Down to what, though? A decade ago I had a killer 2/2 with a room mate near Mueller that was only $1500/mo. That peaked up to nearly 3x, but I doubt that it's come down to even close to 2x

No doubt it hasn't been a big drop, but I haven't seen my kids' rents in west and north campus go up in several years.  (Different properties, apples to oranges, but still $800/mth per kid.)

They deserve blame.  Assuming they is the internet/software "titans" and not merely the users.or

Most of these technocrats have an insufferable social arrogance.  Their belief in their own "disruption" and that the rules of bricks and mortar business didn't apply to them was seriously internalized.  Now they think they're too good for democracy, or really any existing government that might try to regulate or restrain their disruptive greatness and unbelievable intellect.  And everyone that doesn't wholeheartedly share their self-belief is an intellectual pygmy moron.

Part of it is flat greed, but another pretty serious part of their sociopathy is their belief in the infallibility of their products and services.

There's a reason most of them, from Gates and Jobs on down, are weird little sociopaths.  And now they have undue influence on how this country is run.

And they will be herded up like the My Pillow guy and drained of everything, just like in the vampire Putin regime.  They're just too stupid to think it will happen to them.  Partnering with someone that is too smart to pay taxes, has no contractual obligations, including marriage, is doing business with a criminal.  Musk didn't invent anything, he stole it, same as Trump.  People that think they can control and steer these crooks are future victims.
