1 sack in 4 playoff games. Stad padding against junk teams. Terrible against the run. Save the made up analytics stats. Parsons is the Dak of the defense. Parsons was on the field against Green Bay when they could have scored 60 on us in the playoffs if the game wasn't over by halftime.

Yeah, fuck him for not making the tackle on that Pick 6. Hell, the INT he threw just before half was atrocious too….

I’m pretty much here…. Smartest player we’ve had.  The Cowboys are catastrophe and the worst managed team in the NFL. Why commit your prime years.  The only thing left is looking forward to Jerry dying.

I don't know if he's the smartest player, but he's the one player that gives more of a shit about winning than anyone they've had this century. He knew he'd get his money from somewhere, so why not get it somewhere with competent management that actually tries to win? Brilliant moves all around by Parsons and Mulugheta.

Dak and Zeke and Tank and everyone else was happy to just take Jerry's money with no real pressure to ever win anything. Parsons wants to win and knows it cannot ever happen here.

And holy shit, Jerry and his buddy the president are the same in that you cannot tell if they're actively trying to destroy what they run or if they're just completely 100 percent incompetent on a level few people ever see.

He gave away one of the top 3 defensive talents in the league for peanuts to the franchise that has repeatedly pulled his pants down and shoved a giant green and yellow dick up his ass on national TV for 2 decades. He just made them a super bowl contender and will get 2 first round picks in the late 20s and some washed up DE that's a decade into the league.

Schottenheimer has been waiting years to get his shot at being the head coach. Be careful what you wish for as you're about to join a long line of people who had to learn the hard way just how screwed up this franchise is. I'm rooting for the guy but he's been handed a fixed deck.

The drama of this right now isn’t ideal for him but ultimately I think it helps Schotty. Micah is unfiltered and petulant. Schotty does not have skins on the wall like McCarthy, and so what was going to happen when (not if) Micah developed doubts about the staff?

For the nonce, yes… but when this team goes 4-13, will it really fucking matter?

Schittenheimer will be fired so fucking fast his fucking shoes will catch on fire when he’s pushed out the door.

Yeah, the staff has no say in this. I don't believe for a second that Jerry took anything into consideration other than can you make the defense work without Micah? What is the DC supposed to say? There's nothing out of Jerry's mouth that can be believed at face value. What credibility does he have?

At this point why don't we see about trading other players. I'm guessing we could get at least 1 first round pick plus another one lower for Lamb. If we're gonna tank let's tank and get a bunch of draft picks. Dump salaries and get a bunch of good rookies under rookie contracts.

right on cue the Jones family sends out their reporter monkey Jane Slater to soft pedal this one and make it out that Parsons is a bad teammate.

We'll see Green Bay not have Parsons on the line at end all game to get beaten up and worn down by dudes 70 lbs heavier than him. He'll be a LB that moves around, rushes the passer from different spots, and magically becomes a playoff performer when he isn't ground into dust by week 14 every season.

We should all cheer for the Browns, Panthers, and Cowboys to have the first 3 picks in the draft the next 2 drafts. Nothing will make Arch come back for 2026 like having Cowboys and Browns picking at the top. Shit, he might even come back for 2027 if it happens again.

We aren’t really going into the season with Joe Milton as our backup QB right??

It's so pathetically dumb. He will never even be a decent backup. He just doesn't have the head or the feel for it. You can't fix that shit.

Posted (edited)

Parsons is going to be the most valuable non QB in the league. They got jack shit for him. It's moronic to even not think of letting it go on longer, get more teams involved in bidding, or test whether Parsons really wants to play or not. Once again, the Cowboys lead the league in getting the least fucking value for any asset they have, or any opportunity. Over and over and over again, just soooo consistently bad.

They definitely would have gotten a way better deal if they had two brain cells to rub together among the Jones mafia, and any remote instinct for deal making and working the system.

They would have done better to just tell Micah he's not getting a new contract this season. He can play or hold out and be fined, whatever. Then they declare him their franchise player and he signs his deal with somebody else and the Cowboys still get two first round picks compensation. Hall of fame player just shit way for virtually nothing.

I saw the trade run across the chyron and without even hearing the moron speak I knew he would try to compare this to the Walker trade.  Its not even in the same universe.  the great thing is it has exposed it all.  he knows no one gives him any credit for the Super Bowls.  it will be delicious watching it all go up in flames on him and Toady Boy Jr.

Look, what he got for Micah was insufficient. Another Dallas GM got fleeced. But…I have always had questions about Micah. He fades during the season often. He’s weird. He’s a tweener. And yes at times Micah made an incredible impact. For that type of money, I want someone who’s more consistent. And, the Cowboys are a mess overall. It’s not like they are headed to the playoffs. This is a very average team.  This franchise is going nowhere.

He's a tweener because they made him a tweener. He is a linebacker that can rush the pass like a mofo. But he never should have been a full time DE. He should be making plays all over the field, like he did earlier in his career. It wore him down physically having to constantly play through contact and double teams. They fucked all that up.

But he's still a future hall of famer. And that's way freakin' cheap for a future hall of famer who is probably less than half way through his career, and to a team that has already had the Cowboys' number for the last 20 years.

Schotty's fucked.  He was handed his death notice today and he'll be blamed for all of this when we all know who's issue this is.  Good people suffer when they have to answer to a moron.  And yea, the narrative (in rumors) coming out the next couple of weeks of Valley Ranch will be blaming all of this on Micah - how he was a locker room issue and couldn't be coached and didn't do this or that.  Don't be a fucking minion and fall for it.  It's all just excuses and noise being planted by the front office.  This is an embarrassment of an organization and Jerrah's pathetic answer today just made him look senile and impotent....

That's a 4-5 year plan..... When have the Jones' ever committed to anything that long and when have the Jones' ever committed to a plan?  Everything is done on instinct... emotion and hurt feelings.

They get taxed in every state they play in. He’s already said Texas will be his primary residence.

They only get taxed for the game check in the states they play away games at which works out to a small percentage of the overall comp. The vast majority gets taxed in the state the team they play for is located. Primary residence state has no bearing because the money is earned in Wisconsin. I don’t know where GB holds training camp but sometimes that can get them some state tax benefits. I do a number of current players tax work.

I told my wife tonight, we need to find a new team to half ass follow and not really care about if anyone has suggestions. I’m moving on from the Cowboys at this point. They clearly don’t give a shit about the fans, so I’m checking out.

Well when you have the luxury of being "one player away", it's easy to spend that when you put him around an even better defense and a competent offense. The Packers are on their way up. The Cowboys are stuck right where they've been for 2 decades.

So a defense that already lost players and was going to be bad just got even worse by losing the player that makes them a better defense. The statistics bare that out. This all came down to Jerry's ego, yet again. Something happened in the tiff with the agent and no longer being able to railroad Micah to agree to something without his representation. How anyone can side with Jerry after 29 years of evidence of his failures is the real taking of crazy pills. What has Jerry ever done to show he deserves one bit of credibility?

And you trade him to the team that took your manhood from you?

Think of it in the reverse.

Would Cowboy Nation be celebrating if we signed TJ Watt for 4 years for $136mm gauranteed on a $188mm deal?

Or would be saying, "Why would we commit that much money to one player on the defense and hamper the future of the team as if we are one defensive player away from being a championship team! what an idiot! A fool and his money! This is why you need a real GM, all Jerry does is overpay, etc. etc."

I think we all know it's the latter.

Half because it's Cowboys Nation and Cowboys Nation has a well-earned callous of cynicism and skepticism and negative view of everything that happens (until it's proven to be good) because we've been mismanaged for nearly 3 decades.

But half because it's true.

Jones runs the Cowboys like a Vietnamese family running a donut shop in SoCal.

Keep it all in the family so you manage costs down internally and no one ever questions the boss.

He is surrounded by "Yes men" all telling him how brilliant he is 24x7. His kids have no juice and they have been sucking off daddy' s teats for 30+ years.

Now the grandkids are getting jobs at team and the cycle will continue. This team is doomed until either A) a competent Jones (if one exists) is at helm or B) JJ dies and Stephen opts to be owner vs GM and hires someone competent

I feel bad for Cowboys fans.

On the one hand, Jerry Jones is what he is and deserves all the scorn.

On the other hand, they weren’t going to win even if Parsons were a Cowboy.

The Cowboys were in like 8 of the first 25 Super Bowls and none since. They’re the Nebraska of the NFL. I just wonder when enough people will die for them to be seen as just another scrub team.

Think this was a good trade because Parsons disappeared in too many games and getting an All Pro DT is exactly what Cowboys needed.  However, the reason the Cowboys needed a DT is because they wasted a first round pick on Mazi Smith hence, the problem.  Cowboys will probably go 5-12 this season and with reasonable good use of two first round picks should improve to 8-9 or 9-8 season.

Vegas disagrees.   For this year anyway

Unsurprisingly, the Super Bowl odds for both teams were impacted by the blockbuster deal. Green Bay's odds improved from +2200 (22-to-1) to +1300 (13-to-1), per Bet MGM. Dallas' Super Bowl odds went from +5000 (50-to-1) to +6000 (60-to-1).

I was wondering why they didn't trade up for Abdul Carter and make a trade with Parsons.  They are as equivalent players as you are going to find.  Micah has a proven track record, so you get the 3rd overall pick + a few others.  You unload the looming contract, pick up what seems to be a stellar rookie that you can lock in plus other picks in subsequent drafts from a shitty team you can feel comfortable will have high picks over the next few years.

It's a horrible trade for numerous reasons.   Imagine the haul they could have gotten in March if they put it out they were going to trade him pre-draft.   THAT could have been something like the Herschel trade.  Instead, they traded him when they had a gun to their head.  Beyond idiotic.
