Also, I'm not an expert on these online communities, but I think there's a lot of daylight between those who wear animal ears or animal onesies as a cutesie thing, and actual furries.  As in thatguy's daughter.

it is funny to hear these brokeback texas maga christains be so quiet when we quote them to themselves.   texas progressives?   yes.   texas democrats? bring that back.   MAGA - kick rocks!    or, make an arguement better than that aggy kirk.   lol

Please just stop quoting this poster. They post solely to get attention. Have some dialogue with posters here that argue in good faith (I know, I know.) and add something positive to the discussion or at least something worth debating about.

There’s some humor in his current schtick. He’s just imitating his personal hero.

Jesus people.  This isn't hard.  Bullets do yaw and pitch, but there has to be enough mass in the target to impact the amount of loaded kinetic energy in the projectile.  All round produce kinetic energy based upon both their mass and velocity.  Pistol rounds will often have more mass, but significantly less velocity.  A 30-06 has both.  It's a big, fast round.  Even here a shot in the neck, even with modern hollow-points, etc won't expand unless it hits something dense enough to offset it's velocity.  In this case, it clearly passes straight through, but because the neck is a bundle of nerves and veins, it's catastrophic and the dump of kinetic energy and cavitation which you can clearly see is what cause the damage.

This is what happens.  This is why he flinched.  This is why his shirt flew up.  This is why his neck was shredded despite the high probability that the round passed straight through without expanding

So turns out this was bullshit.

There was no exit wound.  I guess Charlie Kirk had a spine made out of steel.  Those .30-06 bullets will obliterate the bones of deer and elk, but not Charlie Kirk's!

this is so powerful to me. I will leave my other thoughts about what it means to be a Christian a true Christian in the appropriate thread. I am reading the tea leaves and reading the gossip online that she doesn’t want the Death Penalty for the man who murdered Charlie. If that’s true, based on her remarks about forgiving him today, I would hope that her wishes are honored here. Hate only brings more hate. Truth. Once a crime has pretty much been solved I move onto the next one.

but to me it is always so powerful when a loved one of a murder victim is able to forgive the murderer. Allowing that hate and anger to take hold (and I’ve seen it personally destroy people) so for the sake of her kids I think it’s a profoundly important step to being able to move forward. Jmo. I doubt I will post in this thread again unless there are crime developments. I ain’t changing anyone’s mind and people ain’t gonna change mine. I just have seen knowing people who have lost someone to murder take one of two paths: hanging onto hare and anger and sorrow or choosing to forgive. And how those choices impact them going forward and their families.

Careful. You’re pretty close to the sort of rhetoric which can draw unwanted attention. Rhetoric Matthew Dowd probably regrets.

Hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions,” Dowd said, adding: “You can’t stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have and then saying these awful words and then not expect awful actions to take place.”

i haven’t watched any of the coverage of her, but this kind of public statement if accurately reported is what we need. Bravo to her for saying it even if some people don’t think she is sincere

I've never been through anything like this but I am fascinated by family members who forgive a murderer.  I've seen people interviewed, and I always think they are better people than me because I don't think I could truly do it.

If she has forgiven him, that is impressive and if she truly hasn't, well, I don't blame her and I'm not going to hold it against her.

Easy to say she is merely saying what is expected from someone who professes her faith. Yes, her initial combative comments were unhinged, but under the circumstances, not dispositive. Give the woman the benefit of the doubt. True believers are our allies.

This. I'd give someone in her situation the leeway to say whatever the fuck she feels like saying. But a week to come off the "we're at war with 'them' for unknown reasons to who knows what end" messaging is certainly welcome and shows grace.
