Transfer Cycle 2025-2026 - Pining For IOLs Who Can Fog A Mirror

Featured Replies

Singleton would be reuniting with his old OC (Buster Faulkner) and a bunch of his old teammates at Florida. It makes a ton of sense if you take the money out of the equation.

We’re taking guys who struggled to play for the worst FBS team in the country and who have helicopter parents

Well started watching the Oregon/Oregon State full game replay to get a sense on Sikorski and the first snap for Oregon State certainly wasn't a great start.

I'm not an OL guy, but he looks competent but weak. Lacked strength to move anyone but also I only saw one Stroh where he completely whiffed because the DL wasn't where he thought he should be. The sad news is that he was not great from what I saw, but he would have also been better to have on the field than the guy we were starting at LG that week. I don't know, he can fog a mirror and could get stronger. Ringing endorsement, sure, but that's where we are IOL-wise.

I mean, he started out on the defensive line in 2024 and only started half of the season this year at guard. My expectations are fairly low for someone with that kind of profile. Hopefully this is the floor on offensive linemen that we bring in the portal.

that appears to be the grades from the Oregon game, not the season

My rudimentary googling skills led me to understand that he played three full seasons and two games of a 4th (my assumption was that was injury related).

He sat the bench on a title team and is now retroactively, with the help of the ever scrupulous Ole Miss and Tom Mars, trying to claim he was sick and couldn't play. He also doesn't have any documentation. This is someone attempting to throw the one thing out that everyone wants to keep - some semblance of an eligibility guard rail. Pavia fucked everyone by getting the Juco rules waived. The NCAA screwed the pooch with the corona year. No one wants to see the 5 years to play 4 rule go away. If Chambliss wins this, and this is one that the NCAA isn't guaranteed to lose, then we will see 30 year olds playing. At that point, just cut the scholarships and school ties from the teams and start over.

Now that Winston and Townsend are expected back, can someone tell Becton to stop turning our TE room into a bunch of dough boys?

Jordan Washington playing at 265 was asinine. Having YAC guys like Townsend and Winston gain 30 lbs in their first offseason here was stupid too

Kyle Flood's fetishes are infected the program.

You came close to getting something right here. Townsend and Winston looked good and neither looked fat or overweight. Townsend, of course, wasn't on campus until June.

Believe we had some interest last year, can't remember if he visited

I thought we whiffed on not getting this guy last year. He's good when the QB is at least functional. Sucks he's going to Florida.

So if I’m correct, we’ve had outgoing transfers commit to UConn, Arkansas State, Colorado, Purdue, Kansas, OU, FSU, Arizona St., and Baylor…..but social media would have you believe we’re being gutted of superstars.

Texas already landed a better version of Justice Haynes. His name is Raleek Brown. I know it’s been like 24 hours and all, but for fuck’s sake, guys. Haynes can’t stay healthy and doesn’t spend much time between the tackles. We don’t need lightning and gimpy lightning. We need lightning and thunder.

Does anyone know where the bigger back for UF ended up? It’s clear he’s not coming to Texas for whatever reason, but he’s more of what Texas should be chasing.

Everyone remembers the 75 yarder to start the 2nd half against OU.

lets be fair though, one of these guys was lining up against Oregon's DLine, and one of them was against Sam Houston

Who are the current backup OTs on the UT roster? It would probably be a good idea to bring in a couple of depth piece OTs especially if they can play both OT & IOL.

Brooks and Cojoe are currently on campus and our new super TE Turntine should be moving in this weekend.

Do we have PFF on that Ivy League OL on campus?

This team doesn’t need cattle ranchers, it could stand to get a few cattle rustlers

In the 60s, better pass blocking than run blocking, hopefully a developmental prospect although what the hell does that mean these days? Any good development and someone will try to poach him.

But the actual PFF hasn't been posted (image from the site I mean) that I've seen.

derp, wrong guy

Is the Yale OT considered better? seems likely a G but he should be smart enough to play center if needed I hope.

From AI - so maybe not correct:

The new Robertson looked pretty good in some drills I saw from All America game camps. I know we're all caught up in making fun of Turntine for being skinny, but any chance this kid is ready to next year. Listed at 325 and he sure looks big enough

Seems as if Ivy league guy won't have much time to be a developmental piece.

Remember when we would say "LARGE HUMAN" and feel our cockles warm because we were so assured by the fact that the massive kid was Flood-approved. That was nice.

Now I'm scrubbing through Oregon State games trying to figure out how this is actually a disaster.

Where is Turntine listed at 325? Major doubt

Huh? By all means, let's throw out a bunch of 210 lb tight ends because they are good after the catch. They will be able to keep up with all of those 210 lb defensive ends screaming off the edge.

LOL "developmental piece."

Every backup is going to be paid by lower level P4 and G5s to be starters. They're not being developed anymore, just kept on ice for whatever program wants them.

Why pay for productivity when you can steal away potential?

Fwiw, taking a contested catch specialist archetype or physical route runner WR in CFB 26 and moving him to TE is lethal. They burn by the LBs and safeties trying to cover them and all you need is adequate run blocking on occasion from them anyway. Sark should look into that instead of true TEs. It works in real life too (Kyle Pitts at Florida).

This is a train wreck. It’s okay to say that it is.

What this team actually needs is shittier blocking from the TE position
