FOX says it’s true. YMMV

I had to google YMMV. I’m relieved that it’s not an insult and I learned something as well.

Well, Dallas has double the population of DC. It shouldn’t be all that close. But Houston… well, I’m proud of us.

Houston has more than 3x the population of DC and a million more than Dallas. I’m honestly surprised that the homicide rate here in H-town is that low. I guess my fellow Houstonians are less stabby and shooty than I thought they were.

Nope. Irregular entry is a misdemeanor or felony depending on circumstances.  Overstay or unauthorized work, etc. is not a criminal offense.

Yes, this is what I was alluding to. This is the majority of people that we consider "illegals". Visa overstays account for like half of "undocumented" people by itself.

Being here illegally is not a crime, and proving criminal entry is very, very difficult.

But there is a flip side to the coin: removal, visa revocation, denial of status is not a judicial punishment and the level of due process and burden of proof is much lower. When review is needed, you go before a special administrative judge and not to criminal court.

Expedited removals, visa revocations, toughening asylum criteria and similar tactics are not punishment and it’s squarely within the remit of the executive to do it. The level and approach to enforcement is a question for voters and Congress to address if they choose.

I would push back a little on this and say that while these things are not punishment by definition, they absolutely can as good as and be used as such, like when the Trump admin decides they want to revoke student visas of people that dare to participate in protests against Israel's genocide, for example.

Pre-emptively posting this here to quote myself in the near future when one of the Pedophile defender's rushes on here to reguritate whatever they just heard on OAN to justify the same in LA:

https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/los-angeles-approaches-historic-low-in-homicide-rate/3741552/

Quote

The city of Los Angeles is on pace for its lowest homicides total in 60 years based on the first half of the year’s data, Mayor Karen Bass said Wednesday.

This year, the Los Angeles Police Department reported 116 homicides through June 28, down from 152 during the same period in 2024.

“Especially with the summer underway, we will continue to implement comprehensive safety strategies with law enforcement and community organizations to keep Angelenos safe,” Bass said. “That means swiftly responding when crime happens and holding people accountable, while also working to prevent crime from happening in the first place.”

Crime in the city had also declined in 2024, noting that homicides dropped 14% and shooting victims decreased by 19%, according to Bass and Los Angeles Police Department Chief Jim McDonnel.

No homicides in DC for the last 7 days seems like a good thing.

It happened in March without a fascist military deployment against US citizens. The sun rose today, too - is that also something we should credit to Trump’s destruction of democracy?

Yes, and ask @TexasHammer why the governor of Mississippi is sending troops to DC when his own capital, Jackson, has a higher violent crime rate and a 3X higher per capita homicide rate, as well as governors in Tennessee, SC, and Louisiana with similar statistics in their larger cities.

It's a perfect microcosm of MAGA.  Ostensibly, the upright citizens of those cities would be in arms about their horrific crime rates and begging Trump to send troops and the FBI to "take back their cities."

But it's not about crime, it's almost never about crime.

NO CRIME in DC?  At all?  Huh.  That's excluding what the US Government is doing I guess.

Yeah, man, that's over. It's not a thing that's discussed outside of small online circles. People have already rationalized/ignored that they voted for a pedo 3 separate times and moved on.

Nothing...nothing...has enough staying power to last for over a month with the combination of American attention spans and the constant right wing media sphere brainwashing.

Something is absolutely bugging the fuck out of him.  He didn’t give a shit about “crime” in his first term.
