single capital ship fighting against this array of clown college grads currently in control in Russia.

The Yasen-M class is a very capable boat and the Improved Kilo II is as well.  The latter is a diesel-electric but it is astoundingly quiet and well-armed.

The Russian military has pockets of competence and investment and the submarine service is one of them.  The Chinese would very much like to have boats as capable as the Russians.

When I was twelve, I helped my daddy build a bomb shelter in our basement because some fool parked a dozen warheads 90 miles off the coast of Florida. Well, this thing could park a couple hundred warheads off Washington and New York and no one would know anything about it till it was all over.

Yea but have you factored in our navy being commanded by Hegseth and Donald J. Trump?  That is one hell of a handicap

China, maybe, just because they have a bunch of smaller craft for a conflict in the Phillippine Sea and thereabouts.  The Russian navy is a joke.

The IRS only audits incoming cabinet picks for the opposing party. That is the only explanation.

Murkowski and Collins were the only Fascist Party members of the Senate who voted against him.
