lsu is a better team than this texas team, and vandy throttled them today. you’re right to be fucking concerned dude.

Dude, Arch and the OL were neck and neck in a homeless vagrant dick sucking contest tonight but the OL managed to get a couple more money shots to their faces to pull out the victory.

#winning

You have a way with words. Hopefully the board will see the next generation of sports board chat.

So if the game tonight was Surly pron, the goal line stand would be the grand facial. The holding penalty would be discovering the condom had a big hole in it, and the winning FG would be your date's pimp arriving to take her away so you could get back to more Surly pursuits - i.e., solving the lack of talent in ranks of 300 lb blockers and 100 lb . hookers.

I was hoping that Kentucky would go for the touchdown on forth down instead of taking the 3 points, it gave us a chance, he should have known by that point there was no way for us to move the ball, they likely would have won if they just took it to another OT, the look on Stoops face after they got stuffed was great, he knew he blew it

In this case 300 lb hookers

You clearly didnt watch the game. So sit this one out.

Bub, arch was running for his life just about every time he got the ball. I think it's be jittery and rushing my mechanics/throws too if I was getting absolutely pummeled every time I had the ball for more than .05 seconds.

Did sark have a fuckin brain aneurism this offseason? We rarely scheme anything open, we rarely work any kind of quick passing game, Tre Wisner is somehow our best weapon, and we can’t pass protect long enough to take a deep shot which is the one thing we were all banking on this year. Sark looks like a defeated man on the sideline.

The frustrating thing is the compounding effect from missing easy dink and dunk throws.

1 incomplete isnt just a loss of down and small chunk of yard, its a loss of half the playbook, its ratchets up difficulty of moving the chain, loses momentum, time of possession, wear on opposing defense, everything.

if we completed just half of the 3 yard misses, the complexion of the game would be totally different.

I seriously don't know if some of y'all need bigger TVs or your eyes checked or just don't know anything about football. Receivers were open all day.

I believe the offensive struggles are 100% on the OL and QB. Those 6 players have been barely passable and that's why this team has 2 losses. We saw a major regression from last week on the OL front and I think that had a pretty big impact on Arch, but I don't think there's a ton of QBs in the country that would have done much better against unblocked defenders and a constantly imploding pocket and the need to run around like crazy instead of going through any kind of reads in the pocket.

Running open but Manning is sick of getting his ass rocked every fucking time. I can understand being strong in the pocket but sometimes we have to be able to dial something up and get it out quick.
it’s all kinds of discombobulation on that side of the ball. If we have to go and score 20 next week against Miss st I doubt we can do it.

I don't think Arch is capable of routinely getting it out quick.

So it's a real toxic mix.

After watching the game  and others multiple times:

Arch is a terrible miss on QB. Almost 3 years here and this is what we have? Yes, start anyone else. Put Arch at RB.

OL too many projects after the first Sark year. Knowing this why didn't we portal a few? We did it for IDL.

RB - Wisner is great but is an outside scatback. Hoping Cooper can legit run up the middle and stay healthy.

WR - a$m got two very talented fast WR's. We got injured Mosley. Hard to say is it Arch or them? They can't separate so that's on them some. When they do Arch sits on the ball and gets sacked.

Milwee - no clue what he does. We need a real OC or Sark is fired soon.

Niblett and Boumeister are the MVPs.

Stoops is an absolute moron. They completely dominated us in every aspect of the game, are at home, and he doesn’t kick the FG in OT

The announcers did a fine job of rationalizing that, but it was stupid.  Yes, a TD in OT practically guaranteed a win for UK, but they should have held out for a higher percentage play in a subsequent OT.

I said it upthread but Sark is scheming open receivers like every other good OC.  Guys are open.  Arch doesn’t see them then has no time to move to the next read.  But he shouldn’t have to.  Receivers are open over and over in immediate windows Arch keeps missing it.

Sark didn’t just now forget how to call offense.  He could be doing better and doesn’t get a pass. But this is too fast for Arch.

Sark should ask the head coach to bench arch and see if one of the backups can execute the plays he calls

Shall we review the fourth down decisions of Coach Stoops and their impact on the game?

First possession, didn't kick field goal. May have provided victory margin.

OT, didn't kick field goal even though his defense was killing us. Allows shitty Texas offense to win game even though they lost yards in their possession.

You never know how valuable a point or three will be later in the game.

Also, I don't blame this would-be loss on Arch.

This isn’t a random 4th down from your own 40, where going for it is like counting cards at the blackjack table. You have one shot here. You’re playing a top 5 run defense that just stoned you they play before and an inept offense who hasn’t done anything vs your defense all night. 2nd or 3rd OT maybe do that. On the road probably. Not there

I sat on the 40 yard line about 20 rows up in the Cotton Bowl to see that debacle. It still haunts me to this day.  I believe Miami set a record for penalties if I’m not mistaken.

Their team was loaded with talented players but so many thugs their program got completely out of control.  Same happened to Oklahoma and Baylor.

Any ideas on what happened to the running game this week? Wisner has his best game of the season and then we give him 14 total touches? Clark has 3 decent carries and then goes on a milk carton for the rest of the game.  If you have a good defense, a plus special teams unit, and a struggling QB, leaning on a running came is a viable plan (that worked very well the previous week) and yet it just got totally ignored all night. Was the defense just showing a heavy box every play that dictated the calls?

We didn't even run outside zone, the thing that we demonstrated we could actually run last week.

I think we finally dusted it off early in the 2nd half but the RBs only had 6 carries kn the 1st half. Really strange game plan

It really seemed as if, after finding a formula for winning football last week (outside zone running, quick passes, moving the chains on long drives), Sark went right back to the “big game hunter” mentality of slow developing deep shots from the very first drive.

Would really like to see the average distance to target stat for this week.

No shit. On any given play, it seems 2-3 OL don’t block. We never blow people off the ball on run plays. Arch expects to get hit every time he drops back.

This is what gets me, in the second half last week we were absolutely blowing OU off the LOS. We all figured getting Stroh out of the lineup had unlocked the o-line cheat code and we would be at least half ass average going forward.  What the fuck happened since then?

It wasn’t nearly as bad as you’re making it. The OL wasn’t good but it wasn’t as bad as Florida.  And he missed wide open guys when he had time and could set his feet. More than “2-3 times” as you claim.

he wasn’t good. It’s okay to say.

No we weren't. Tre was doing a good job navigating outside zone against OU's slants. But he was having to dodge guys in the backfield to make it work. I worried that it wasn't repeatable. But we don't really know because we didn't even try running outside zone yesterday.

Had no issues with Stoops gambling on 4th downs just question the play calls. His more erroneous and moronic calls was the FGA at the end of 1H, maybe try and get a closer shot for your kicker and on 3rd fucking down, too. Not sure there’s another FB program better at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory than UK.

4 Top 10 teams lost yesterday and 9 Top 25 teams lost. Easily could've been 10 ranked teams losing. Texas is wasting a championship caliber defense, they had a bad game against UF but they've dominated in every other contest throughout the season. Collin Simmons hit his stride beginning in the OU game...he's been a wrecking ball with 5.5 sacks in 2 games. This is the best special teams unit Texas has had since I can remember. If Shipley was the kicker last season Texas would've won the SEC championship game where Bert choked and missed numerous field goals, he nearly blew the ASU game as well.

The OL is terrible. The run game is unreliable. Receivers aren't getting any king of consistent separation and dropping passes.  Arch doesn't look like a 5 star, he looks like an FCS  QB. Kentucky is the worst team in the SEC and it took overtime and some big returns on special teams to get past them. Where did things go wrong with this offense? Is it the scheme? Play calling? Recruiting misses? Is it largely on the QB? In 2010 Texas began the season ranked #5 and we all know the disappointment involving that cluster fuck of a season. This season hits differently because Texas opened as the preseason #1. Losing to Florida was the final nail in the coffin for playoff hopes, I don't foresee Texas winning out. This is shaping up to the most disappointing season of the modern era.

What happened was you have a true freshman LG and a back center playing together for the first time.  Both had their first road start in their careers.  Robertson couldn’t block anyone and Brooks basically couldn’t handle any stunts and twists.   When you have a bad OL, try to simplify it.  Instead of having them go backwards and pass protect, have them go forward and push someone.  Except…. We have 1 running back on this entire fucking roster that can run and he’s beat up bc he’s a change of pace back that we have running inside.

Sark gets a fucking failing grade for the offense he has put together this season.  Wingo absolutely terrible.  I cannot believe Sark used him in the same breath as Jeremiah Smith and Ryan Williams.  He’s a jag that cannot get separation, has shitty hands, and is a shitty blocker.  DeAndre Moore is our veteran WR leader and he showed his poor IQ last night.  Endries can’t block for shit.  He got abused last night.  Arch can’t hit easy crossing routes, looks uncomfortable throwing a simple screen, and is mentally broken from the hits he has taken this season.

This offense is on par with the Charlie Strong/Shawn Watson experiment.  A total failure.  Sark needs to have play sheet stripped of him.  Get a legit OC.  Hit the portal hard.  Every position needs to be open to competition next year.  Get rid of guys that are eating up money like Baxter and Wingo.  You can’t produce? Then see ya later.  This is a fucking business now.  These players leave the minute they get a better offer.  On the flip end, they need to be “cut” if they can produce on the field whether it be injuries or just plain sucking.   And the offensive portal additions were fucking terrible.  Good thing we got Mosley who can’t do shit while teams like aggy got Conception and Craver… guys that can get separation and can catch.   Somehow, in year 5, we have a drastically worse offense than we had with fucking Casey Thompson in year 1.

Receivers are open. They aren't the primary problem. It is Arch. He is bad. The line is bad too. But Arch would be bad with a good line.
