IIRC you're PD. Is that correct? If so, you're the first, other than a couple of the chiefs that have spoken up at press connferences, that I've seen speaking out against this bullshit. I've been thinking there must be LE out there who are sickened by ICE's disgusting shit, and I've wished more would say something.

Broadview, Ill. police and Chicago police gave lots of testimony in the Chicago guard deployment case that a) the situation was under control without federal agents or guard b) federal agents and guard often exacerbated any situation and c) that ICE agents were often the first aggressors in multiple situations.

After video evidence, they were the most convincing that ICE was lying its collective ass off.

NSIAP - from a few days ago, in regard to the mask thing - if they are being filmed, they put their masks on. They are ashamed.

This video is terrifying, and it’s exactly why “just comply” does not protect you from ICE/Border Patrol agents, even as U.S. citizens, and why you always film them.

In North Carolina, ICE/Border Patrol agents illegally stopped two U.S. citizens. They questioned them without legal cause, took their licenses, and admitted on camera that the men were allowed to record.

And they were still attacked.

In the video, one man asks if he can film for his safety. The agent says yes, saying that he’ll “have to put his mask on.” The agents take their licenses, ask where they’re from, where they live, what they’re doing in the area, all without legal authority. The men cooperate anyway.

Then the situation turns dangerous.

Another agent suddenly tells the driver, “Turn off your video. You are being detained, so you are not free to record.”

That is false. Recording law enforcement in public is legal, including during detention.

The driver calmly refuses, keeps one hand on the steering wheel as instructed, and holds his phone in the other.

That’s when the agent lunges for the phone.

The agent throws himself into the car, trying to grab the device. When the driver moves it away, the agent assaults him.

The agent then illegally opens the car door, something the driver correctly points out they are not allowed to do.

The agents keep demanding the filming stop, as multiple agents keep reaching for the phone.

Then they escalate again.

They threaten arrest, grab the driver, and start hitting him and trying to drag him out of the car, even though he keeps saying, “We haven’t done anything wrong.” When they fail to pull him out, they back away, visibly angry.

They turn on the passenger next.

An agent grabs him, threatens handcuffs, and assaults him trying to force him out of the vehicle. When that doesn’t work, they start yelling conflicting commands, claiming the men are “interfering with an investigation.”

An investigation into what?

Their own illegal stop.

At one point, an agent shouts that the men can’t interfere, while another tries… again… to grab the phone, almost certainly to stop or erase the recording.

Only after all of this do the agents finally release them.

Because they are U.S. citizens.

Because the stop was illegal.

And because the camera was still rolling.

This is why you film ICE.

This is why compliance doesn’t save you.

This is why they hate cameras.

If this hadn’t been recorded, this would be another lie in a report, another “resisting” accusation, another abuse buried and denied.

Film them. Always.

I woke up this morning angrier about this than yesterday. Doesn't help to see Vance continue to double down on this all being Renee Good's fault.

Also, I don't think Dems should call ICE a terrorist organization. I think they should talk about abolishing it. No more name calling, promise action.

IF (big if) the D's gain control of the house can they slash the DHS budget next year? I know the Senate will puke on it and so will Trump, but it's something.

None of this will change until ICE agents actively fear for their safety.

The concern is they'll bring more resources to bear. Seems to me the better option, as hard as it is, is to know your rights, peacefully resist and record it all. If we deserve to exist as a nation, that WILL move the needle.

A murder was captured on film yesterday from multiple different angles and you’ve got the President and VP publicly lying about what is on film and tens of millions lining up behind them to cheer the murderer on.

We are so far past the ability to Instagram our way out of this.

The thing is that yesterday is yet more proof that that isn't enough to protect you, even if you're a white woman who couldn't look less threatening if you tried. ICE will scream contradictory (and illegal) commands at you and then murder you for failing to immediately comply because they get off on it.

chucklefuck in a group chat told me yesterday "Just comply with law enforcement" with regards to the woman who got killed, getting sent this tweet this morning before I delete twitter for good (probably)

I don't think they are ashamed at all. They just want to remain anonymous because they are doing shady shit and don't want any possible repercussions later. Feeling ashamed is something a normal person would feel doing this shit. A normal person who wouldn't take that ICE job, no matter how much they money whip you.

  • Macklin Good had a daughter and her son from her first marriage, who are now ages 15 and 12. Her 6-year-old son was from her second marriage.

  • Trump administration officials painted Macklin Good as a domestic terrorist who had attempted to ram federal agents with her car. Her ex-husband said she was no activist and that he had never known her to participate in a protest of any kind.

  • Her ex-husband, who asked not to be named out of concern for the safety of their children, said Macklin Good had just dropped off her 6-year-old son at school Wednesday and was driving home with her current partner when they encountered a group of ICE agents on a snowy street in Minneapolis, where they had moved last year from Kansas City, Missouri.

  • He described her as a devoted Christian who took part in youth mission trips to Northern Ireland when she was younger. She loved to sing, participating in a chorus in high school and studying vocal performance in college.

Don't look away. We have to stop this regime. Now.

Oh fuck. Hearing the son’s desperate cries for his mom. My god

While the language in this post might be a little bit over the top, ICE agents are interfering with a peaceful protest in a public right-of-way outside what appears to be a detention center or some sort of facility. They are on the street, but even if they are on the sidewalk, that remains LOCAL public property.

Question for the legal eagles: Are protestors required to comply with their orders since ICE, specifically, has no legal jurisdiction over US citizens unless they are interfering with operations or something like that?

These guys are asking for a DC sniper situation. I'm not advocating it or celebrating the idea in any way, but they are gonna grab the wrong veteran's mom, some guy who got shipped off to Iraq and who's been trying to hold it together after all that he's seen, and he's gonna fucking snap and go take some scalps.

Dumb question perhaps, but can Minnesota law enforcement issue a warrant for his arrest and charge him with murder? What happens if everyone believes this was murder except for ICE, DHS, and Trump?

Sure, even if convicted, maybe Trump pardons him, but make that play out.

The Hennepin County Attorney's office and Minnesota AG office will absolutely be opening inquiries into the case.

That said, Star Tribune is reporting that the FBI has booted the state BCA off the case, and local investigators are saying that they can't access any evidence.

Anyone want to take a bet that this case never sees the inside of a jury room?

State agents ousted from ICE shooting probe, feds take co...

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said Thursday it was told the FBI is now in sole control of the investigation around the killing of a woman in Minneapolis Wednesday by an ICE agent.

This needs to blow up. This is fucking insane. Same level as George Floyd, IMO.

There have always been people who would do shit like this. But when it's an entire political party embracing those people and specifically this type of behavior, and it's specifically enabled and encouraged by the richest men on the planet, it's really hard to imagine a future in which we can all live together peacefully. These people need to be scared back into their basements and anybody with any wealth or power who even considers enabling or supporting this sort of behavior should be launched into the goddamned sun.
