Today I don’t care if my HEB is open, short staffed, or if I can’t buy shit  they make because it’s out of stock.   They always come through when Texans are in need.

Proud to be a former HEB Partner.

Three H-E-B pop-up locations in Central Texas will begin distributing aid to flood victims on Tuesday.

The San Antonio-based grocery chain will give away free recovery kits, which include water, snacks, first aid kits, cleaning supplies, gift cards, and more. H-E-B Partners and volunteers will also provide meals to rescue personnel and first responders.

"Our teams are staying close to the hardest-hit areas, and we will continue to provide needed support as these tragic situations evolve," H-E-B said. "We hold compassion and strength for everyone who has been impacted, and we remain committed to offering unwavering support to our communities."

Recovery agencies at all levels of government in every state and even internationally could learn a thing or two from how HEB deploys.   I can be certain if a hurricane hit the coast in the next couple of weeks, they’d be down here and still be able to do their thing in the Hill Country or any other part of the state if we had simultaneous events.

It helps free up resources when you're never open, though.
