That's bodark round these parts frenchy

Ha. I was young and really don’t remember how to spell it. My grandparents lived there and we’d visit. Christmas of 1983 was one of the coldest winter events in Texas. My idiot cousin took my older sister out joyriding in his truck, they hit black ice coming down a hill and my sister was thrown from the vehicle. She miraculously lived but got Theismanned before Joe got Theismanned and broke her leg behind her torso in 7 places. Somehow, she kept her leg and spent 3 months in a hospital in fucking Tyler. We’ve never been back to Bodark/Beau D’arc, thank God.

Yikes.

I didn't know there was such a town in Texas.  I just know the tree/tough wood and its fanous fence posts.

And apparently it's bois d'arc.

This is the way I've been preaching since the move was announced.  People sorta shit on the "Pod" idea but it makes the most sense.  3 Rivals/close teams.  6 teams you do a home and home with, then the other 6 teams do the same thing.  Every 4 years you've seen every team in the conference twice.

This is by far the most logical way to do it, so it’s probably the least likely to happen…

9 conference games sucks stay at 8

Texas eats what it kills and does not need "the other conference members" to carry the schedule....Texas can get anyone and everyone they want on the schedule and Texas is a national brand not a conference fanboi (we can leave that to aggy)

if you have the weaker programs start taking another L in a conference game instead of an OOC cupcake that drags down the entire league just as the 8 vs. 9 conference game study on the old PAC 12 showed

there is no "good loss" on strength of schedule and there is no strength of schedule points for "a tough conference foe loss" vs. a win over shit state u......and the worse your other conference members are that impacts you directly when you play them and that impacts the other members of the conference when they play them.....and then the other members of the conference that you play bring their weakened strength of schedule to you as well.....plus the additional game just makes it even worse.....it is a 3X hit to strength of schedule.....weakens yours as a direct opponent, weakens other conference members and that carries over when you play them.....and in the case of Texas that can get a quality OOC game it weakens it yet again with a conference game replacing a better OOC game

fuck this inbred 9 conference game bullshit stay at 8 and be a national brand.....let aggy and others schedule each other "out of conference" if they want more conference games which is equally if not more stupid, but the ACC does it on purpose and the Big 12 did it last year (and I think this year) because they were too lazy to change up already scheduled OOC games when new members joined......and one can see the results with struggling worse than the ACC to get teams in the playoffs

No decent OOC opponent is going to agree to coming only to Austin which is the only reason we're all stuck at 8 conference games. Everyone wants their home cupcake. So no, Texas can't get anyone and everyone they want on the schedule. You can get Sam Houston State, Rice, and Louisiana spare schools to agree to that. Any decent P4 school is going to ask for a home and home, like Arizona State did (2032-2033).

but Texas already has a quality OOC game home and home

the idea that lower level SEC schools that lose a shit quality buy in win will remain competitive over the long haul or even in the short term is simply not true.....they will fall off the map in short order and will be as uninteresting (probably less) as any former shit quality Big 12 team was so attendance for Texas at home will fall off the map for those teams and will be no better than the shit quality buy in win Texas already has

Texas sells winning and winning big on a national stage.....aggy sells "we in the sec sec sec" and "conference games it just means more"

No. Go to 9. Don’t be a pussy.

This home schedule would be great for those of us who go to games.

27: Michigan, NMSU, UTEP, aggy, Bama, OleMiss, Miz
28: LA Tech, UTSA, pig, UGA, TN, UK
29: Notre Dame, ULM, UTEP, aggy, UF, Aub, Miss St
