60 career sacks and $42 million in career earnings for an 11-year career.  Not bad for a 4th round pick

Who is left in the NFL from the 05 team? Colt technically I guess. Anyone else?

Nope.

End of an era.

Guy was a total bad ass.

I’ll never understand how someone that large could jump so high and block so many kicks.

I sat next to his parents at the 2004 Arkansas game in Fayetteville. His dad was about 5'5" and his mom was close to 6'. I believe his dad played JUCO football and his mom played something in college also. They were really great people, and you could tell how much they had encouraged and helped their son along the way. BRob really was an athletic freak.

He had a fine football career and was a class act every step of the way.  Best of luck to him in the next step of his life.  As a Longhorns and Vikings fan, it's a bittersweet day.

Got damn, those two posts will make you feel old.

what a great guy and classy announcement. his high school coach told me  his sophomore year that he was a bad ass and would play in the NFL some day.  Also still holds the Texas high school discus record at over 215'

As a fan of the Vikings I was thrilled when they drafted him & loved following his career. He was also hilarious and a locker room favorite. Guys loved him as a teammate. Lots of cool/funny videos he was involved in on their official page.

Hook em and Skol, #96.

Hook em. Dude was a heck of a all around athlete.

Clay Matthews was a walk-on redshirt freshman on that roster, playing special teams.

There's a name Keith Jackson (RIP) used to love to say.

Jamaal Charles was on that 2005 team and he has yet to retire.

I had no idea Jamal Charles was still in the NFL.

I met his aunt at the Alamo Bowl vs Iowa. Totally cool family, you can see where he gets it from. One of the most underrated Longhorns of my lifetime, and just an all around badass football player. Hook em B Rob! 🤘🏼

God damn I feel old as fuck.

Go have coffee with Armybrat.

Brian kicked a lot of ass.  All that exercise is probably why he could jump so high.

Would have been 5th in the last Olympics

Would have placed 9th in the 2008 Olympics.

was a big fan, but never expected him to make it this long in the league.  Definitely over achieved.  Hook em!

Not bad. Retiring relatively young, beautiful family and quality career in the NFL.  A truly great Longhorn. Equal parts motor, heart and freakish athleticism.

BRob on one end and Tim Crowder on the other..... those were good times.

Love that dude.

Congrats on a great career and enjoy retirement.

Brackens?

Brackens?

NFL sacks

Brack 55 in nine years

Rob 60 in eleven years (started for only 6 years)

NCAA sacks

Brack 24

Rob 15 (played MLB freshman yr)

I had the good fortune of being on our track and field team (high jump) and B Rob was a team mate of mine. Dude was as good of a guy as there was. He was just someone you wanted to be around and he made everyone smile.

Look up his Big XII Championship shot put record. Dude was a beast.
